Cigarette smoking cashier? I really wanted to like this place! The service was friendly, the food and prices were good. But as I checked out I kept smelling cigarettes and thinking somebody must have been right outside the door for it to smell so strongly. When the cashier, an elderly foreign man, finished the transaction he picked up his cigarette from an ashtray behind the counter and took a puff. I was stunned.

Not fancy but by far the best place in Berkeley. The menu has quite a variety with VERY affordable pricing. The food tastes so real and wholesome instead of pre-packaged and whole-saled. And the absolutely cherry is the owner who takes the time to treat every customer like family.

Amazing place. A cafe-deli-grocery combination. Managed to buy my coffee, eat a fresh sandwich (and buy a pint of beer) all at the same time while surfing the web. Plus the owner was really nice. EXCELLENT.

Free wifi, interesting clientele, reasonable prices. The place feels like a cross between a gas station quick mart type thing and a small dinner.
