The worst experience at a restaurant I have ever had. A group of about 9 of us decided to go there after work one Thursday around 4pm and were told upon arrival that they had a lot of reservations and could not seat us. Pretty much the whole restaurant was reserved by several different groups except a few tables with people eating already. WHO DOES THAT??? we were offered to sit outside but we were not allowed to open the umbrellas due to the fact that one broke on a previous windy day. It wasnt that windy this day either. That was not an option because one in our party could not sit in the sun for extended periods due to medical condition. So we saw a line of 6-7 booths along the wall, and asked if we could sit there and just split our party up between 2 booths. We were told ok then the hostess left (I assume to set up) but returned shortly and informed us we could not sit at the booths. Our only option was outside or nothing. Before I left I asked the hostess "Those booths do not have a reserved note card on them, are they reserved?" She said no, they werent reserved but we could not sit there they are only for parties of four. WTF!!! They basically turned away our business that Thursday and now FOREVER!!

I have frequented this establishment several times over the past two years. I took my family this time because I love their homemade chips. My son has a dairy allergy and asked for his sandwich without cheese. Our server brought our food and the sandwich my son ordered had cheese on it. We brought it to the servers attention and he immediately took the plate back. My son was brought a new sandwich without cheese. When our bill arrived, my sons sandwich was on the bill twice. The server explained he would take one off, but that he had to pay for it because of the mistake! He stated that he was going to save the sandwich for later and eat it since he had to pay for it! Of course, I felt bad for the server, but is this normal practice to punish the employees when they make a mistake?! I am now rethinking about returning to Grand Tavern even though their food is great, service is fast and friendly; I dont want to support a business that mistreats its employees...

My husband and I, with another couple, recently had and early (6PM) Friday evening dinner at Grand Tavern. The food was average, the wine tasted like the cork, and service was adequate. Just over an hour into our visit (7:15), we paid our bill and were finishing our drinks when the server told us we had to leave now. Our time was up. This was echoed by the manager that we asked to speak with. Yes, by this time the restaurant was beginning to get busy, but there were only a couple of people waiting for a table. We were not asked to leave, we were TOLD to "leave now". Neither the server or the manager even suggested or offered to let us finish our drinks at the bar. There was nothing special about this establishment and with this very rude treatment, I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing meal.

Walked in sat down with 6 others at a tall table for some beers. The waitress comes by and just stands there looking down at her tablet. No hello or how you guys doing. So we just let her stand there. She walks a way then come back and takes the order. Another few co-workers stop by sit down and another waitress comes by, and takes 2 of 3 orders and leaves one guy without ordering. The staff is unfriendly and slow. This was happy hour which was a little crowded but the staff should be able to handle. Almost forgot, the Sam Adams ordered was skunked. We mentioned this to the waitress and she acted like it was normal. As we were talking to her, the bar was emptying and changing the keg. Definitely not going back to this poor establishment.

My husband and I usually love this place but dining this past week was awful! I would give it zero stars if I could because our food was cold, and the service was terrible! We always have great service when here and most of the girls are very friendly. The name of our server was Sonida and she was very rude. She was almost non-existent and acted as if we were bothering her. We could see her standing around talking to another server and did not even bother to check if our food was okay after someone else brought it out! The manager had to come over and bring refills to the table as well. The place was not very busy for her not to check back in on us. Needless to say, I will not be dining at Grand Tavern anytime soon!

On Sundays from 4-8pm they have an unlimited pasta buffet that sounded interesting. So we decided to go give this place a try since a lot of my friends already love it and are regular customers. The food, service, and atmosphere were all great and I am putting this place in my regular rotation. They also had a lot of drink specials going on but I did not have any this time since the kids were with me. This place is very family friendly and they even have a kids menu. I think i am going to try their brunch buffet next weekend from 10am-3pm. Hopefully I can get up here one day without the kids so I can try some of the drink specials.

Terrible, horrible, no good, very bad management. Chris, the "proud" owner, avoided handling an issue with patrons. Its because he was wrong and his staff was wrong and they all dropped the ball. Instead of acknowledging that and rectifying the situation, he hid behind a wall and threatened to call police when there was nobody breaking any laws. Witnessing all of this showed me that my business wouldnt be valued there, so Id never return. If youre going to have horrible management, youd want to have better than average food. Since that isnt the case, I cant find a redeeming quality about the restaurant and wouldnt return.

Went for the pasta buffet and what a great experience. The dish is finished by the chef in front of you with your choice of ingredients and sauce. Pasta buffet goes beyond actually with other entrees like salmon fish, fried squids, steamed vegetables, meatballs and pan fried chicken breast. Excellent value/price ratio. Will return to try happy hours and watch the many sports tv channels. Although we opted for the buffet the attentive waitress was very helpful in refilling water and checking about any need.

The food is pretty good here but the service is HORRIBLE. They arent ever rude... they would have to actually be THERE to be rude. I swear we wait for our server for more than 50% of the time. I am now just a carry-out customer but even then, I waited 10 mins for a bartender to cash me out while 3 other servers were standing and watching me. I ending up calling into the restaurant to try to get someones attention - only to be put on hold...

Great food with decent prices. They also have a very large variety of beer on tap too. Ive been there at least 10 times and Ive never had a problem with the service. Its true they do tend to disappear every now and then, but its not an issue when I need them. Tons of sports on the TVs, great burgers, sandwiches (especially the club), great home made chips and the Nachos are enormous. Youve been warned about the Nachos. Great place.
