We love the food ! Getting a bit irritated with the to go service. Went in tonight, placed an order for chicken soup , the receipt showed the time 18:56. After waiting 15 minutes , I started noticing that people who ordered after me were getting their food while I was still waiting. I inquired about my order , the gentlemen said " oh sorry , we had to make more . Should be ready soon". When my number was finally called the time on my phone was 7:17 . I so appreciated the fresh bowl of soup , however if I would have been warned about the wait I would have ordered something else or opted out of ordering. To top it off there were no utensils or napkins in the bag , not the first time this has happened on my to go order. May I suggest that if the to go order is going to be more than 15 minutes , let your customer know ? Also please make sure you provide utensils and napkins as you do for your diners , guess the tip didnt help ! The two star rating is for service , the soup gets a 5 star!

After 1/2 hour wait on a very slow Monday noon, they had to ask me what my order was. Another 20 minutes and had to tell them that I hope the food is better than the service. family like the chicken tacos, though nothing special. Fish taco can earn a 2 or 3 with a stretch. Las Barcas burrito doesnt even make a "1". By far the worst ever. believe it or not even Del Taco beats it. Chicken was dark meat with grizzle. Their following obviously is the dumbed down crowd that doesnt know what good food is. No, it is not mexican food like mama used to make. Spent too much time south of the border to buy that. Lived south of Ensenada for a few years and buddied with a grad from Univ of Mexico.

I agree with the the other reviews that dont get the hype. On my second visit I ordered the wet burrito with extra sauce and cheese because the first time it barely had any on it. They charged me about $8 for the extra sauce and cheese making my burrito cost $16.00. With a family of 4 to feed it was ridiculously expensive, $70. A 30 minute wait in a ridiculously crowded place and I find the flavor to be a bit bland. The chips are not fresh made like Normitas down the street. Unbelievably the chips dont come with salsa and the container of salsa was $6. I would go to Sanchos or Normitas over this place any day.

Taste is subjective but this is some of the best Mexican food Ive ever had. No srimping on ingredients. I ordered the number 36 cheese enchilada and chilie relleno dinner. A large chilie stuffed with white cheese and the same for the enchilada. A man size feast. Excellent beans with many whole beans with the smashed ones. Excellent rice as well. Small portion of chips. Just right so you get a taste but dont get filled up. Salsa was good but not great to my taste. Ive been eating mexican food for more than 50 years and this is a winner. Great value as well.

Very good Mexican fast food. What I had was comparable to some of the better taco shops along southern AZ... But falls short of the best. With the exception of their relleno. Despite being made with a poblano rather than a green chili, the relleno makes up for it with the batter. Thick, fluffy, delicious. Its really difficult to find a relleno made this way. Its for this reason they get 5 rather than 4 stars. Now if only I could talk them into using a green chili.

I really dont get the hype. After dining there for the second time tonight I am over it. I got 5 tacos, rice, and beans for only $24 dollars........are you kidding me $24? Not to mention the 25 minute wait for said tacos. Food taste just like any mexican restaurant that serves tacos, except the shells on these tacos can somehow be stale/chewy/and soggy all at once. If only Normitas was open later on sundays.

I ate here for the first time about a month ago and really enjoyed it. The shrimp cocktail was yummy as well as the fried shrimp tacos. The waiter was great and had such an awesome personality. The drinks were good as well as the entire experience. I went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasnt crowded. It seemed like a neighborhood type of place. If in the area, I would definitely visit again.

I love this place. DELICIOUSLY HUGE FOOD!!!!!!!!! I eat 1/2 and save the other 1/2 for the next meal so an $8 burrito is really $4/meal. I used to go when they only took cash, however they accept cards now and remodeled the front to look more "corporate" but the food is far from "corporate". Salsa is authentic. Meats fantastic, its everything you love about mexican food.

I live close by and eat there at least twice a month. I have had the fish tacos, fried tacos, soft tacos, flautas, taquitos! Every thing i have had has been really good. Everything is cooked fresh so call ahead if you want to pick it up otherwise expect to be there 15-20 minutes waiting on food and thats if they are not busy.... Very good place to eat.

Its aight. Had the chicken flautas and a beef tamale. The beef in the tamales was dry and didnt have too much flavor, luckily the sauce they put on the outside helped to reduce the dryness. The outside of the flautas were really nice and crispy, unfortunately it was filled with probably more cheese than chicken. Guac was good tho...

Friendly service and I have enjoyed everything Ive ordered - the burritos are frickin huge and you wont go hungry unless youre a 350lb. lineman. Be careful when going during dinner time, you may wait a bit for your order, but if take out, probably good idea to phone it in. My go-to place for my Mexican food fix.

I have been to better Mexican food restaurants. I would rate Chipotle, Qdoba and MadMex much higher than this. The beans were not good. Not too much flavors. The only thing I liked the most was their green sauce with mint, onion and green chillies. Portion were huge and should be cut down little.

I was looking for some decent Mexican food in south HB and Las Barcas was highly recommended by a friend. I have to admit it was damn good compared to the other places in the area that try to pass as Me scan I.e. - Freds. Do yourself a favor and try them out. Not a bad thing on the menu.

Fresh and delicious, Las Barcas never disappoints. Friendly and attentive staff as well as a great owner, Antonio. He makes you feel like you are at his home if you catch him there. Great job Antonio for providing some of the best Mexican food around HB maybe even in the OC!
