Wow, waited for over an hour to seat a table of six. Finally decided to split up into two booths, (8 booths were empty at this time) shortly after we ordered drinks a party of six comes in and gets seated without any wait. They took a table from an empty booth and put that on the end to make a table for six, uhhh......yeah "check out the brain on brad". So I went to talk to the manager, evidently he stepped out for a minute, no problem. I informed the waiter I wanted to talk to the manager as soon as he returned. 20 minutes later I go back up to the counter to talk to the manager who hadnt come to talk to my table yet, informed him of our experience to which he was very apologetic. Ok, fine... Then he zeroed out our bill, ok, not my goal here but at this point whatever... Then!, my friend had to leave so I joined the other half of my party as they finished their meal. They get their bill which hadnt even been discounted. I found this out when I got home, immediately called the manager who said he would straighten this all out and call me back. I am still waiting for his call. The manager/ owner/ host named Chris is; uninformed, unaware, and unprofessional. He told me he was unaware of; our long wait, the moving of the booth tables (which is unallowed according to him) and the zeroed out bill. As for the food; who cares! With such a horrible experience like that I will never go there again nor will I ever suggest it to anyone, except for a place to avoid. It truly is too bad I have to give at least one star. update: it has now been more than 10 days and still no credit back to my card, or even a phone call. Just took the family to Mexquite mexican food here in Folsom. Heard good things about it so wanted to give it a try... Rice = so-so; Beans = average; Salsa = blah; Bean-dip = average; Childrens Plates: Chicken Strips/Nuggets (not sure what they were to be honest) = Dry and hard. Hamburger = Dry bun with patty, NOTHING else. Quesadilla = my 5 year old ate the whole thing so Im giving it a thumbs up. Dinner Meals: Steak Quesadilla = Steak was TERRIBLE. My wife ordered and I sampled the steak. It had NO flavor whatsoever. Mole = Tasted like barbecue sauce with some spices added to it. Was not mole sauce at all. Carnitas = Dry and stringy. I would be willing to bet it was about 3-5 days (prob more) old and they added boiling water to it to try and revive. It tasted as though it was sitting around for 8+ hours non-refrigerated. It would have served me better picking up a bag of beef jerky at the gas station and throwing that into a tortilla and adding sour cream and guac. Summary: On a scale of 1-10, I would give this place a 1.5. Only because the service and atmosphere were decent. And because we didnt get any alc beverages so Im giving them the benefit of the doubt that they can pour a glass of beer from the tap without screwing that up. Prices were average to average high but based on the quality of food, WAY too high. Average dinner was 15 bucks. I cant emphasize how disappointed we were. I thought about talking to the manager, but I just figured Id pay the bill, get outa dodge, and add that to the list of establishments never to return to. To give you an idea of how disappointed we were, we didnt even stay for the free ice cream the kids got with their meals.

This place has great food, friendly and attentive staff and a fun atmosphere. I typically have lunch here and its not too crowded, but in the evenings it can get packed especially on weekends. The bartended seems knowledgeable and does a great job. Personally my favorite food to get here is the small carnitas nachos. Im 6 ft and about 185 lbs and it satisfies me for lunch. Its served in an oven baked skillet and has sour cream, guacamole, and some amazing pickled onions in addition to the chips, beans and meat. I most definitely recommend giving Mexquite a try.

This is on behalf of my computer illiterate mom who was so unhappy with this place. She said her salad (the Ceviche salad) tasted like it had been made the day before it was so soggy. The lettuce was wilted and the taste was awful. Dad had dry chicken and ended up dumping the salsa from chips on it to give it any taste. The waitress never once came back after bringing the food.

This is the Best "Authentic" Mexican Restaurant. No other Mexican Restaurant compares to their Delicious Mexican Food. Service is Excellent and the Restaurant here in Folsom has a patio with Mexican music which I love to sit out on after we walk the trail here. My favorite are the Fish Tacos. :-) AKA: Julie Borges

Delicious and beautifully prepared mexican food. Good vegetarian selection. The chile rellenos are excellent. Breakfast was a real disappointment. Had the huevos rancheros and husband had the chilaquiles. Both were bad. Skip breakfast and go directly to lunch or dinner!

Im 13 and best friends with the owners daughter. I love their food and the staff is super friendly and nice! Whatever bad things people say about the restaurant is just wrong. This is probably the best Mexican food youll even eat. Trust me.

Nice Dinner, ordered Veggie Fajitas and Veggie quesadillas which were delicious. The guacamole was average, not bad. Rice and beans were standard. The flavors of the Fajitas made me write the review. Definitely will try again.

Good food, although sometimes the service isnt the best. I really like the salads. There is a very enjoyable patio seating as well that is perfect in the spring and on summer mornings/evenings.

Nice spot that is ready to get to. The service is not always great, and the food is often greasy. On more than one occasion weve left and said we wish we would have gone elsewhere. Just OK.

Food was good, and prices were average. Service staff was nice and fairly attentive. Did have to ask for refills once, but other than that, a very nice experience.

I love everything about this place. The food is the star of this restaurant but the drinks and the people are wonderful too.
