The best place for pizza fixins! I was making a calzone and needed some good marinara sauce and pizza dough. I was feeling lazy and didnt want to make my own, and then I remembered Capri! WHAT IT IS An Italian deli. When you enter, youre standing in their storefront. To your left is a case full of delightful cookies. :) Further down this case you have your deli meats and cheeses, and a sandwich ordering station. To your right is the rest of the store where you can buy anything you need to make pizza. There is refrigerated dough and marinara sauce, cheeses, ect. Lots of pasta. If you pass through the storefront youll find a seating area for people who decide to eat in. WHAT YOU SHOULD ORDER Sandwiches, or pizza stuff. AMBIANCE 3 stars Not nice, but not bad either. Its dated, but not in a terrible way. This is a quick lunch spot. FOOD AND DRINKS 4 Stars Capris sandwiches are pretty good. Theyre FAR better than the likes of Subway (which is the sandwich Gulag), and the bread is great, but they die for better meat. If this place upgrades to Boars Head youll see a real sandwich contender. Their pizza fixins and cookies, however, are phenomenal. If you need stuff to make pizza and are weirded out by making your own dough or sauce, this is the place to go. NICE SURPRISES Their chocolate thumbprint cookies remind me of my Italian Nana. :) Also it was really cool to find sauce here. I had initially just come for the dough. OVERALL A great local spot!

I lived for 16 years in Covina during the 70s through the late 80s and I have yet to find another deli that is as good as Capri Deli! I live in Tustin now, but whenever Im anywhere near that area (usually a funeral at Rose Hills - I am a bagpiper), I go out of my way to stop by and grab the awesome sandwich on which I grew up...Italian Cold Cut! The BEST sub sandwich on the face of the earth!!! Everything else is fantastic here, so you will never be disappointed, no matter what you choose. Fair warning, the line does get long, but these young folks get you in and out quickly, and always with a smile, so GO! Youll love it! The drinks are chilled, the food is tasty and the people are friendly and helpful. :-D

3 stars because Staff was nice & efficient, shop is clean, lots of selection. Ordered the meatball sandwich. It was good but the sauce was on the sweet side, no garlic flavor, and the meatballs were mushy. I prefer mine a little salty, garlicky, and more meat rather than breadish. Had a medium tub of potato salad all ready to purchase till I saw (on the table behind the counter) the staff was repackaging "first Street" potato salad and reselling it. So, I put that back in the fridge. My preference is fresh and home made.

Variety is the best word to describe this wonderful deli. Delicious food made with quality products by people you would want in your family. The best sandwiches and pizzas are made to order. The deli cases have wonderful meats and cheeses. The grocery section has wonderful treats and the lasagna or spaghetti can be taken home either in microwave or oven safe containers. Even the choosing a beverage could take time. They even have a case full of wonderful desserts to complete your meal.

Awesome sandwiches with excellent customer service. What more can a man ask for? This place also has a good selection of deli meats and pasta and even frozen treats like cannoli, spumoni, among others. I would have to urge you to try out their meatball and sausage combo. Get it on garlic bread with fried peppers and your favorite cheese (shout out for muenster and pepper jack). The pastrami is also unmatched.

I am a creature of habit and so I always get the Mortadella sandwich with oil and vinegar, salt and pepper. This habit originated with the Grinder World some 50 years ago. Fortunately, Capri Deli appreciates a good sandwich. Try coming at lunch or dinner and you will wait your turn with the rest of us as they build you one of their finest. Definitely worth the wait.

Ordered 3 Sandwiches and a small Cheese Pizza. I had a beer while waiting and they brought out the 3 Sandwiches and said have a good night. I got home and remembered they forgot my Pizza. When I went back they gave me the Pizza and did not say sorry. They were very freaking rude. Learn some good customer service, as the food is awesome.

Sandwiches are made to order in this old school Italian deli. Bread and meats are pretty good and fresh tasting and while Ive never had it myself, the other deli options, like little pasta salads and what not, look good too. It gets crowded at lunch time during the week so i recommend getting there closer to 11:30 to avoid a long line.

I have done business with thousands of restaurants all over the state of California and this is the best deli east of Los Angeles that I found. The food is fresh and prepared with gusto! The service is super and the people have a positive and friendly demeanor. Try it you will go back and keep going back.

Hot pastrami can rival The Hat. Cold Cuts is good but not as good as Claros (crispy bread). Ask for the meatball sandwich on garlic bread from the kitchen. Lasagna to go also good and they have a selection of classic sodas. Yardstick and other catering orders great for feeding groups reasonably.

I went there last week - I hadnt been there for YEARS - like the 80s!! OMG I had the vegetarian sandwich and it was AMAZING. I was going to buy a couple more and bring them up to Fresno but I knew I would eat the whole thing again...so no. BUT this will be "a go to stop" when I visit CA

Price for the pastrami seemed like it was a bit much, that was until it showed up to my table. Meat was piled high and full of flavor. Worth every penny. Washed it down with a 44oz draft rootbeer in a frosted mug. Great find. I will return the next time Im in the area.

Very disappointing ordered a corn beef on rye. Got more bread than meat. Asked for regular mustard they did not put it and worst of all how could you eat corn beef sandwich with no pickle. They did not put pickles. Sorry Capri I was a big fan but not any more.

Awesome real deli tucked away on moderately busy avenue. Has literatatly everything! Prices are above moderate, however thats to be expected for a cured and exotic products that are not available just anywhere. I like that you can dine in as well.

One of the best things in life is when you try a new place to eat and it turns out to be excellent. There constantly busy a good sign. And in truth for nine dollars spaghetti and salad is a steal. But more importantly the food was great.

Best deli hands down. Everything is fresh. I could almost taste the ice cold root beer in a frosty mug - Mmmmmm... Are you really reading these reviews! Get down there! The line is growing while you waste time reading!
