I came here a few days ago with some friends that I had picked up from the airport who are from Canada, they had never experienced authentic mexican food in Los Angeles. I wanted to take them somewhere inexpensive where we could sit down and have a nice catch up and yet still impress them with the great flavors the city has to offer, instead of some seedy squatter taco stand in downtown. Passing the airport we drove by this restaraunt and decided to try it out, I was defienetly impressed with the atmosphere, portions, prices, and above all mouth watering tasty authentic flavors. I tried the chile colorado and it will forever have me coming back for more.

This a true neighborhood gem! Had to kill some time in my way to the airport to pick a friend and I stopped by this cute restaurant. Had a taco and a fajita and they were to die for... its all homemade so I could totally tell the difference between a fast food and an authentic mexican restaurant. I also had some homemade horchata and a corona... At the back there was a group having a party and I could tell they were having a blast! Loved the decor and the chairs (different colors, striking, very cool). If you are in the neighborhood or around the airport you should check it out. So far, the best mexican restaurant I have tried in LA.

I seriously dont know how this place has 4.5 stars. This was my second time picking up takeout from this restaurant, and my order has been screwed up both times. I ordered a vegetarian tostada both times which is supposed to come with guacamole and sour cream, and neither time did these items appear on the dish. Further, the second time, the cucumbers, avocado and lettuce in my salad were totally ROTTEN. When I called to let them know, they werent the least bit empathetic or apologetic. Sorry Frijoles, never again.

Frijoles is a great local Mexican place. My wife and I love the Tortilla soup. Its very tasty, full of vegetables and avocado. The torta cabrona is also very good and the capitan tacos are great. I dont think theres anything there that Ive had that I didnt like. Skip the habanero sauce if you dont do well with spicy stuff. I prefer another chili sauce they have thats a little thicker and darker. I tend to put it in everything. Dont forget to try the Micheladas.

A group of us who work close-by and are very critical foodies eat at Frijoles a minimum of once a week. It is consistently delicious, authentic, and reasonable. The service is always friendly, the decor welcoming. It is only a question of time before this shack gets so discovered that we wont be able to get in. I understand its open for breakfast and dinner too.

Too high priced for over cooked food owner said no to re-cooking 18$ plate of cheese quesadillas and taquitos. The taquitos were so burned the meat was completely dry and hard over all experience was not good. Price posted under plate picture on menu was not price of plate...for the price could have nicer ambiance also too run down looking. Stomach ache.

I called ahead and picked up a Carne Asada Wet Burrito to go. It was a pretty good meal size with alot of mild red sauce for $6.50. It was tasty but it hardly had if any melted cheese on top. I would go somewhere else next time. It was your usual smaller than normal hole in the wall I would not rave about.

My girlfriend and I moved to LA a year ago and since then been looking for an excellent authentic Mexican restaurant.. The wait is over I just finished my meal at Frijoles and it was all great. The service the atmosphere is 100% authentic and overall has a homey feel to it.

Took my teen rock climbing group here after a hard day at the Sender One gym nearby, and everyone loved it. The food was delicious, and the portion sizes were huge for the inexpensive prices. Were going to make it a regular stop from now on.

Great hole-in-the-wall Mexican food place! Food is very tasty and quite affordable. You almost dont notice it from the street.Chile Verde is very good, as well as their Tortas and horchata.
