So, to lay this out clearly the food and customer service from our waitress was just fine. My one star rating comes because of the ridiculous lack of communication and or/training from their management. Me and my fiance, were looking for a location to have our rehearsal dinner, it just so happens that the rehearsal dinner lands on St. Patricks day. So, i had my grandparents in from Tucson and my dad come in from Utah a weekend ago to go visit Thirsty Lion since it was our #1 pick. We had visited with many other locations already, to see if it would work for our party (30 or so people) this location was on the top of the list as it fit what we were looking for a private area for our party and really close to the wedding venue. We enjoyed our meal and discussed our event in detail with 3 different individuals (the manager on hand at the time, the bar manager, and our server) IN EXPLICIT DETAIL!!!! I explained and asked THREE different people if it would be an issue about the date. All three, two of which were together said No its going to be so fun we have a huge blowout party for St. Patricks day it will be great we can close you off from the rest of the restaurant it will be fine. They encouraged us to contact the events manager quickly as their calendar fills quickly. So, my dad who is heading this dinner up for us the next day reaches out to the event manager.......No response for nearly a week, he then finally gets a hold of the event manager and to our surprise says sorry we dont do private events that day. Obviously a bit frustrated my dad says that information could have been very helpful as my fiance and I turned away other restaurants in lieu of Thirsty Lion since it was our favorite. The managers response is a short, "sorry we have been busy with holiday parties." As many of you may know if you are planning a wedding it is already stressful enough. The lack of communication from the event manager to her staff to properly notify them they do not do events on certain days as well as the events managers basic ability to return a message is infuriating. Since we are not having our event there now and obviously will avoid it in the future i couldnt tell you if theyre good or not, but if just scheduling and communicating about an event with this place is ANY indication theyre awful. Thanks for not only setting us back in planning, but for the courteous service and prompt follow up, and garbage explanation.

When J-WoW told me about Thirsty Lions amazingly generous offer to Yelp Elites, I was stunned. All I had to do was send an email stating the day/time my party wanted to show, along with the Elites in my party, and they would provide us with a comped meal, including apps and desserts! Parking wasnt too bad, in their ample lot, and was only a short walk to the front door. Once inside, Tom D greeted us with a smile and a hearty handshake. The interior was spacious, so I took a stroll to survey the estate. This location includes a delightful patio area. We were led to a reserved high-top table in the bar area. Yes, they were expecting us. It was about this time that our 4th, Kazi, arrived. We hugged, we laughed, we looked at the menu. Since the apps were on the house, I had to go with the Sesame Seared Ahi Tuna, since J decided on the Bacon Wrapped Dates. My Ahi couldnt have been more perfect. It was as good as Ive ever had anywhere else. And I shared my wares with the whole table. For my entree, I had to try the Grilled Atlantic Salmon. Once again, the fish was perfectly prepared. At $21, it may be a tad expensive, and generous, for a lunch, unless youre sporting quite the noontime appetite, as it came with a mound of white cheddar mash and al dente green beans. My friends and I were treated exceptionally well by the staff here. Its quite a ways away from my home and office, but I would absolutely return if in the area. Thank you Thirsty Lion management and staff

Dined here for Fathers Day last week. Fantabulous menu with a great beer selection, and free stuff for Fathers Day! Everyone enjoyed their dishes and with 80s music in the background how could you go wrong? Comfortable décor and lots to see if you like to people watch with it being adjacent to the mall. Special thanks to the management staff; very attentive. Our server? Different story. When asked to explain the difference between the 3 Salmon plates they have on the menu we were met with a blank stare and crickets. Wont hold that against them; servers come and go. We certainly plan on making this a regular haunt.

Note: Gastropub (awesome food, upscale bar) This is a THE NICEST venue at the Tempe Market Place. You can not find better service. Food is fall of the bone tasty. Drinks are top notch. I have been here several times and NEVER been disappointed in any way. Manager is always running around checking on the staff and food. Servers are attentive and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place for everything from a romantic date to a happy hour with bros.

The Food was great, service was very sub par. Manager made up for the lack of service from our server. Left with a sour taste as they had troubles running a Gift card I used to pay with, they then chose to run my Debit card for the full amount owed not giving me any credit for the gift card I used. Very disappointed as a manager should of came to the table to explain what was you going on.

Id give it a 5 star but the fact they dont filter their drinking water is just too much for me! The food is great, Ive had the steak as well as the pork with black cherries; very tasty. However if you are going there for a nice dinner dont go on game night its your typical loud obnoxious drunk fan boy scene then. Other than that you cant go wrong...

This place is trash, brought a client here, and the bartender had zero customer service, ignored us the whole time and took over 30mins to get one drink and another 20mins just for our check. We were planning on having lunch but to Lord knows how much longer that would have taken, and it wasnt even busy! Horrible HORRIBLE experience!

Loads of food choices, very large beer selection. A lot of TVs for sports events. A large wait staff doubles up on tables, which gives good coverage but sometimes results in "oops!" but the mistakes are always quickly taken care of . Last two stops in here were flawless, so upped it another star. Tara, youre awesome!

The happy hour was amazing, both in food and drinks. Happy hour drinks are about $4 (beer, margs, wells) and the food is sensational. Appetizers are great for sharing, especially the brussel sprouts, the pear & prosciutto flatbread, and the soft pretzel. 2 drinks each and a full stomach for 4 people @ $50.

This location gets an F at basically everything! Been going to Thirsty Lion for years and this particular location has terrible food quality and the manager on duty at the time of our visit had a really hard time taking responsibility for anything. Just go to the Tempe location... Its a night:day experience!
