The food is interesting, complex and extremely flavorful. (Certainly better than the burger chain in the packing house.) We have eaten here many times without poor experience. They have been accommodating in preparing simple, but very tasty meals from those of us with dietary restrictions. The atmosphere makes it easier to have a conversation. And they serves something other than over priced beer. I recommend the chocolate stout. You might not eat vegan and yet you might find the vegan desserts delicious because they are not overly sweet. Excellent Manhattans. There are two odd aspects about the place. One is smokers gauntlet. Just pass by them. The second is music. Often it is very interesting, but we tend to find it too loud due to the small size of the dining area. However, others disagree.

A very local hangout with an eclectic menu and decent beer selection. You might feel out of place if youre not in one of the colleges or a Claremont resident but its still a welcoming environment for all. Food was pretty good but it seemed to be tilted towards more pub style fair than anything. Definitely recommend as a place to get a beer/drink and maybe a snack.

Been a regular for music and meals for over 15 years. Everything is wonderful here. Appetizers, bread, yucca chips, bread pudding Yum! Main dishes and the Dinner Specials are the best! I cant say there is a single item Ive ever tried on the menus I didnt like. Ive come for just juice and lunch to an anniversary dinner. Its always great and I love the ambiance.

Went there last evening for dinner for the first time. Had multiple servers, everyone around our table who arrived later than we did recieved their food before we did, and there was an eclectic crowd of snobbs among the restaurant. Might have just hit it on a bad night, but first impressions are important. I dont think I will be returning.

I love the vegetarian friendly menu. The service is hit and miss in terms of speed of service but every server and bartender are very nice. The place turns into a bar at night and they have live music several times a week. Really cool collage atmosphere at night.

Delicious food, happy hour had all apps half off. House salad dressing green(sour) and red(sweet) came on the side chilled and were awesome. Recommend the lasagna, my gf and I will definitely be coming back for dinner for linguine scallop and filet.

Their selection of draft beer is fairly poor. With only a few IPAs and a couple blonde ales. No regular beer on tap at all. My positive rating is based on the good service and great people who hang out here. I havent tried the food.

love this place. I go with friends almost every single Thursday. Bar staff is fast. Servers are pretty slow but the food/desserts are worth the wait plus the food is very cheap. The djs are great & the guests are always super friendly.

Really nice setting and vibe; great staff and food. Cigarette smoke drifting across our dinner table every time the front door opens (and we were far away from the door!) definitely a killer. If not for that, four or even five stars!

"The press" is a great name for his restaurant/bar because on a Friday night enough grad students, college kids, and local regulars are crammed in the front to make getting through to the tables in the back quite a squeeze.

The food is great! The fries and nachos are great appetizers. They have a nice selection of drinks and I love the live music in the evenings. The space is pretty small and it is hard to get a table past 9pm.
