I took my family there, and really wasnt that happy. First of all, they set us at a little bity, table that was literally shoved up against the fire exit. Blocking the fire exit. No only is this against the law, its very dangerous. The fire exit door had duct tape sealing off the cold air, another dream for a fire marshall. 2ed There were 5 tables with 6 chairs each within 5 feet of us, two of which had 2 people seated at them. 3ed The food was fair, but I cant blame them for their menu. None of us finished our meal completely, we had to wait till the manager came by to get more chips and salsa...they really gave us the feeling of being in their way. I will say that our waiter, a tall thin hispanic gentleman was very polite, and friendy.... For a $50 dollar meal, with my family, I would have expected much better seating, the table we were at was so cramped that the servers twice bumped into me in passing our table on the way to other tables, this was the table we waited 20 minutes for. I understand when a place is busy, however, I would have waited longer for better, not to mention it is against the fire code to sit us there.

Its a very typical Mexican restaurant. It plays it very very safe and you get exactly what you expect. All the typical Mexican restaurant foods are there, its pretty much exactly what you would expect out of a 3-star Mexican restaurant. The thing that bumps this place up to 4 stars, in my opinion, is the fast, friendly service. Its easy to go to any Mexican restaurant, get generic service, and get it at an average pace. Here, the food comes quickly and the quality doesnt suffer. Servers are always very alert and aware of how tables are doing, and youll very rarely, if ever, find yourself looking for your server. Nothing makes this place super exceptional, but it definitely does stand a bit above a generic Mexican place.

We went there for dinner and ordered chicken Fajita, one of the worst chicken fajita we had , chicken was not cooked all the way green pepper and onion were raw, no flavor to the meat . Manager came and I asked how was the food? My response, " do you want my honest opinion, this fajita has no flavor of Mexican food" he shrugged his shoulder and walked away with a dirty look at his face. Never bother to say sorry or any kind of comforting words. Cashier was equally very rude as well. There are so many good Mexican restaurant in Louisville and El Toro is not one of them. Lousy food and very rude management. Tom Smith 2/7/2016

El Toro is a great restaurant with perhaps the absolute best service I have ever seen. I visited the restaurant once, and three months later the manager recognized me by name when I showed up again. Ever since then I continue to return often and he even gives me discounts purely for being a frequent customer. I always get the number 6 with beef. No rice, double beans. The tacos are delicious and are not just a pile of grease. It is a truly great restaurant that I hope continues to thrive.

Im surprised to read other people having bad experiences here. My girlfriend and I recently made it a mission to find the best Mexican place in Louisville and this one was one of our favorites. A little pricey but really reasonable for the amount of food you get and the flavor is just fantastic! Definitely worth making a special trip to check out. And if you like to drink they have really good margaritas! We give it four thumbs up.

I have lived here for around two years and LOVE mexican food. Once I found this place, we have become very loyal customers. We have taken several people there who have all had wonderful comments after. We even drive past several other Mexican places that we have tried and do not even compare. El nopal which is within a mile of my house sends me home with open burritos and food I throw away bc its so disgusting!

Awesome staff, manager is very attentive and accomodating. By far the coldest beer on tap in the city! I get a 22 oz Modelo and it is cold to the bottom every time. The service is outstanding and the food is delicious and delivered to the table within 10 minutes. Friendly family atmosphere and live entertainment on certain days of the week.

We absolutely love this place. The service is great! The food is delicious. The Margaritas are 2-for-1. My only complaint would be that the Salsa is not hot enough. My favorite meal is the Carne Burrito, which has steak in it. Awesome! The queso is average...if youre going for queso with your chips, go with the queso with meat in it.

My family goes to El Toro at least once or twice a month and really likes it. The service is helpful and friendly. The food is good, although the entrees with shredded chicken are a little dry. Fajitas, burritos supremos, enchiladas verdes are some of our faves. Childrens menu is affordable and kids like it. Definitely recommend.

My wife and I dine at El Toro at least once a week. We absolutely love it! The food is great, the atmosphere is terrific and the service is outstanding!!! We would highly recommend El Toro if youre in the mood for great, authentic Mexican food. Be sure to ask for Ernesto if you dine here. He is the best! Enjoy!

My husband I absolutely love eating at El Toro. The service is always great and the food is wonderful. I have even branched out and tried new things-all greay! Everyone is nice from the hostess, servers, to the manager. We will keep going back and recommend it to our friends.

What separates one Mexican joint from the other? The staff and the food. El Toro has good food but it doesnt place it in its own dimension but the service is the best I have ever seen, maybe at any type of restaurant. The lunch buffet is quality and well priced.

This restaurant prints coupons, but doesnt accept them. I told my waitress that I had coupons before I ordered, she said it was fine. When it was time to pay my coupon was suddenly invalid. If youre going to print and distribute coupons, you need to honor them.

We have been regulars to El Toro for about 2 years now. We go there at least once a week. Food is fantastic and the people are the most friendliest among all mexican restaurants. They have a buffet now and the price is unbeatable.

Lunch Buffet is great! Service is hit and miss but everyone is friendly. Wish that they had cheese dip and desert on the buffet but one cant have everything! Price is unbeatable!
