I could not give 0 star, so giving 1 star. Worst service. I waited for 55 minutes, my order nerver came and when asked the person who took orders whether the order was forgotten, the person got affended and very rudely replied that no cups for chutneys were available and asked me whether I want to eat or cancel my order in front of all customers. When I asked whether I can talk to the manager, he replied that I can very well file a complaint to the manager and name him as "Arun". I went to the manager and explained what happened and how I got ill treated, the manager immediately said if I want some other item I can be served and just walked away. When the food was served ( this was not the original order even),I wanted to box the food as it was too embarrassing to eat in the place where I was ill treated. When I went to pay, the manager said that he is not charging me for the food as a concession for the mishap. I refused to take his offer and wanted to pay, but he kept insisting and I told him that a free food would not equate with how I was treated and left the food with the manager. I would never go to this place again. I will also make a case with consumer affairs.

Very rude and unprofessional staff. Hate this place. Never go to this place if you have some self respect. It was our first visit to this place. We waited for 5 mins at entrance and nobody from staf acknowledge to ask how they can help us. Then we went to cashier desk, one of guy came and we requested him to get us a table to sit. Guy replied so rudely, what you are doing here? I told him we have been waiting on entrance and nobody acknowledged and that why we came here. He rudely again replied we should have waited at entrance. Never saw so unprofessional staff any where . Then another guy took to us for sitting, table and surrounding was so dirty. Finally we decided to leave without having food. They dont care about customers. There was no owner present at all time.

These guys are great cheats. Last week they advertised that they are serving food with the banana leaf on behalf of Ugadhi festival. This is a south Indian style. They did not advertise anything about the price of the food. Once we were there they charged $18 (regular thali is $ 9.99) for a Thali which was very average one. if they advertise something for the festival we thought that they are serving for the same price with festival special but they doubled the price without advertising. I ended up paying $20 with tax for the below average meal. They charged $8 extra for banana leaf and vada. that was really festival for them not for the customers. I am not going to go to these cheats anymore. No stars.

Ive been looking for a place that does good southern Indian food, and was so happy to find this one. The medhu vada was crispy and hot on the outside, tender on the inside, and the sambar was one of the best Ive had. I wanted another bowl of the coconut chutney as well. The chili uthappam was good, but unevenly poured and the flour was white, not whole wheat, and the chili pieces were just spread on the batter. It was hard for me, as an Anglo, to understand my server, but everyone was very nice. Just a tip, they dont bring the check, you note your table number and find the check yourself at the table at the back. There are some baked goods and drinks there for take-out.

Though their food is good, I have given this rating for their response on phone. Just for ordering a to-go, I have tried more than 10 times. Most of the times I hear busy tone, that is fine. Few times it went to full ring, no answer. Few times someone picked up, but without saying hello they hung up. I really got frustrated with handling of their phone service. I would not recommend to anyone for this kind of service. Once they get more customers, they need to plan better to handle all the areas. One of them is handling phone orders for to-go. But I would say they failed in that area. They need to improve a lot in this area.

We had a very worst experience eating out here at Sri Venkatesh Bhavan. No complaints about the food. But the owner was very rude when asked about the other status and replayed us saying " If you want good food you need to wait even if it is 30 minutes" ease we dont want a hurry customer. And he charged us twice for 2 items and even after we noticed and corrected them they have charged my card including the items. Very very bad experience last night.Be polite and welcome all the people who has come to your place to eat, else its tough for you to continue the business in this competitive world..

Awful service. Ordered 6 items, first for arrived within 15 minutes. The wait staff forgot the other two! Yes, they forgot to items we ordered. After inquiring what was up, without an apology they said that it would take another 10 mins (these things usually take a total of 10 mins). Next the 5th was brought out, but the 6 was skipped again. I asked the wait staff about the 6th, and this guy shouts at me. Never going to return. PS: been here a bunch of times as this seems to be the only Indian restaurant around, and theyve managed to have omitted at least one item every single time.

I could have given even 0 stars if possible. Arrogant answers, no response to phone and no care for customers. I ordered 2 orders of tiffin combo to go and they give only 1 sambar with it. Small issue but way these reacted irritated me to write this here. Took order to realize sambar was missing. Tried to call no response. I finally drive 5 miles to go to restaurant they dont even have meaning courtesy to say sorry and weird explanation i get is they did not have so they packed one. If you dont have it why do you have to take order ? Or it would be good to tell upfront.

This is my favorite place to eat in Pleasanton! It is very popular among the Indian community. The food tastes authentic. I love that they serve interesting South Indian curries, besides the same old dosas that you expect to find in any South Indian restaurant. Their service is still a mystery to me -- not sure if they offer table service! They come to your table for your order, but then you have to go to the front for your check. A pitcher of water is always at your table for self-service.

We had a very worst experience. Waited 45 mins for the order which is for my toddler and they forgot the order. When I told them, they billed twice the owner addressed us in a very rude way. I cant find a 0 star otherwise I would have given it for sure. I had never faced such a bitter experience ever. Its damn worst place so anyone who wants to go dine in do think for a while before you go.. thee are lot more good Indian foods available nearby.. never ever try this one..

Spacious restaurant:was very crowded when we were there reflecting the popularity of the restaurant. Great food - and the staff really tries. Our server, Vasu, was outstanding-attentive and giving good suggestions. However, the place needs to be kept slightly cleaner : paper napkins and straws were on the floor towards the end of the busy lunch session! Would be on my go-to places for the dosas, mango lassi and coffee.
