Made a pit stop today around noon at this cafe traveling with family to Yosemite from San Francisco. After driving for 2 hours, four of us including my five year old son needed to stretch as well as use the restroom, and this cafe showed up when we needed that break. We pulled over. Saw the sign Restrooms for customers only. So, after using the restroom, I picked up a cup of tea, but heard from the cashier I needed to buy stuff at least for four dollars as others including the five year old did not purchase anything. 1 dollar per person using the restroom. I did not believe what I just heard...very petty, with in your face delivery bordering on rude. I did buy 2 teas for five bucks, but left feeling offended and treated uncourteously, and I let them know that. There are several cafes around the corner from this cafe, and would like fellow tourists on the route to know that, and perhaps those are several times friendlier too!

Priest Station is a must-stop cafe on the north-west edge of magnificent Yosemite National Park, in Groveland, California. Whether its a burger and fries and a beer you want, or delicious vegetarian options, Priest Station offers a welcoming and historical place to sit and take in the stunning view while enjoying your food. It has a beautiful patio and a deep link to its location: the property has been in the family since the 1850s, when gold mining was the rage in the foothills below and when a visit to this strikingly beautiful area, with its mountains and redwoods and semi-secret swimming holes (ask the staff at Priest Station), involved a good deal more effort than climbing into your SUV...or, hopefully, electric car! Enjoy the wonders of Yosemite, then enjoy a meal at Priest Station - or vice versa. Highly recommended!

My girlfriend and I were driving a rented jeep from San Francisco out to Yosemite, our first time. "Susan" on the TomTom told us to take route 120 and I only WISH i had my motorcycle. What a fantastic road climbing, twisting up towards Priest Station. At the top we spotted this cute, quaint little cafe and decided to get some food. The burger was outstanding washed down with a Heineken. Sitting and admiring the view of the valley below us was relaxing. It was one of those perfect days, I cant wait to get back there and rent a cycle to blast up and down 120 and eat some more great food at this place. I would like to try the German food, then i will feel like im back in the Alps.

Wonderful food and its so comfortable on the deck. Great view. I dont know the specifics but the owner has a history in mountain climbing and you can feel a lot of European influence in some of the food. I had a great grilled bratwurst sandwich. I think the bratwurst might have been house made or local but not sure. The sauerkraut though was definitely homemade and house cooked chips. Wonderful.

Ordered a Regular size Rib Dinner- Came with a scoop of mashed potatoes, a Shish Kabob, and your choice of soup, salad, or brownie a la mode for 16 dollars. Included about 4 ribs, and left me very full. Robs were very good, brownie isnt anything special but still good. Wait was not long at all, the staff was very nice, helpful, and quick. Great place to stop, would eat again.

Awesome little place right down the road from where we were staying in Groveland. Tomato Basil soup was great. Bobbys Salad was perfect. My wife had the spinach and feta burger and loved it. Finished out with German Cheesecake. The house wine is also a local from Murphys. Overall wonderful experience out on the patio during the sunset. Definately worth checking out.

This restaurant lost one star not because the food wasnt delicious, but because of two other things. First, the bugs... everywhere. Second, because when I looked to the right of my table I instantly realized a picture that was not hung up straight. Im sure you can imagine my reaction, completely terrified. On a side note, the food was very easy to put in my mouth.

I wouldnt recommend this. We were there and stop here for the view. the food is so so. the Waitress asked us to leave as our 4 yr old daughter was eating from her own candy box. Not only that, the waitress threatened around the law which we checked she was totally wrong on. I think they are rude and only have to sell a view.

This lovely Cafe sits at the top of the Priest Grade at highway 120. The food us very tasty. We enjoyed dining outdoors in the fresh pine kissed air. The staff is friendly and very attentive. It was a terrific dining experience. I look forward to visiting again in the future.

As you approach the top of Old Priest Grade, Highway 120 there youll find the Priest Station Cafe. Small and quaint with an outside deck and excellent view of the rolling hills and Don Pedro Lake. The food is great and often there are German menu specials. Prices are reasonable.

Never had a healthier burger and fries in my life! Everything is homemade here. You have got to try their sandwiches and their freshly made potato chips! Cant wait to come back so we can try more of their menu! P.S. the view from their outdoor tables is breath-taking!

We are local and live watching the sunset from the deck dinning area. Its also fun to watch tourists come up the new grade and go down the old grade because the navigation told them to! Just read the sign that says Yosemite is left. Silly tourist

A good place to grab something to eat. My only issue was when sitting outside, there were a ton of flys and my black bean burger was slightly burned on the outside. I did, however, enjoy the selection of food as well as the nice milkshakes!

A very good stop on your way to Yosemite; enjoyed a very tasty angus burger with goat cheese and spinach; the coffee milkshake with a fresh espresso shot (or two?) is very tasty and low on artificial preprocessed tastes :-)

If youre stranded on top of the mountain, this is the place to go. I recommend the chips over the fries. The grass fed burgers are also a bit better. Pro tip: Ask for your chips well done, you will not be let down.

A pleasant surprise in the middle of a long drive. Vegetarian options, very nice patio with views, interesting beers, housemade potato chips, and friendly, reasonably quick service. One of the best options around.

Great place to stop for breakfast on their terrace while driving to Yosemite. Pancakes were excellent, so to the muffin with poached egg, spinach and bacon. Friendly and efficient service topped it all off nicely.
