Cobb salad was ok -- slightly overdressed. The egg they include in it is hard boiled but not apparently cooked in its shell. The egg was dry and chewy at the edges - blah! Ordered coffee, but they had no cream to go with it even after looking in the back kitchen. Makes you wonder who is minding the store here and staying on top of details. I wish Id liked it more -- I like the low / no carb grain bowels on the menu, but probably not coming back.

Impressive sustainable ingredients. Large sandwiches and salads. I enjoy Eating at the outside table next to the water fountain. Ive had the beef sandwich and a takeout chicken salad. The salad is enough for two if you are also having a sandwich. I thought the beef sandwich had way too much Mayo and too much spice in the beef which actually masks the flavor of the beef. The generous portion of beef is well done and could be more tender.

I just tried this place today. I ordered on line and what an easy process. I just went into the restaurant and picked up my order that was waiting for me. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the 1/2 chicken, cherry salad sandwich with a fresh split pea soup. So good!! I will definitely go back. I wish they had a cappuccino machine. That would make this place perfect.

I ate here for lunch and had the BLT salad. Shortly after eating, my stomach became very upset. The salad tasted great but the experience after was not so great. THIS IS NOT AN ATTEMPT TO GET MY MONEY BACK OR GET INVOLVED WITH ANY LEGAL ACTION. Just a thought maybe you want to inspect the food quality of the lettuce or anything that was put in the salad. Thanks!

Local Food Adventures

Finally! A really great sandwich shop that is within walking distance in downtown Lafayette!! The sandwiches are tasty, especially the Pastrami and they had a great kids option of Turkey & Avocado. With seating around the nearby fountain, its a great excuse to get outside and grab some lunch! (And make sure you pick up a yummy chocolate chip cookie, too!)

Ive been meaning to try Homegrown since it opened and am glad I got to it today. I had the cobb salad and it was so nice to see big pieces of chicken and bacon w/out nitrates. I also bought a jar of pickles and theyre delicious! Staff couldnt have been nicer explaining their popular lunches and handling a bleu cheese allergy I have.

Delicious food What a great place. Fast and friendly service. I had the chicken salad sandwich on a wheat roll. I was amazed at the big chunks of chicken, tart cherries, and light dressing. Nice patio to enjoy your meal. Only drawback is that its a bit pricey: full size sandwich runs $12.95.

Fantastic! I love when sandwiches are creatively and tastily crafted. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Will be back to get the pastrami sandwich again. My wife wouldnt share the roasted veggie sandwich with me so Ill have to get that next time too.
