First, what you actually care about - whether or not the food is good. My first visit was during a Google Places event, so I got a sampler. First, I tried three muffins, cheddar/bacon, corn, and gianduja chunk. The first was practically screaming bacon, with meaty, smoky deliciousness overpowering everything else (it was also really crumbly, but one is rarely mad when faced with bacon). The corn was pleasant, but I was wishing for something slightly more moist. It was lacking compared to the bacon onslaught. The chocolate/gianduja chunk muffin was sweet, and had the moisture I was missing from the corn muffin. It was like eating fluffy nutella. Next, croissants and pain au chocolat. The source of the pastries is Belle Pastry, a lovely shop off Main in Old Bellevue. The croissant was flaky and butter loveliness. I admit I wanted a bit more caramelization, but thats a point of arguing for pastry addicts. The pain au chocolat had warm chocolate, which simply makes me a happy, happy person. We also tried the grilled cheese. The bread and grilling was spot on, and the onions are a really nice counterpoint to the cheese. I would be thrilled to try that sandwich with a tomato soup for lunch. Now, lets discuss the location. Its close to the Bellevue Regional Library and the Transit Center, making it a really nice spot for people looking for Stumptown Coffee while they peruse literature (it is a bit loud, so be prepared if you wanted silence). The ambience, concrete with modern art, also reminds me of the urban vibe you get from the Stumptown on Capitol Hill. The food is lovingly displayed on ice or in sleek trays, and a gorgeous espresso machine dominates a chunk of the counter. Its like a piece of downtown Seattle in Bellevue. Sadly, the pricing matches Bellevue wholeheartedly. Expect $6 coffees and $10-$15 sandwiches. But come in and have a relaxing afternoon while you study.

Cesura is easily my favorite coffee shop in Downtown Bellevue. Food: Well drinks, as I havent eaten there, are fantastic. The concern and care put into each beverage is obvious -- from watching and from tasting. They work with all the top ingredients [ Stumptown among them ], so its hard to complain. Im unfamiliar with any other cafe in Bellevue using Stumptown regularly. Decor: Probably the highlight of my trip in -- Cesura does a phenomenal job of creating a space that is both comforting and chic. Tables, benches, high ceilings, large glass windows, color palette, and art evoked, for me, something that was clean, urban, and warm. Ive been to several of the top coffee shops in the greater Seattle area -- Cesura hangs with the best, doing away with the somewhat grungy/dirty feel you sometimes have on the West side while maintaining a soul. Youll feel comfortable staying there for a couple hours a time. Service: Great. I was there with a friend and was focused on catching up with him, but the service staff was very friendly and attentive. A lady spilled a glass of water next to us, and it was clear the service staff was far more concerned that she was okay than about the mess that was [ very temporarily ] made. Of course, the staff cleaned up the spilled water quickly and no one felt awkward. Great job Cesura and keep up the good work.

Waked in this morning and ordered a latte w/o foam and the owner was not able to make the beverage. He argued that there was no foam. I have NEVER encountered such a rude, disrespectful, disgusting human like this owner. When I asked to have the foam removed (several times) he stated that there was no foam and for me to speak to him "like a human" is this person for really?!?!? I work with people (all sorts of personality/from all over the world) and I would never speak to anyone the way he did. He felt the need to be RIGHT instead of just accommodating a simple request. And when I asked for a refund (which he practically threw the money at me) he had the audacity to tell me not to ever return. I wouldnt even spit on his business it if it was on fire, let alone return. And rest assure I will let the 1500+ people that I work with and personally know about this individual. The owner needs a class in "customer service" and look up the word "humble" and learn that its not about the customer is "always right" its about knowing how to respectfully speak to your customer. Remember, doors will close without customers. Am I speaking human now?

Would have easily given this place 5 stars with better service. Our family of four, 2 adults, 2 older kids, came here. Were from Portland and wanted good coffee and pastries. The scones and coffee cake we ordered were great. However, we werent impressed at all by the service. The girl behind the counter seemed annoyed by our presence, maybe because we have kids, I dont know. She came off as bothered when we asked her what kinds of scones/muffins/coffee cake were in the case. I asked for room in my French press which she either forgot in 4 seconds or ignored. Though we ordered plenty of items and wanted to sit and enjoy them, they were all put in bags and paper cups, which seemed to send the signal they were hoping we wouldnt stick around. I asked for plates which a gentlemen behind the counter gave me with a kind apology for not asking before. Food and coffee were great, but get over yourself hipster coffee girl. Youre not cool or cute if youre an ass hole to customers.

Ultra cool inside. Ate there twice. Once food was good, a lot to select from. Second time, there was one sandwich in the deli window and a few cookies. Bot a cookie and it wasnt good. Third time brought a client there to grab a late lunch and there was nothing to eat. No food out at all. My take on this is that they are going for the "we dont waste food" concept, maybe because they are conserving on cash until they get going. I dont think this is the way to get the buzz out. They should fill the deli window with piles of delicious treats and when they run out, they should pull out a tray of more delicious pastries, piled high. There is a saying, "if you build it, they will come". This isnt that. My loss, because they are across the street from my place and I would have stopped in frequently. A guy cant live on coffee. Wheres the food?

Ask for a little sample ! ! ! Overpriced Bad taste Deceiving looks I love coffee. Honestly the coffee you can create at the gas station tastes way much better than this coffee. I was deceived by the looks of the place, dont let it happen to you if you come here in the need of your precious caffeine. The lady gave me the new coffee that she suggested and after I tested I asked her for something else instead of this horrible new thing that she had just given me, " I have to charge you for that one too" she replied, "but I dont like it" I said to her in a quiet tone and trying not to make her feel bad, ultimately she was the creator of that sad drink. I didnt picture myself making a scene about an awful coffee, so I suggested to her to add some sweet. Oh well at the end 2 drinks cost me more than a meal. ...You have been warned
