Its Thursday Cask Night. You know what that means. First time for me over here and just one hour after they tap the cask. That is what Im talking about. I belly up to the bar but not just anywhere. Due to not well understood mystical law, I sat where the heavy weights sit. Over on the west side where the brewers drink. San Tan brewers and the home brewers. My first lesson in San Tan brewing. So I do the flight of all the brews saving the cask for last. Memorable for me, the Devils Ale and the Hop Shock. As much as I love loud hopped beer I prefer tasting a crisp malt character. These two were my fab fav. But now the cask. The real ale. I drink the sample and place my order. My glass is under the swan neck and slowly the hand pump rocks. So cool. A full shapely glass is in front of me. The grey haired home brewers, who I have been chatting with, sitting at a 90 degree angle next to me, sip from their glass but watch my expressions. I begin drinking the landlords beer. As I sip the cask beer and look over at the guys and I ask "What are you drinking?" They respond and gesture the cask. I couldnt help but be happy. So began the student and masters time together at San Tan.

Love, love, love!! Fantastic food, service, and beer of course! Merchandise selection is solid - check out the thick glass goblet for $9. On my first visit, I tried these beers and apps: - Gordo is my new favorite session beer - a stout with less than 5% and delicious! - Heavy D is a fantastic DIPA. Super hoppy but with enough malt it doesnt bite. - Devils Ale is solid, but nothing set far apart from the rest. - Little D is super hoppy without the malt. Again, good but nothing stellar. - Negro Nitron was a good black IPA nitro. Looks like a stout, but drinks like an IPA. The nitro took some of the hoppy edge off too. Super yummy - hope this one makes it out of pilot stage. - Mad Czar IRS was amazing. Beyond the standard imperial stout smoothness, this one has a ton of rich, sweet flavor that made it my favorite overall. If this doesnt make it out of pilot, Ill be incredibly disappointed. - Hummus with beer bread was so delicious that I may never eat hummus with plain pita again! - San Tan rolls were good, but spicier than expected. These egg roll style jalapeño poppers had a ton of flavor, but youll need a full beer to survive them.

Where to start.. We to begin with my waitress seemed condescending immediately. I appreciate a good friendly and helpful server not one with somewhat belittling undertones. As far as the beer, good stuff, the one I picked was a little heavy but great once I had food. But the food was a big disappointment. My sandwich was falling apart dry enough that I had to ask for sauce. Not too bad after adding bbq and eating with a fork, but I dont think its too much to ask for a sandwich that I can eat with my hands and not have falling out all over the place. My wife ordered a hamburger cooked rare and that was absolutely disgusting. It came out so burnt that when she asked my to taste it I refused simply from smelling charcoal from a foot away. Not to mention my sister had undercooked fish. Fries were pretty good though(:

After asking for a menu, I waiter 15 minutes, then pulled up the menu on my phone. I ordered the "Handcrafted Chandler Club Sandwich" for $10.25 from a passing by server. It came with obvious old food on one side and a half piece of old bacon, no onion, no avocado, and a ridiculously small piece of lettuce on the other half (see photo). When I asked about it, they brought freshly cooked bacon and freshly sliced avocado (15 minutes later), which made the original order look like it had been sitting around for hours. This was my first and last time at the San Tan Brewing Company. Not to mention the poor service and the absent manager who may or may not have been notified of any of this, even after asking to speak with them.

Spent new years here by default because our preplanned restaurant location El Zocalo was too loud and we couldnt bring our little one. We never heard of this location before, the food was pretty good but I gave 5 stars for the service. The host, our waiter, and another employee were very patient and good with my 2 year old who was dropping things constantly. Loved that they had a dino plastic sippy cup with thick bendy straw for him too, very sturdy. 1st Ive seen a restaurant carry that. Chips with trio dip was great. Spice was mild, didnt care for nacho cheese. Best food we had there was prime rib cut, very tastey, potatoes had a bit of kick. We would definitely make plans to come back again.

The brews were okay, the food was edible. The service however was awful. It took our server 20 minutes just to bring our check. He didnt bothered to ask if we needed anything after the meal was served, the glasses were not refilled. He did stopped by to ask if I needed more beer but ignored the empty glass of water sitting in front of me. Our plates sat in front of us for 20+ minutes while waiting for the check with discarded napkins as we gave up on asking for a leftover box. The server never offered dessert, instead brought the check out to the table. I will not return due to the service provided.

Last night was the worst service I have ever received at this bar. We were at a table in the bar area. When we sat down we were asked for our drinks right away. However once I was done with my first drink my glass sat empty for at least 30 minutes before the waiter noticed and asked if we wanted another drink. Once it was delivered it took another 20 minutes for us to get his attention so we could order food. 30 minutes go by and they deliver us the wrong food and didnt even have the right food ready. We then asked for our check and left. I will be back but I hope I dont receive service like this again.

My wife and I head here every Sunday to enjoy not only their great beer but also their great food. I have not been let down to many times since I have been going there. We typically get their buffalo wings, but their brew house nachos are some of the best I have had in the valley. Their pizza are some of the best I have had as well, they put this seasoning on the Brooklyn pizzas that just makes you savor every bite. We also enjoy their burgers as well. I would say one con is they dont let their manager Chad wear his Seahawks jersey on game day. No love for the Seahawks is a let down in my book.

One of my favorite places on Earth- no joke. Went here while in AZ on business, about ten times between a few trips. My coworkers were making fun of me for only wanting to eat at this one place every night, but it was worth it! The staff is friendly and talented, the food is simple yet sophisticated (artistically pub food) and the beer is.. well I dont need to tell you about that. One of my favorite memories was walking past while they were brewing. The AZ heat combined with the strong aroma coming from the brewing are forever ingrained in my mind. Man I love this place.
