A number of years ago, my ex-wife introduced me to this place. Immediately fell in love with the Breakfast Burritos. Screamin then. So, fast forward to July 29th, 2012. I took my current wife, and the littlest ones, here and did have some reservations on whether or not it had changed for the worse. When we pulled up there were only 3 or 4 cars present. I remember it being a hoppin place. In any event, we were starvin. So we went in, set our kids down, figured out our order and I went up to order. As we were deciding, a couple of other people had come in so I did have to wait to place our order. But not long. Soon enough we placed our order and although it did take a little while, it wasnt so long as to really complain about it. When we received our order I was VERY HAPPY to see that the food hadnt changed in over 15 years!! The breakfast burrito was exactly as I remembered it and had described to my wife as a full breakfast order rolled up in a tortilla. And I feel the prices were quite reasonable as well. My only complaint was that getting a coffee refill wasnt a high priority item to them. Thats why I listed service as a 2 not 3. Decor has changed from what I remember 15 years ago and I rated accordingly. Food Im happy to say hasnt changed one bit. Still a dang good bit of grub. My only recommendation to them would be to think about eliminating the drive through or limiting the items that can be ordered through the drive through. I feel the drive through takes precedence over the sit down crowd. Aside from that, I hope to go back to Calif. Burger when Im in town again. Wife was impressed with the food too!

I Took my family there for dinner. And the manager was in a foul mood in the beginning. Ordered 2 kid meals one no dressing with onions and another With cheese and onion. Both were wrong. I went to counter to ask to make them right and the so called Manager refused. Wanted to charge me for a 3 cent piece of cheese. The burgers were not even juicy. I asked him just remake one, and he still refused. I sent my friend up there because he got me so mad. She went to talk to him and he actually said "Put them on a plate and get them off my counter"!!! I have been coming here for years and never in countered such evil behavior. I know they are a family operated restaurant, and I love Zoey, but after today I will not be back, and I will tell others about this. There is no exuse for his behavior. I loved there fries so much ,I would buy burgers other places and get the fries there, but they were greasy and old. You need to not hire family if you want good service and good food. I will be contacting BBB A Ex Customer. Ip

I used to be a long time customer here. I stopped by on Wednesday 12/30/2015 right before closing to have a burger. I ate and everything seemed to be fine until Thursday morning at about 9 am. I began to feel nauseous which i dismissed because i thought it was due to skipping breakfast. Symptoms only got a lot worse and now im sitting here at home in a lot of pain. My wife called to simply let them know i had gotten food poisoning from them. The manager was extremely disrespectful by yelling profanity at her. She called just as a courtesy to let them know but now we will be filling a complaint with the health department. I will never eat here again...sad because this was one of my favorite places in Citrus Heights. I hope they get shut down.

*Revised review 3/21/15 based on a bad experience If you are thinking about getting a good hamburger do not choose California Burgers I had placed an order over the phone and they told me it would take 15 minutes. So I go to Smart and Final for about 17 minutes and come back, my order was still not ready! I sat another 15 minutes before they actually had my order ready. The staff members who were working there were very rude to me and after being a loyal customer and dropping the ball on their customer service I will go to Jack in the Box for a good meal now. Its a shame because they were ranked top in burger making in my book but not anymore.

My girlfriend told me this place was awesome and i have also heard this from several people in the past but in my opinion this place was NOT worth the price. Over $10 for just the burger, i better be getting a juicy patty with good flavor. This was not the case, patty was dry and fries were soggy. I was very displeased with the food and this was my first time eating at a california burger, to say the least i will not be a return customer. Also im writing this review shortly after consumption trying to find what people like so much about this place. Id rather buy a piece of bark for $20 and chew on that.

A mildly expensive little restaurant that now inhabits the remains of a Noggles that used to be there many years ago. At first I was a little uneasy about trying this place out because of the fact it was called "California Burgers" and generally naming a restaurant after "California" is a sign of bad things to come. Surprisingly, the California Burger is one of the best damned burgers in the entire Sacramento region. One word of warning, start your diet tomorrow. This burger will stick with you for quite some time. I tell you what though, its worth it, every penny... definitely!

Way too expensive and takes forever to get your good especially if you go through the drive thru. I can never order a large drink cause they have the cups that dont fit in any cup holder. So dumb! When the fries arent soggy they are delicious but its rare that you dont get soggy fries even when you request them to not be soggy. The people in the drive through window arent very friendly and act like youre a nuisance for making them have to do their job. Food is decent though. Plus they close way too early!

Overpriced with poor food quality. Got charged $5.99 for a large milk shake that was just a cup full of generic tasting soft serve. No real ice cream, no whipped cream, and definitely no cherry? Wtf? Burgers were average at best, nothing close to being worth the obscene price I was charged. The restaurant itself was dirty with stacks of old dishes piled up with food on them. Reminded me of being in the cafeteria of an old folks home in the 80s. I would not suggest eating at this establishment.

Ordered several meals and it took 35 minutes for the order. When I asked about the delay, I was yelled at that they were busy, then later after receiving our order, another person came by the table to explain that one of the items takes time, which we were NOT informed about at time of ordet. Later I ordered 2 chili dogs to go and it took over 20 minutes for that. Horrible costumer setvices, especially for the prices. 15 dollars for 2 chili dogs and one order of fries to go.
