After doing some business on a lazy Monday afternoon, my fiery foxiness fiancée and I were ready to enjoy some good eats while in the area. I went online to check out the restaurants near us. I spotted Spinners and knew where we had to go for lunch. Id always wanted to eat here, but never seemed to be in the area at the right time of day. Fab fiancée had dined here quite frequently in the past. Right away I knew we had good karma.I could tell this would be a moving experience.(Oh no! Not THAT pun!) We got a parking spot right up next to the building! Yay! We entered the clean lobby area acting like we knew where to go. While waiting for the elevator to revolving fooddom, we perused the menus posted on the wall. A feast for the eyes.... Up, up and away! We were seated immediately. NOTE: IT DOES NOT MATTER where you SIT! Every table is guaranteed a wonderful view that changes constantly. Stay for an hour and you have traveled all 360 degrees of the compass, gently and quietly. Travelling clockwise, were moving at a leisurely 6 compass degrees per minute. Our initial view was looking Southeast towards Boca Ciega Isle and Boca Ciega Bay. Brian D was our escort/guide/server throughout this sojourn. He was very pleasant, professional and really made us feel welcome. He highly recommended the Clam Chowder, so I accepted his counsel. By the time my delicious mollusk amalgamation(Clam Chowder) arrived we were looking South, down the narrow strip of tourist terra firma with The Skyway Bridge in the distance. So cool! Fortunately for us, by the time our meals were deftly placed in front of us by Brian the Magnificent, we had a breathtaking view of The Gulf of Mexico! The view, the ambiance, the expectation. All this. I could see the winsome look of love surfacing on Fab Fiancées face! (Me, doing my happy dance!). Food-wise, heres the rest of the story: Her Fiery Fineness ordered the Plaza Salad. Its a wonderful Spring Mix with mandarin oranges, Craisins, tomatoes, red onions, Gorgonzola cheese and toasted almonds splashed with a mango citrus vinaigrette. This was the perfect salad! Very light and fresh! All of the flavors mingled well to delight the taste buds without a hint of You shouldnt be eating this!..... I ordered the Cuban Sandwich, consisting of slow roasted pork, ham, salami, Swiss cheese, pickles and chipotle Dijon mayo on pressed Cuban bread. I chose Cole slaw to complete the dish. I have to say, this was one of the best Cuban Sandwiches Ive had the pleasure of intermingling with! Understandably, there are lots of variations to this venerable sandwich! Spinners Cuban Sandwich really deserves kudos as to how great this sandwich can be! Muy bueno! We spent a delightful revolution and a half(an hour and a half Earth timewise). All the things youd desire for a wonderful lunch fell neatly into place. Or perhaps, floated into place. The only negative part of our experience was the realization that soon we must step foot onto solid, non-moving ground. We must go home. Before leaving, we had the chance to meet Gina, the manager. She was bubbly and fun. We talked and talked and talked. She was genuinely interested in hearing our stories and in ensuring we wanted to come back. Hold the elevator! Were getting on! Oh, and save a sunset or two for us!

We thought wed go out for a fun, elegant evening at a fancy restaurant that spun around like CKs used to. The evening started with a long time between being seated and our server taking our order. Other than that Cathy did a great job and was very attentive. Then with a strawberry daiquiri that did not taste like it had any alcohol in it, and also needing more strawberries as it was pretty weak in that department as well. Of the two ice waters we were served one had to go back as it had a brown tint to it. I ordered the parmesan-crusted salmon which came undercooked so it went back. What seemed like a long wait later - probably 15-20 minutes - the salmon returned properly cooked, but a little on the dry side. The maître d offered to make good on the salmon by offering us a free dessert, but after the experience with the entrée I didnt care for anything more from them. The risotto had large chunks of some toothy mushrooms that almost felt like strips of clams to put down. Vegetables were bland and uninteresting - plenty of onions and some zucchini and yellow squash. The dip for the bread consisted of olive oil with a scant sprinkling of herbs that added no flavor so we had to fix it by adding salt and pepper from grinders that we had to ask for because they were missing from the table. My friend ordered the mahi picatta, a glass of Bogle Merlot and a glass of Prosecco. The mahi was cooked perfectly, but the picatta sauce was a little thick. The veggies were cooked just right and the potatoes had good flavor, but were cold. Our total bill came to $102.69 with a 20% tip, not worth the panoramic view.

“Cold food and complete indifference by Manager.” I was in a party of four and we were looking forward to eating here. We ordered our food. The appetizers were very tasty. then out came the entrees. Two of the entrees were fish and the ladies raved how delicious they were. I had ordered the "Herb Crusted" prime rib and the other Gentleman a steak. The steak was cooked correctly but the vegetables were room temperature. My prime rib came out and the plate was room temp. I sampled the prime rib and it was COLD. Not only cold but no evidence of a herb crusting. I tried the vegetables and they were room temp. I get the server and tell her about the cold food she was not very interested. I asked for the manager and told him . His response was "I can warm that up for you" (microwave). I said no I did not want warmed up food and with that he left. No offer of a new plate of food ,no apology, no let me look into this . To add insult to injury I was charged for my meal. I went back the next day to talk to the manager, Jordan. His attitude was oh and he would look into it. I asked why I was charged for a cold meal I did not eat. He had no answer He gave me his card and said to see him the next time I went there to eat. I realized his offer was nonexistent as he never wrote on his card as most managers would to say give this guy a discount or free drink. The complete disinterest they had when confronted with a cold meal was incredible. Needless to say, Spinners will never get my business again.

I have attended this restaurant several times and always make a reservation. I made my reservation 2 months early and when I didnt get my usual confirmation call, I called the restaurant just to make sure they had my reservation. The Restaurant Attendant, Courtney, told me that she didnt have a reservation for me. I explained to her how I come there several times a year and she even pulled my old reservation history. She went on to say that my reservation was for the day prior which wasnt correct because I booked for my birthday not the day before. I asked for the supervisorry whom she wasnt available so I left my name and number for him to call me. Upon receiving his call, he never let me explain how there was obviously a mistake in them keying my initial reservation. I just said I wasnt welcomed there even though Courtney gave me a 930pm reservation for tonight. I asked myand he said that Courtney said I use profanity in speaking with. I told him I never spoke in that 5 one to her all I was doing was following up on my reservation and ask for a supv. Court ey lied and told him that and he told me that I wasnt welcomed there. No explanation or anytime. If the workers lie like that just because you ask for the supervisor.
