My girlfriend and I were at the farmers market at St. Phillips plaza this Saturday 1/28/2017 and decided to stop in for some lunch. Sat down at the bar and ordered a couple of beers from a wide range of beers on tap. We asked the bartender, who was playing our waitress, about the oysters. I wanted to make sure the oysters were a good size since they were $13 for 6. The bartender said they were northeastern and medium sized. I guess there should be a oyster size chart because I considered them small, and they were warm. We ordered the falafel wrap since we are both vegetarians and not much else on the menu that didnt have bacon or bacon bits added to it. BIG MISTAKE! The falafel was horrible! It was dry, overcooked, and there was not any of the tahini sauce to be found. I realize that this is no middle eastern restaurant, but if its that bad do not put it on the menu! The bartender warned us that the fries were straight out of the fryer and very hot. She should have warned us that they were burnt and tasteless! If you want to know how anyone can mess up french fries, go to Union and you will see!! I think what got me the most, is that we hardly ate any of our meals (Im talking not even a quarter) and the bartender cleared our plates and never even asked about why we didnt eat. Terrible food and service!! $50 down the drain. OUCH!

Went there for a friends birthday today and got a table, ordered a few drinks with food with everyone at the table, then on my way out wanted to order my friend one last drink at the bar. I ordered. Got the drink, I was waiting for my bill, and Another bartender asked me who I ordered from, I said that bartender over there, the only other bartender there, but that I would also want to pay a portion of the tab from our table. I told him who the server was. He then asked me who I ordered my drink from I said the bartender, the only other one there with you, And said you need to find the server that served you first to order a drink which had been a while, the bar wasnt buisy, its Sunday night, ... so I waited confused... and he was Rudley asking me, then the drinks came and told me dont get mad at me and I said, Im not.....and rolled his eyes at me. The waitress gave me my bill and explained the portion of the food part and not the drink I asked for my friend, so I asked, am I getting the drink for free then??? She said no, they will give you the bill..... I said from who!?? She said the bartenders, same bartender rudely dropped off my bill and Rudley picked it up without looking at me or saying thankyou.

I love the little plaza and the building is fantastic. The furniture was kinda weird, not really sure where they were going with that. The music was horrendous and overly loud. Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift and Nickleback are not my idea of good dining ambiance. Server was great, appetizers came out promptly. Mac and cheese was great, caesar salad was great. Pot sticker wrapper was too thick and chewy, sauce tasted like canned cranberry sauce :( About half the cocktails had ginger beer as a main ingredient, if you like that its good. If you dont, like me, not so good. The rest of the cocktail selection was not great either. Despite the appetizers coming out quickly the main courses took longer that i would have expected considering the number of guests. Once it arrived I found that the steak was so salty it was inedible. The fries that came with it tasted of salt and nothing else, they could have used some kind of seasoning. The fries were also fried with in an inch of their lives and were very dry and too crispy for my taste. The venison that my dining companion got was delicious though. Considering the price I really expected a lot more. I dont think i will go there again at least not for dinner.

ALMOST a dog friendly patio! The ladies chose brunch at Union so we could bring our furry pals. When I arrived with my 2 wieners, I selected a couch where my boys immediately quietly joined my side. The first server suggested, "I dont think the dogs are allowed on the furniture but I have to ask." The second server said the same (apparently, they dont actually know or arent smart enough to kindly explain their rule). To both I replied, "REALLY? I take my boys everywhere and Ive never had an issue." Shortly thereafter, the manager popped out and was RUDE, almost mean. "Maam - PER STATE LAW, the dogs are NOT allowed on the furniture or on your lap...." He continued to bark STATE LAW at me and was extremely rude. My entire experience was ruined. I immediately called the ladies and we went to North where my furry pals are always welcome! I will never return to Union again, with our without my fur babies.

I visited the Union Public House in Tucson, Arizona on November 14, 2015. It was late and I was on a date. Im a big whisky fan (and I mean Scotch Whisky, because if you know the differences in the spelling of "Whisky" and "Whiskey" then youll know Im talking about Scotch.). Union has an enormous selection of Scotch, all the way up to 25 year Glenfiddich and other great drinks. I had a moderate 18 year Glenfiddich and it was great. Whats cool about this place is the ice balls. These huge balls of ice chill your whisky without watering it down. The music was slightly too loud, and the smoked trout I got was above average but I didnt like the ungodly amount of brittle chips on my plate. But other than that, it was good. I recommend this place.

After having a great time, I did promise the owner I would write a review - my first ever. A+ service, A+ atmosphere, A+ service. A+ Food. I have joyed dinner at Union twice. I have to say the place makes me forget Im in Tucson. Great design! We arrived at 10:00 pm and they kept the kitchen open for us to order off the dinner menu. Thanks Grant (the owner- who was present on both my visit)!! The food tastes great and was consistent on both nights. The menu is fun and has choices for everyone. Very reasonable prices for drinks and food. And not a bad place to catch a sports game.

The first time I went with my party, the food was delicious. The fries were really good, and the appetizers blew my taste buds, and the salad was fresh. But the second time we went, everything fell flat. Our fries were just the little buds and short ends, and the BURGERS WERE UNDERCOOKED!!! In fact one of them was RAW and BLOODY. We were very disappointed, plus when we sent the food back, THEY STILL CHARGED US FOR AND UNDERCOOKED BURGER. THAT"S JUST SAD. I TAKE BACK MY RECOMMENDATION. # I WOULDNT GO THERE IF I WERE YOU.
