Some of the best clam strips Ive had in the Pacific Northwest ! Please forgive me, I forgot to take a picture of them. They were larger pieces of clam that appeared to be battered onsite. It came on a bed crinkle cut fries and two generous portions of tartar sauce. Since I really didnt want to eat french fries, I ordered the mini corn dog side. This gives you five mini corn dogs, which are definitely prepackaged food, but they taste great! The wait time wasnt too long I would say it was less than 15 minutes from when Ive completed placing my order until I had my food in my vehicle. I had been wanting to stop here for years but normally Im just trying to get other to or from wherever Im going so I havent stopped I would definitely try them out again! The only thing they messed up on my order is there were no utensils to eat the coleslaw. Fortunately, it comes in a plastic vessel with a disposable lid which I was able to Fashion into a spoon.

Been going for years. More recently its gone downhill. Today was the last straw. The boss lady was rude to her employee right in front of us all at the window. They seemed understaffed but thats no excuse. The wait was unreasonable. The cod used to be succulent and impressive. My boss ordered it today and said the product was different. It seemed pre-frozen, the portion was about 50% smaller, and tasted like pollock. My fries arrived cold and chewy. I asked for fresh fries and she dumped them back into the frier. I asked for no mayo on the mushroom burger but she forgot and put mayo on it. Were giving Alpen a break for a while, which is a shame.

Consistently marginal food I have stopped at this restaurant multiple times over the years and every time our food tastes like fish when its a burger and fries, milkshakes are huge and cheap but taste like freezer burn. Its such a cute looking place is just too bad the food doesnt hold up. But i guess this is an example of owners that take over a business because its doing well and dont understand why changing the oil is important or using separate fryers for different types of food. Quality is important please respect how cute this place is and improve your food quality so your not screwing tourists over.

Waited 45 minutes for 2 burgers and a milkshake and got the wrong order. When I told the lady working she went back to the kitchen for 10 minutes then came back to give me $10. I thought she was making the correct order this whole time and when I confronted her she wouldnt say anything. Not even a "sorry". I left in a hungry rage. There were also about 20 angry people standing around waiting for their orders for the same amount of time I was. This place used to be a pretty good stop on highway 2 but not anymore with the incompetent morons theyre hiring.

The food was ok, not awful, but not quite worth the wait I experienced. I got a simple bacon cheeseburger and fries. The meal was a little pricey (around $10), and it took a little over 20 minutes to get my food. The staff was nice enough but once I got my food the fries were barely warm and the burger seemed like it sat for 10 minutes before I got it. I feel I would give it another shot because everything seemed quality enough if I would have gotten it fresh and hot. If a similar experience is had again I would likely not return.

Im a vegetarian. I ordered a mushroom burger expecting it to be a MUSHROOM BURGER. Except, it was just a regular meat patty served with mushrooms on top of it. The manager refused to work anything out with me, stating that it should be "self explanatory" I did assume because Ive ordered mushroom burgers before that have been just that. A mushroom burger. Is your veggie burger a meat patty with veggies on top? I wouldve even settled for something half the price, but the manager was just not even willing to accomodate.

Very disappointed. We went here yesterday for dinner, waited in a LONG line of other people ordering food. My husband finally gets to the front of the line just to be told that the grill was closed and he couldnt order any food, even though it was 2 hours till closing and the people in front of us had just ordered food. Very unhappy with the service and attitude of all who were working there. We will absolutely NOT be coming back

A great drive in burger spot. We love the outdoors picnic area, the family and pet friendly atmosphere, the new inside eating area,.....and the greatest shakes around. Rated 4 only because today they stacked the meals in a sack and we had squished burger buns and there was too much salt on the fries.. Still good....still the best shakes.

Milkshakes are mediocre at best. Stopped 2 different weekends, both times, person taking the order was extremely rude. Dont know about the food because was told that it was 45 minutes or more before she would take my order. Go somewhere else if youre wanting food.

The fish and chips are outstanding. For a shack on the side of the road it is deceptively unassuming. The outside seating is quaint but they do have some enclosed seating too. Not fine dining by any means but they dont want to be. Just good food.

Went thru on sat. Excellent burgers, had one onion ring, jalapeño, bbq sause and mayo with chese. One buffalo burger cheese onion tomato and lettice. Both delicious. Fries and jalapeño poppers also good. Highly recommend!

We had the cod, which was fresh catch Alaskan cod. The tarter sauce and the cold slaw and fish were all quite tasty. We went in famished after a local hike and left full. It was definitely worth a stop for us.

Always friendly, good food great outdoor seating a local stop for summer dinner and ice cream cone for kids. On the more expensive side for a burger joint I think but best option by a mile for quality

Great local food! Made fresh to order, so it takes a bit longer but its well worth the wait. All items are reasonably priced too. Definitely one of the better burgers Ive had in recent memory

The best place to go to after skiing at Stevens Pass. Awesome shakes. Good burgers. Fish and chips is good too. Onion rings were yummy. Lot of options at this really small place. Recommended.

I had the Alpen burger and thought it was pretty good. Fries were slightly undercooked, but that was probably due to how busy they were with everyone returning from Eastern WA

People are friendly and service is great. The burgers easily are an excellent example of must-try local eateries. Definitely try it if you are in the area or passing through.

Cute little drive up restaurant with a small town ice cream shop feel. A refreshing break from the big chain fast food restaurants. Huckleberry milk shake is excellent!

Best cod sandwich in town, huge portion cooked to order. Buffalo burger rocks...and reasonable in price. Cant go wrong eating at the alpen.
