I love, love, love brunch - my favorite meal of the day and this Cafe serves brunch 7 days a week. Weekdays are wonderful not very crowded, great ambience, the staff is friendly and super generous with their time. My favorite thing there is the Challah BLT, ask for it with a scrambled egg -- OMG, its gold. That with a cappuccino, and either a Bellini or straight up fresh squeezed orange juice and you are good for the day. The Cafe has been around for 40-years and in this town - thats like five lifetimes, but is says a lot about why they remain in business while others around them are closing. By the way, they have flights of wines - a super way to taste a few wines before settling on something you really like. And they have great entertainment downstairs. I stumbled on this place a number of years ago, felt like I was in side-street cafe in Paris and I just keep coming back for more.

Love coming here for jazz. They always have a few good taps (4 i think), the food is pretty good, not great, but I barely notice because I come for the shows. Wine and cocktails are the specialty. The basement, where the shows are, is long and narrow, one of the smallest jazz venues, and they dont let you down before the show is about to start. Reservations are recommended thu-sat. The bustling service downstairs is inattentive at best, and the iPad entry system slows them down to the point where you want to say, "heres a pen just write it down ". Theres a lot of over-worked-sassy-gay attitude (which is definitely a thing), such that you know if you gripe about the missing detail in your order ("I said twist NO cherry") it may end up in your face. Not that its ever happened to me. I do love this place.

Wow, my wife and I were looking for a good chill jazz spot in NYC after dinner and this place was PERFECT! Very low key, underground spot and the cover charge was moderate but the jazz was AWESOME! We had a fantastic time, had a few drinks and watched the jazz band Hush Point. They are really good- very smooth, in sync with each other and they play my style of jazz. Very technical and they are all extremely talented but the songs were smooth and not too avant-garde. Our server was actually quite slow to bring drinks but the bartender was very attentive and poured my beer very quickly. So the server was outgunned! Ha. This is the ideal Greenwich Village jazz club. Sorry to tell the world but I have to! :) We will come back here next time were in NYC.

Delicious Food, Cosy Ambience We ordered the BLT and burger. Both were delicious! For the BLT, the bacon was perfect, bread lightly toasted, not too much mayonnaise- just right. Burger was succulent and juicy. Side salad was fresh. Only thing I didnt like that much was the Bloody Mary. Its untraditional; zingy but not to my liking. Didnt offer the same kick. Food-wise, portions are not big, just right for those with smaller appetites. Might be too little for those who prefer larger plates. The ambience is lovely and cosy. The decor is stylish and quirky.

Ok so the actual place was fine, went downstairs to see a friend play jazz, great music, but when I got there I was informed that I had to buy $10 worth of food or drink. I had checked the website earlier and it only mentioned a $10 fee for the show, no minimum. Then, when I got the check for my $10 salad, which was not bad, there was a $2 gratuity added already, something that usually only happens for parties of 6 or more. Really shameful how they try to extract money from you dishonestly; I dont really care what they offer at this point I wont be going back.

Love this restaurant, especially because they are open all hours - very handy when you are jetlagged and want breakfast at 4pm or dessert at 11pm. Try the amazing hazelnut bread pudding if they have it, and their brunch set menu is fantastic value. Also love that you can both wine and tea at pretty much any hour - great if you are not in the mood for the same thing as your dining companion. Tables outside are lovely, staff pleasant and accommodating and the food very good. Ive never been to their jazz evenings but hear the are good. A neighbourhood classic!

Además del buen restaurante, el Salón para performances y música se convirtió en un clásico de NYC. La programación es de alto nivel, siempre con dosis de experimentación. Infaltable para los que buscan expresiones artísticas de vanguardia

There was this green stuff on my plate. I tasted it. Still not sure what it is. The water came in a cool bottle that said sparkling water on it but it wasnt sparking. They stylishly served the bread in a cup. There was a lot of extra stuff on the plate too. Stuff you wouldnt eat. The curtains by the entrance were odd to walk through but they added to the atmosphere which was very pleasant. The underground bathrooms were like a submarine and mage me feel like a giant.

Amazing food, very friendly and helpful staff. The owner, Robin, came to our table to help us select a wine flight and chatted with us for a while. The Merguez meatballs were a perfect blend of flavors, one of the best meals Ive ever had. The Magret of Long Island Duck was the best duck weve had outside of France, and the Thai Bouillabaisse was heaven in a bowl, light but creamy. A truly outstanding evening.

Ive been dining and enjoying live jazz at the Cornelia Street Cafe for years and have never been disappointed. The ground floor boasts an excellent fine dining menu, with a romantic decor to boot. Downstairs, a long candlelit room offers live concerts every night. With a fairly inexpensive cover ($10-$15 usually), it is a great place to drop by if youre ever in the village and jonesing for some live music.

This place is practically an institution it has been such a staple of the neighborhood. I went there with my husband after he had just moved from Texas. It was the perfect NYC restaurant for him to experience. The shrimp with risotto was divine. I had a pasta dish in cream sauce with vegetables and sausage. It was brilliant. The staff is very professional, for the most part.

We were there Sunday 5th March for the Django music show. It was fantastic with great performances by all, particularly the lead guitarist, clarinetist, and the bass. Food was perfect for us - cheese board and salad, and I enjoyed a good dark beer. We were in a long narrow room which we found quite intimate. We heard and saw everything perfectly. Roger and Joanne

Ive been here once with friends for brunch (American), and the food was very, very good. I thought it was a little on the pricey side, but brunch in this area is always expensive. It was better value than Patis (slightly better food, but much more expensive), which we had gone a few days before. Price: $15 Overall: A- Frequency: Once Last Visited/Updated: July 2010

I stopped in from the rain on a Monday afternoon, and could not have been more pleased. The chocolate hazelnut bread pudding was delicious, the coffee was great, and the service was very pleasant and attentive without being intrusive. Well decorated, spacious, and ambeint flowing literary conversations by NYU professors. Will definitely be coming back.
