Today I took my family here for my daughters 14 birthday; her choice of any restaurant in town. She wanted to watch the entertainment of her dinner being cooked on the grill. We made reservations and showed up on time. The Hostess, an older lady, grumpily greeted us and told us to wait as she walked into the dining area. She came back and moments later and said, "Follow Me!" We were seated at one of the grills directly adjacent to another already occupied grill. We ordered our dinners and waited for the show to begin. Once the chef came out with his cart he began talking to the adjacent table, confirming their orders and making small talk...........Then the chef turned around to our table and confirmed our orders and explained he was going to be our chef at the same time as the other table because the restaurant was short handed. The chef proceeded to cook the rice on the other table interacting with those patrons and basically ignoring us. I was thinking, okay maybe he was going to cook our rice on the grill at our table next; but this was not the case he served us rice from the other grill. Next he started cooking the vegetables on our grill then turned and cooked the chicken and shrimp on the opposite table. Basically we spent 70% of the time staring at the chefs back with barely any interaction from him. To top it off he completely forgot my daughters steak, (the birthday girl) until another disgruntled couple at our table asked him about the steak. He did get another steak and cook it to my daughters preference but by this time most of the family had almost finished their meal. I would not recommend anyone go to this restaurant. The food has always been just okay which could be overlooked for the entertainment value........but now you cant even count on have anyone actually cook at your table. Spend your hard earned money and any other worthy restaurant in town. Trust me this place is not worth it.

We arrived at 7pm on a Saturday night. After being told to seat ourselves it was almost ten minutes before we were acknowledged, given menus, asked if wed like some water...anything. We ordered. I ordered a tempura sampler, and four sushi dishes and my friend ordered the teriyaki steak. The tempura samplers was mushy and tasteless. My friend finished her teriyaki steak and I had not received any of the sushi. I ended up canceling the order and leaving. The teriyaki steak was tough and overcooked, the veggies mushy and salad wilted. In addition to the horrible food and service, the mix of adults drinking and the children under the age of ten was extremely high. I found it odd that the place seemed to be used as a place where parents can bring their kids when they want to drink instead of paying for a sitter. Screaming, running, playing children in addition to horrible food and service.

I used to think this place was a great steakhouse until I knew what really went on behind their closed doors. A family member of mine worked there as a waitress in 2011. The workers are treated like slaves and arent allowed any breaks. They have underaged girls serving alchohol. This place is very unsanitary. The owners make the servers put all the leftover fried rice that the customers dont finish in one big pot in the back. When someone calls to order fried rice to go they give them the leftover fried rice. I was in total disgust when I found that out. I am surprised they are still in business. Hopefully someone will report them to the health department so they can get someone to do a thorough inspection on this place and shut it down completely.

We have a wonderful time at Mushashis for dinner! The food is fantastic! Steak, rice, shrimp! Mmmmm! The drinks are awesome! And the service is great! The tricks the chef does with the food are very entertaining! Very fun for a group! Not recommended for a party of 2 though. Youll be placed at a table with other people. Thats uncomfortable. Unless you go to eat just sushi. They have a separate dining area for that. Prices are a little steep though. Overall, great place if you have the cash and want to eat somewhere fun with excellent food! We usually only go for birthdays or parties though. Because of the price and the fact that you should go with more than 2 people, its a special occasion kind of place for us.

Ive been to way too many Japanese Restaurants and i must say, Musashi is truely the best, serving in all areas of the Japanese cousine. They have everything from the world famous Tappanyaki, sushi, and bento boxes. Experience was excellent, food was great, people were extremely nice and fun, and the overall atmosphere is one that has to be experienced. Costum sushi dishes can be made at your request, and type of mixed drink can be specially made. The restaurant is complete with a full tappanyaki dinning room, full bar, sushi bar, seperate dinning room, and lounge. Some nights there is even karaoke night and a dance floor. Take my personal word for it, Musashi is truely the best of the BEST.

We went there a couple of Sundays ago with a couple of kids. They have a coupon there that says "kids eat free on Sunday" and it says that on the menu too right under the "kids menu" part of the menu. They said, "We dont do that anymore" even though its in a current coupon! We paid for the kids, but it was just wrong. I notice that another reviewer commented that they were new owners of the restaurant. I wonder if the positive reviews were from previous owners/management. We wont go there again even though we had been there before on weekdays. You just dont run a business like that. There are plenty of decent establishments in town where I will bring my familys business.

As soon as I stepped into the front door I was immediately seated to the teppanyaki bar. Compared to Benihana and Shi Ra Soni the teppanyaki bar looks the best among all of them! The ambient lighting, red wallpaper, and the showcase of japanese artifacts lining the walls was very impressive (think "classy lounge"). The chef who cooked for us was easy to talk to and was very entertaining. They made a custom roll just for me, how awesome is that? Im not a fan of alcohol, but they have a full bar there too. The food was great, the service is good, the atmosphere is like no other, I cant recommend this place enough. Best Japanese restaurant in Tracy, period.

Company Christmas Party wish we would have chosen a different location. Service awful, out of 11 orders 1 was taken correctly. One main ingredient in my order was forgotten they cooked in back and brought to go. Waitress did not know menu or whether they even had dessert or not. Chef was by far not anything spectacular. No tricks as expected. Had to clear most of our salad and soup bowls to an empty table. You would have thought the place was packed and had a line out the door as bad as the service was.

Overcharged for drinks. When we complained, they adjusted the prices but then added additional items to the bill which brought it up higher than the original. When we complained they said they were giving us a good price and that the menu prices were incorrect. Slow, horrible service.
