Ive Had It!!!! Its been a little over a year since a client of mine introduced me to the wonderful app that is ScoutMob. Being a foodie and resident of Smyrna I felt very blessed as I often get bored with my dining choices out here. Ebony & Ivory were the first on my list. I was very pleased. I think Ive pretty much gone through the menu. But I must say the kids and I favorite were the sides (any) and the tacos. Specifically the brisket, pork and chicken. I used to rant and rave about them to anyone that would listen. And if someone had time, Id take them up the street myself! Id get praise for the welcomed intro to great food AND great customer service. You couldnt go wrong with E&I. Im disappointed to say that they have lost my heart. First I noticed the change in the sides. The greens became less flavorful, and seemingly mixed old and new batches. The mac n cheese lost its creaminess and turned into more like a chore to consume. Dont get me started on the Sweet Potato fries. Fries just should not be presented for consumption in that manner. I tell myself that they started off thicker and sweeter, I was addicted. Not anymore. Now they are thin, over cooked and not sweet at all. Long story short I stopped ordering sides, then avoided E& I all together because my brisket tacos were loaded with more fat than meat and the pork was dry. Today while driving around I had a taste for that delicious white bbq sauce that bathes their tacos. So I pulled in to get enough for the kids and a visitor. Big mistake. Fatty tacos and my daughter almost lost her tooth on what looks like a bolt of bone and marrow which is confusing in itself seeing as how she was having a shredded pork taco! This will be our last visit. I cant vouch for them anymore nor give them the benefit of a doubt in times of craving. Wish I could add a pic but Im not seeing the option to do so. Damn, smh

Since the new restaurant opened on South Cobb I have been there 4 times. Every time I go in I am forced to order things that I did not want because they dont have an item on the menu. The first time on the sampler they did not have wings. The second time no Macaroni and cheese. The third time no lid for the cups for take out and just today 12/1/2016 no macaroni and cheese so I had to settle for greasy French fries and the top of the take out box was dirty. I dont know if it was scuffed or something spilled on it or what but it was not appetizing. I love their food but I cant deal with not having menu items. Im going to give it one more try and if they are out of something that I want Ill never go back again. I dont mind spending $12.00 on lunch every once in a while but when I do I expect to eat what I want. They are not giving me anything for free so I want the sides that I want. Clean the tables off when customers are finished, do a little scrubbing, and cook the food you have on the menu and I will give you a 5 star rating.

So the rib tips must just be horrible?! The young lady below and I seem to have had the same TERRIBLE experience with this place. So this is my first time visiting the new location. Its been so long since my last visit i dont even recall what I tried, but Im sure it was way better than this. I order the rib tips with Mac n cheese and fried okra. I received charred tips, flavorless "mac n cheese" and okra fried so darn hard they sounded like ping pong balls when i dropped one on the table to show my friend the disgrace. Hed ordered a pulled pork sandwich with sweety potato fries. His pork was dry and fries OVERLY fried. Like come on man, i didnt want fried sweet potato skin! This was jus awful and Ill never return nor recommend ANYONE to waste their money here! Then on top of all of that, they give you ONE tiny cup of bbq sauce. (Which was the best thing i tasted along with my sprite) Dude, be real. If youre gonna BURN peoples bbq at least give em a few cups of those sauces to wet the meat a little! Sheeeesh!

Horrible customer service and horrible food. I ordered the rib tips with the sides and my ribs were charcoaled and my Mac and cheese was hard as a rock and had no type of flavor I didnt even taste any cheese. Then I went back for a refund after 10 mins of having my food and the cook told me he was offended so I told him hey its just business and my husband was a cook and worked at cheesecake factory and I know how food is supposed to be and he laughed and said okay and I can just take the food with me and give it away. and the other fella he was a light skinned young black man was being rude rolling his eyes and didnt apologize for anything and rudely forced my money in my hand and roles his eyes with a big smirk on his face like he had on his face the whole time he was doing the refund transaction. Never again will I go back. Poor quality of food.

Ebony & Ivory is my go-to pulled-pork place! I always ask my husband to pick up an extra pound or two so that we can make sandwiches for lunch with the extra meat. Food: - Pulled-pork = Delicious! (not dry or overly fatty) - Fried okra = My husbands favorite - crispy and delicious - Sauce variety = Good options (sweet, peach, hot, mustard, white) - Fries = Ok, but nothing special - Brisket tacos = Extremely delicious but sometimes a bit fatty; white sauce on these - Pulled-pork tacos = Delicious; white sauce on these, too - Buns = Dry; toast or heat in microwave to revive them Service/Location - Call ahead because it takes a while to put the order together - Friendly service - Good price; much better than Jim-n-Nicks down the street (and, much tastier) - Take-out only

I only ordered beef brisket tacos. Awesome!!!!! However, I need an adult at the register to be able to answer questions. AND CLEAN THESE TABLES PLEASE! And stop giving dirty trays.....ugh! My first time since they moved into this new location. Tried to look for the health score - NO LUCK hummmmm. Will try again, but from the recent reviews, extremely hesitant to try the sides. UPDATE : tried again yesterday. MUCH better service. FOOD: Beef still good, I like his potato salad, but if you dont love mustard dont try it. Smoked wings great flavor, some burnt black on one side so not so good. Greens..... Wont order again. So, still 3 stars. I know what I like from them, and will be back to get those items only. (tacos perfect!!!! )

Born and raised in Texas and prefer brisket. Have eaten at E and I probably 6 times previously. The brisket is by far the worst brisket I have ever eaten in any BBQ place in the country. Their pork is ok but not smokey enough. Ate there May 27, 2017 at about 4:30pm and was only person in the place. Ordered a sliced brisket sandwich as apparently I have not learned my lesson. Keeping to form the sandwich was about 30% pure fat, not edible. They dont trim cap after cooking. The only reason I have gone there after the first time is because it is closest BBQ place to my home. Will not go back again, and just travel further as it is probably a good bet the brisket has got to be better. Cannot possibly be worse.
