The shorter list would be the waitress was nice and attentive. Start with the appetizers, the crab cake looked like a fried chicken patty and tasted mushy, the fried mozzarella was burnt and bland. The bread for the table cornbread was mushy and ice cold. My husband and I ordered a medium stake and beef ribs, the stake was well done and hardly warm and he had to put a lot of ketchup on it to give it any flavor, his sweet potato fries were clearly fried in the same oil as the crab cake as it tasted like fish. I got roughly 8 large ribs but at best 2 bites of meat the rest was inedible gristle and were luke warm at best. Then we ordered for my father in-law take out of a pulled pork sandwich, as he describes its not pulled pork more like grounded food and looked like cat food. Taste was indescribable and not in a good way. The meal was WAY over priced for what we got, they seem to try to pull off a fine dinning establishment. If Im gonna end up paying 100 for a meal I want a dang meal or at least EDABLE FOOD! When we talked and compared to Mc Donald and Taco bell as better food you know somethings wrong with this picture. In the end dont go here, for any sort of food, your time and money is better spent any other establishment. If i could go half or 0 stars i would.

As advertised, the ribs here are pretty good. I dont think they smoke them, so if youre a real rib aficionado, you money might be better spent elsewhere. If youre a armchair rib fan, then I think youll be more than happy with their cuts/sauce. The real reason to go here is for their "Colossal Onion Loaf," which is essentially a brick of onion rings that you can slice like a loaf of bread. Yes, you read that last sentence correctly. The "half" portion is comically large, and our waiter said the "full" was nearly four times its size. The problems with the Rib House are a: the beer selection is limited (which may or may not be a problem for you), and b: its a rib place, not necessarily a BBQ joint. Consequently, you cant get Mac and Cheese, Corn Bread or other BBQ staples. Admittedly, they market themselves as "the place for ribs" not "the place for BBQ."

Outstanding! We had heard about the Rib House 20 years ago when we lived in Fair Haven. When we moved to Guilford, their reputation had reached there also, as THE ONLY Rib House to go to. We had an incredible meal and a lot of laughs. We joined up with dear friends from Fair Haven a couple of months ago to enjoy a meal there. EVERYTHING was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS, just as we had remembered - Delicious food & Fun Conversation, an evening to always cherish Cant do it every day...but when it IS one of those days...there is only one place I think of when it comes to the BEST Ribs, The Rib House in East Haven. (We marked our calendar 2 months in advance to meet at The Rib House and catch up - we were NOT disappointed) :)

I have eaten at almost every restaurant specializing in BBQ ribs in CT, MA, and NYC. The Rib House in East Haven is easily one of the best. What the restaurant lacks in ambience and variety (they only offer babyback and St. Louis style pork ribs), it more than compensates with the outstanding quality and flavor of their ribs. I have eaten their ribs more than 100 times in the past 9 years, both in-house and take-out. Even after moving to Boston and then the Berkshires, I still find myself visiting this little gem of a restaurant whenever I am in town. Its just a few minutes off I-95, and it is definitely worth a visit. No regrets.

The service was horrible. Waited 15 minutes before anyone even talked to us, and it wasnt all that busy. The ribs were horrible, they were tough and tasted like they were microwaved with BBQ slathered on top. I was expecting slow cooked or smoked meat, smothered with sauce falling off the bone. These were the total opposite of that. The meat was dry, tough, had no flavor and just BBQ sauce smeared on top. The BBQ chicken wasnt much better, just some flavorless roasted chicken with BBQ smeared on top. If you want BBQ dont go to this place, you will be sadly disappointed.

Its been on my list to eat at the Rib House, however, last night my friend told me she got sick for the second time after eating there in the past month. No thanks! There is something going on in that kitchen we dont want to know about!!

Havent gone in some time, mainly because the food wasnt very good ... if you want decent ribs, try one of the Chips Pub locations in Guilford or Clinton.
