This long established restaurant in Tribeca must be doing something right. In a city where restaurants come and go Kori outpost of American-Korean cuisine as been there for ~14 some years. The restaurant is a small narrow cozy restaurant with high tin ceilings, brick wall was had the perfect ambiance for romantic couples or party groups like ours. We had a large party this evening totaling a party of seven basically taking up 1/3rd of the restaurant. The service was friendly, helpful and excellent. Water was always filled and good attention to the table. Back to the reason why I wrote American-Korean verses Korean-American. If you are expecting BanChan for the table. Dont. Expecting KimChi for the table. Dont. We arent on 32nd Street Toto. The table ordered the usually favorite with some new mix to try. The seafood & scallion pancake, ribeye & mushroom pancake plus the chicken KangJung to start. The pancake were thin, mild, dry and kind of crunchy. Almost pizza like. The chicken was pretty much chicken sesame. Entrees as Eel Bap and Salmon Bap. Kimchi Tofu Pork Stew. Spicy Baby Octopus Pokoom. Kimchi Pork Belly to round out. The bap mixed at the table and spicyness can be adjusted to taste. Although, we are use to the red pepper but here it looked like some spicy mayo mixture. The Baps are basically a sushi roll deconstructed in a bowl. You got the eel. You got the rice. You got the avocado. Yup, you read it right. The Salmon Bap was the same. Even so the Eel Bap was good. I wasnt a fan of the slightly slimy seaweed with rice. The Kimchi Pork belly was also good even if there was a distinct lack of Kimchi. Of the dishes the spicy Baby Octopus was truly spicy on the hot scale. It was overcompensation for the Korean side for the finish line. The one disappointment was the Ssam which everyone was eager to share and a favorite. Unfortunately, as western style dictates in only single portion, so pretty much unshareable. Kori isnt your moms Korean Kitchen but more of the Sandra Lees Korean Kitchen. It is a bit inconsistent in its Koreaness. It strives the balance between assimilation and its roots. It is an outpost catering to the Tribeca crowd where the menu offers enough Korean sounding dishes for the bourgeois to think they are eating on 32nd row.

Came here with a LivingSocial coupon, which costs $70. There are plenty of food and alcohol for two people. They gave you two small appetizers and two big appetizers and then 2 bibimbop (stone pot rice bowl with meat or seafood) and finally desserts. We started with some cocktail each and I really enjoy my girly drink and it is tasty. For small appetizers, we got the crispy duck salad and it was good but I just wish there were more duck meat. The other appetizer is wasabi shrimp bomb and they are fresh, light and spicy. For big appetizers, we tried their seafood pancake and spicy noodles salad. I really enjoy these two. The seafood pancake is pan-fried and very crispy and has a good amount of seafood. The other spicy noodle salad is unique and absolutely spicy. Since I enjoy spice, I love this dish very much. For entree, we both the beef and tuna bibimbop and they are very good! I really like the toppings they put in the bowl and the seared tuna is fresh and tasty. We ended our dinner with some green tea and chocolate ice cream. At that point, we were both stuffed! Would love coming back again for a low key, romantic spot for Korean food.

Brought a friend of mine to try this restaurant that went through new management. I must say that this restaurant is excellent! We visited during the Tribeca movie festival and ordered the prix fixe offering. We ordered the blue-fin tartare that was delightful. The tartare was very subtle and refreshing. Our next course was a tofu dish that was deep-fried, with sauteed mushrooms inside and wrapped with konbu! It looked like a gift box! I never tried this and was pleasantly surprised. Our final course was the blueberry galbi. It was well seasoned without being overwhelming of garlic. Kori is a very nice Modern Korean restaurant and look forward to visiting again. A final note, to grade a great Korean restaurant, it is first kimchi! If the kimchi tastes fresh, you know the restaurant will be very good. The kimchi here at Kori is very fresh and there is no MSG. Also, the cocktails here are very interesting too!

Tasty, good quality food in a nicely decorated yet simple restaurant. I would probably go back, but I give this three stars because they gave me the wrong order. Being my first time at the restaurant I thought, when I received my meal, maybe I had just read the menu wrong so I didnt notify anyone. But once I received the bill I saw it definitely wasnt the name of what I ordered even though I confirmed the dish with the waitress when she delivered it to my table. On top of that, it was spicy and I specifically picked a menu item without spice because Im sensitive to heat. Overall, it still tasted delicious! Just disappointed in the service but that mayve been a one time mistake.

I have been here several times for lunch only. Five stars is to me really out of this world, and they are not that, but what they are is consistently good, friendly, and professional. Tribeca is an expensive, and although the lunch isnt cheap, its reasonable for the area. I drink water and walk out after 20% tip typically having paid $17, so expect $20 and up if you get a beverage. The portion size is respectable. However, if you compare them with the Korean restaurants in Chelsea they probably come up a little short.

We had a reservation there that we made 2 weeks ago. We had friends all excited about this "new hot place". Well, they call us up less than 3 hours before the reservation to tell us that they decided to have a private party and, I quote, "dont show up"! I have never dealt with such a rude place in my life! I dont care what the food is like, if you dis-respect your customers like this! Everyone, remember, "Dont Show Up!"

Had dinner with my brothers and their significant others here. To start, it seemed like they were short handed because the two waitresses seemed to be running around. But even though it took us a bit to actually order our food, everything else was great. The food was delicious, drinks were reasonable, and the atmosphere was nice. Its a bit of a tiny place but fit the 6 of us comfortably.

Venus à 4 en ayant réservé, nous avons dégusté 3 différents Bibimpap : tofu, boeuf et saumon. Tous excellents. De plus le lieu est agréable et le personnel sympathique. A conseiller donc.

Good service and ambience, but this place does not serve authentic Korean food. The Kimch and Pork Belly noodles I got were buried with Gochujang (Korean red chili paste), which is not how it should be made. My friend got Kimchi and Pork Gop Dol Bibimbap and it was also poorly done. Will not go back to this place.

Better Bulgoki than K-Town. Cozy atmosphere, good service and delicious food. The hot stone bowls made the rice crispy and extra tasty. It can be a little bit of a tight squeeze as the restaurant is not that big. Parties of more than 4 might have issues getting a table during prime times.
