I used to love hanging out at the Nomad on Brady in Milwaukee (late 90s) when I was a college student, so I was happy to see the Nomad arrive in Madison . I wasnt disappointed at first-- The Jazz band was lovely, and the drinks were great. The ambiance and staff were super cool too. I enjoyed my time there until without warning "Friday fetish night" with a S & M theme began. I had no clue that "Friday fetish night" existed and I felt very uncomfortable and a bit embarrassed because I had suggested the place to my coworkers.

Good variety of music and events here. Expanded draft selection from the Cardinal, still the same great mixed drinks. The small, sidewalk patio is a great place to sit and watch the lake. Staff are very friendly and attentive. One of my favorite bars in Madison.

Staff is super cool, and they have done a good job of keeping this place as fun as it was 30 years ago. Always good music, especially when they go to Brazil, happy hour on Friday is the best!
