We came over for a leisurely lunch after having read about this place for some time. What a great spot in downtown Yakima! The digs here are nothing fancy, but are nonetheless very nice and comfortable. We sat on the patio outside which had a dozen or so tables most of which included umbrellas to keep me from heating up too much. The menu has a good variety of offerings the ranged from slightly eclectic salads, to burgers, flatbreads and a number of more substantial dishes. Everything ranged from $12 up to around $30. I had the Yakima Valley salad and it was absolutely delicious. Greens with bacon, blue cheese, candied pecans and an apple pico de gallo that was absolutely brilliant. It was something weve never seen before, which doesnt happen all that often anymore! My better half of the Chinese chop, and it too was quite delicious. Cabbage, some teriyaki chicken, and crispy wontons all of the lovely Sesame dressing. The flavor was really good and both salads were pretty substantial size, though not big enough to leave you wanting a nap. All in all, this is a really solid spot downtown. I can definitely hear where people are coming from about the pricing, but we felt the food was good enough to justify paying a few dollars more for a salad than you would at Panera. Judging by the amount of people that were there while we were, it seems like most people feel the same way. Im excited to try more things on the menu here in the future!

Second street grill delicious, albeit, a tad on the expensive side. Ive been here a few times recently and I havent been disappointed. The staff is generally attentive and does a good job - but you can expect to pay around $15.00 for lunch. Id love to see a lunch menu with more options that are around $8-$11. I might frequent Second Street a tad more at lunch if prices were a bit more reasonable. In my opinion, Second Street Grill is more suited for dinner. The menu is great and you can get entrees for anywhere between $14-$25. Its a nicely appointed dining area with a large bar area that is full of TVs and a solid assortment of drinks. Its a good place to consider catching a game. They can get pretty busy, so get there a few minutes early for your game.

My husband and I went here before leaving town. It is a very nice, clean, modern looking restaurant. All of the other customers seemed to be dressed in business attire or "fancier" clothes. We waltzed in with jeans and hoodies but we were still treated just the same. I ordered the pasta primavera, while my husband ordered clam chowder with endless salad and garlic bread. My food was amazing, I really enjoyed it. He also enjoyed his food, he kept asking for more bread. The bread was amazing but you only got two SMALL pieces at a time. He asked if he could have several pieces and they brought four. Overall it was great food, wish there were more noodles in my pasta and that the bread came in larger portions but we would love to come back next time we are in town.

My wife and I went to the Second Street Grill August 20th 2013 for our 30th Wedding anniversary, after being ignored for fifteen to twenty minutes we walked out, also how any one can say that their prices are good when a beer costs $8.00 a root beer is $3.75 and a stake is $28.00, you would think at those prices the staff would be all over you to give you great service to justify the prices, I could understand the slow service if they were busy but they were not, there were only a handful of customers . Hmmm maybe there is a reason they only had a handful of customers, I wonder what it could be?

Another great spot, especially if you get to know the folks who make it hum. Sit in the bar area and learn the name of the main people. Grab a beer or soda (try the the Snoqualmie Root Beer - as good as it gets!) and talk it up with them. Im not a sports fan but the bar area is a sports. Still the staff will get to know you and make you feel like family if you put yourself out and enjoy them and what they do. Excellent service, amiable and honest staff in appraising your choices, nice selection of food and drink. An all-around home away from home.

Fantastic Food, Fantastic Service! I was part of a large group (40) of hospital staff from across the state who held a no-host dinner at the Second Street Grill last Wednesday. The service was spot-on! I was a banquet waitress many years ago, and know how difficult it is to serve a large group. Everyone was served at the same time, the food was hot and delicious, and the serving staff were very personable and seemed to enjoy their jobs! I will definitely recommend SS Grill to anyone travelling to Yakima. Thank you for a great evening!

Ive been here twice. The first time I went for lunch we found the downstairs area to be too crowded and filled with children who were out of control and noisy. We went upstairs to the bar and the food was delicious. The second time, I went in the afternoon and we sat in the bar area. My daughter ordered a Bloody Mary with several skewers of food in it. It was a meal unto itself. We also ordered appetizers. I think the avocado bruschetta was the tastiest Ive ever had. We had a wonderful time.

I cant believe this place has a 4.2!!! Tonight was my first time eating here and it was dreadful. The booth i was sitting in the seat is somehow connected to the booth next to us and when someone would sit down would bounce us. So of course we had some fun bouncing them lol. We got our salads literally 1 minute before our over-priced tasteless meal. I mean really, if i did a blind taste test I wouldnt have been able to tell anything apart. Im seriously giving it a 1....just lazy!!

Stood waiting for about 10 mins before anyone would even seat us - not busy at all. When we got seated, my dad ordered a microbrew beer and they gave him a luke warm and uncarbonated beer that seemed to be Ranier. Service was slow and unattentive. They came with bread and butter, then didnt give us any knife to use. Moral of the story is the food ended up being bad, but the service put us over the edge.

Loooooove their nachos; I moved to Oregon a few months ago, and have been searching in vain for some thatre even half as awesome. Those and the chicken strips are absolute must-haves during happy hour, as theyre both only $5-6, and yield sizable and rather tasty portions. I always had good service when I went, and awesome food + awesome (happy hour) prices + good service = 5 stars in my book.

Went there during happy hour, had a drink and some food. Prices were great and food was good. Had the awesome chicken lettuce wrap and the calimari which was okay. It wasnt real calimari which was why the four stars and not five. Service was awsome, they were busy but the bartender provide great service.

Great food. Expect to pay more for each plate, and, food is cooked to order so wait time is a bit longer. Plan ahead if youre going to a show, this place gets packed. Kids menu available. Plenty of adult only seating in back. Look for happy hour menu for fantastic deals!
