This place was a conundrum for me, so Ill break it into the good and bad. Good: the food was phenomenal, plentiful, and well priced. The staff was friendly and always there to fill your coffee or take away the empty dishes. Bad: the building is old and needs a major clean inside and out. While I wouldnt call the seating area gross, it could easily turn off some more discerning people. It would be easy to turnaround and leave immediately after walking in. Its definitely a hidden gem, but a gem that needs some polishing nonetheless.

Apple Valley Cafe serves a mean breakfast. Pancakes are large and fluffy. Eggs are done just right. Waffles are piled high. Hash browns are crazy good; be sure you get them with sauteed onions. Service couldnt be friendlier. The space is old and worn and rather unattractive, but thats part of the charm. A lovely local place serving tasty food. Absolutely worth the visit if you find yourself in the area. A fun stop on a recent day trip.

Excellent service! Honestly one of the few places in Winchester where you receive consistently good service. The building is a bit run down but appears clean. I like that you can see the cooking and food prep areas. The only let down is that the "biscuits" are more of a johnny cake style but thats just due to my own personal preferences. The waffles are exceptional!

I thought Id try some new options for good breakfast--specifically biscuits and gravy. Apple Valley Cafe did not disappoint! Ill echo other reviews that while it will earn no trophies for appearance, it was great food and large portions for a reasonable price. My breakfast was about $9 and satisfying. Service was prompt, and the staff personable and friendly.

The restaurant may be very small, but the service is fantastic. It seems to be a family run restaurant that specializes in breakfast and lunch. The portions are extremely large and only seem to average about $9 per dish. If im ever back in the area again I will definitely be happy to go back as the service was amazing and the food was delicious!

Had breakfast at their newest location over in the Delco Plaza this morning. The same very tasty food and the same very friendly staff. The new location is still in "soft opening" stage but nothing was lacking. The atmosphere was great and the decor is nice. I really like the new bar seating which is truly reminiscent of a diner.

Friendly service and fantastic food. My go-to place for comfort food, and my first stop when showing an out-of-town friend around Winchester. If youve never been here, (or just havent tried it), get the Philly cheesesteak. Speaking from experience, its even better than Jims Steaks of south street Philadelphia.

We were driving through Winchester on our way from WV to the DC area. We stopped here and were glad we did. The family who ran this was diner was spectacular. The physical structure and finishings are well worn, but that lets the tasty food, friendly people and reasonable prices shine through all the more.

Awsome little place...i used to come to this place when i was much younger and it was called Donut Dinner....many memories. The cheeseburger taste just like the Big C use to. No i can start the memories with my son like my dad did with me.
