The chicken chow mein is bad, the staff is pretentious (although underpaid), and the night manager has himself confused with a tough guy instead of a night manager of a bakery. This place is worse than "Rambo III" (thats bad). And another thing! Apparently the kid working the tables is only getting ten dollars an hour! The minimum in Seattle has been raised to $15. You cant live on what this poor kid is making, so no wonder hes such a wet towel. And the manager makes it sound like its not his fault! So we shouldnt complain about crappy service because you cant pay your employees a livable wage? Ive eaten Maruchan (thats this cheap, crummy ramen noodle that everyone eats in college...something tells me the MANager didnt go) that was better than what Ive eaten here. Id also like to point out that the manager has a hearing problem. As I crossed the street after telling him where to go he said, "I notice that youre voice gets louder the farther away you go." To which I pointed out, "Yes, its called DISTANCE. The farther away I go, the louder I have to yell so that you can HEAR ME. And I notice youre not following me to keep up." And he didnt. So I guess on a shiver scale, Id have to give the joint a negative one for trying and three on the charming scale, because I take sympathy on people with handicaps. You know, like working in a bakery in Seattle at 10 oclock at night.

I believe they were short-staffed last night, and even though it was a little irritating for our group to have waited so long for servers to take our orders (happy hour ends at 7, most of us had been there for at least 30 minutes, and a server came around 6:50 to take our order and even forgot some folks), the staff was nice and apologized for the delays and still offered us the reduced pricing a little bit after 7 to get all of our orders. I enjoyed the pot stickers and crispy wontons, as well as my two cocktails (they werent that strong, but still tasty). My friends found the fried calamari "interesting" and not really what they were expecting as they eat fried calamari often enough, but they didnt dislike it. Also the popcorn chicken didnt seem like it was deep fried long enough (the chicken itself was cooked thoroughly fyi), so the breading wasnt really crispy. I plan to visit again to try some of their main dishes and will go when its not too packed (or hoping they have enough workers) for happy hour.

I have eaten here for lunch and bought several cakes to take to parties. First off the place is definitely a hidden gem. Its not well known nor advertised about on the Hill. They have excellent service, and always are warm and inviting. The cakes are amazing. Some of the most creative and tasty treats I have had in some time. I took one to a part and no one wanted to cut it. They all thought it was a great work of art. When we finally did cut into it, like a slice of heaven. Not sugary and overpowering like you might expect, just the right combination of flavors. For lunch I took a friend there. We live in the same building just two blocks away. I was floored when he confessed "Wow, I never knew this was here". We sat down for the lunch special. I got the General Zao chicken fresh veggies and brown rice. for under $10. How does that happen? There are few place you can get a sit down lunch for that. Fresh and flavorful. I would recommend this to anyone on the Hill looking for a good Lunch place.

Good coffee, excellent looking desserts. Very modern styled setting. We came here for dim sum; each dish was very tasty and affordable. The sticky rice was probably my favorite - just slightly sweet and savory. The rice based wontons/wraps they use for their shumai and dumplings was also very tasty - perfectly textured, and a nice change from the usual. Only complaint is that the dim sum menu is very small, maybe a dozen items, and only one or two might be vegetarian. Each dish also leaned toward the savory, with either pork or seafood, and no fruit or sweet red bean containing options.

Food was great! We came right at the end of happy hour and wanted dimsum but were informed that it was only available in the morning (boo!). Nonetheless, for the price, the food was really good. Service was a bit slow on the day that we came. There were three people working the bar, bakery, waiting tables, and greeting people up front, so Im assuming that we came on a short-staffed day. Our waiters did apologize for the delay in the food. Entree was delicious and was able to take home about half for another meal. Definitely recommended.

Ordered one of the "Chefs Specialties." They took two good ingredients (Pine Nuts & BBQ pork) and then mixed with frozen vegetables. What a joke - reminds me of Chinese food I home cooked in college when under a serious budget. Server asked how was everything - I complained re: frozen veggie ingredients - no response, no offer to help resolve. With white rice was $13.50 before tip. Save your $ and go somewhere else.

I love these ever since an old friend made them for us, but I find it hard to find in the stores. Naturally, I had to try this place. I was not disappointed. Tried a sweet and a savory trumpet...the maple cream butter and the ham and english cheese. Both were great. Only issue is to check the days theyre open. Make sure theyre open the day youre down there.

Bites of bliss. I love cake and this is as good as it gets. I got the strawberry shortcake and princess cake. Oh god, I dont know how they make the cake so fluffy and the fruit is so fresh. This is my to go place for cakes.Plus green apple book store is right across the street so made a fun date of book browsing + cake eating.

The food seems high quality, and suspiciously delicious (i.e., does it contain MSG?) Huge selection of dishes, drinks, and baked goods. Lots of room also. My only complaint is that the service is sometimes terrible: Sometimes no one even acknowledges you when you arrive, and it can take a while for anyone to take your order.

Always great food & service! The ambiance is nice for sitting down, but theres also to-go or the bakery for something quick. The waiter was efficient and nice, and the food came rather quickly. Ive never been disappointed with their food, and it can be quite healthy (though there are heavier options on the menu too! ;-) )

Delicious food! Highly recommend the Fu Chow Fried Rice and Duck Vermicelli Noodles, among many other tasty offerings. Restaurant is laid back and staff are friendly. Regent was our destination of choice for a take-out Chinese New Year banquet, complete with nin go (traditional new years cake)!

I come here about 3x week as crazy as that sounds. My kids love the salt and pepper chicken wings that we eat on our way to swim class. The food is fresh and consistently good. Not mind blowing but definitely worth it. Most people order take out and the restaurant is usually empty.

We had a tasty and satisfying lunch at this place early on a Friday afternoon, and I was surprised how many empty tables there were. It is the best Chinese restaurant for miles, and the dining room is very pleasant. Give them a try. Its a good place.
