We decided to venture here on a Friday evening when we all had a hankering for some Mexican food and were celebrating our 4 year old learning to count to 10 in Spanish - certainly a dinnerable accomplishment! Located on the backside of Glenwood square and was a solid spot for dinner. The fish tank in front of the restaurant was a hit right off the bat as well as after dinner. The restaurant is a bit dimly lit buy it sets the ambiance nicely. It can be either romantic-ish or a family place. The ladies taking care of us were very friendly and attentive as well. We started with mojitos and margaritas. All were excellent and the margaritas were HUGE! Double if not triple the norm. The beer selection was nice and included a good number of local brews, most of which trended towards hoppy. The food was excellent - my best half had fajitas, which were boss. I had the mole de oaxaca - their version of mole and it was delicious. Slightly smokey, a bit of kick and 100% delicious. Little dudes split a burrito, which was more than enough for a 2 and 4 year old. The chimichanga was very good as was the pollo de crema. All in all, this place is a win. It has the appearance of a chain restaurant from the outside, but the flavors are very authentic. Well worth checking out for a trending towards upscale Mexican food experience.

I took my mother out to eat here for the first time. Honestly, the food is very good but Im having a hard time giving 5 stars. Here is why. 1. Its a very dark place. Its all around very dim except for the tables. The lights suspended above the tables are so bright that every time you look anywhere else besides your plate youre eyes have to adjust. 2. Maybe I caught the waitresses at a bad time but my food came out nearly 20 minutes after my mothers plate. She had almost finished her food by the time my plate arrived. 3. Price. I dont mind paying for good food but $18.99 for a plate carne asada is a little too much specially if my plate is not full of it. I expected more. The taste was great but the overal experience was average at best. Tips: 1. Paint the place, or have more lighting. (Is it a sports bar or a Mexican restaurant?) 2. Fix the prices, my plate should have been $12.99- $13.99. 3. Bring the food out together. Leave the basketball games near the bar, no need to have tvs for those dinning in. Just my two cents... Good luck in the future.

If I could give it no stars I would. Went to eat there and no one greeted us and took a while to be seated and we were the only ones there. Got our food but didnt really eat so we took it home. We had a burrito and found plastic in it. I got chicken fajitas and I found a huge piece of plastic in it. Tried calling but they told us they would call us the next day since they were busy. Never received a call so we called back . told us again they were busy and would be called later on and they called us 10 minutes later and said we should have told our waiter immediately and called sooner. Never eating there again.

Overall a good experience. Chillaxing at the bar is quite nice. They have a great selection of Tequilas to look at while you Ponder what your next sip will be. We really enjoyed the xochimilco margarita. The fajitas are definitely enough for two and the service is very nice. For a Yakima Mexican restaurant its high on my list! ¡Salud!

No one can match their margaritas. They are the best in town... and their food is amazing the mole de Oaxaca is the best no one can compare and my all time dish is the Molcajete they add grilled cactus wich makes it even better no one in town adds that touch love it. Recommend its a much try.

Nice, relaxing dimmly lit place. American style Mexican food. I like more spice in mine. All in all it was fine. Two things I didnt like. My chimmey chonga was baked not fried. also my sons food came on a super hot plate with a warning. Pro tip: dont give kids plates that could burn them.

Went with family, there was 6 of us. only one other table had people at it. All of our food was cold, one of them had the wrong meat in it and they forgot to make one of the orders so that person had to wait even longer to get her order. Nice music and atmosphere though.

Super friendly staff every time. Kid friendly. Reasonably priced, and food is very good with some great authentic options. The drinks and drink menu are very good too. One of our families go to Mexican restaurants in Yakima.

If you like tequila, go to Xochimilco. They have so many options. Prices are pretty fair. I have experienced fairly inattentive staff on occasion though. The food is always good.
