Some bad, some good. My 1st visit. They greeted in Japanese but I later heard them speaking Korean constantly. So, excited to practice my bit of Korean, I asked in Korean if the waitress spoke Korean. She said yes and I said I speak it very little. She was very nice, relaxed, and helpful. I didnt get her name, but she was very slim with hair shorter than shoulder length. I did notice that the heavier and older woman named Sun stared me down seemingly Furiously when I later said excuse me in Korean just generally for whichever waitress would be able to come to my table. I asked how much extra to sub the avocado for fish or shrimp in the (~$7.50) eel roll and getting an answer took around 15 minutes, no exaggeration. First they said $3 more but then offered it at an extra $2 and I promptly agreed. Luckily, it was Delicious. However, the Salmon Skin salad was horrible. It was not on the menu but when I asked upon my arrival they said they offer it. It was very burned and of a sour flavor, not lightly burned and covered in a sweet sauce like I had elsewhere. Restaurants differ but I feel it at least shouldnt have been very burned. I ate it though...to not cause any inconvenience for the staff or risk problems of a bad attitude toward me. The reciept/check showed that tiny burned salad as almost $10. I had been told it would be around $7, so that was when I said excuse me (plainly, not angrily). After the angry stare Sun gave me as and after she approached, she quickly changed the price. The other waitress said sorry as Sun adjusted the receipt and I said it was okay. My total was over $17 plus I left a small tip. I have a meager budget and rarely dine out but Im a 50% rate tipper (not 15%) if service is great/friendly and quick even if the food is average. I cant recommend this place due to the long wait time to get basic info even though there were only 2 other tables...plus the pricing and attitude issues.

First of all they serve me a small hot sake and charge me for a large. The miso soup was bland warm water. No seaweed in the soup or tofu! So the waitress brought me a second bowl of warm hot water that had two pieces of tofu and a couple little tiny bit of seaweed and a couple of onions floating on the top! I sat at the sushi bar because generally the person at the sushi is very nice and a lot of fun! He never said hello to me or how are you! The gentleman preparing the sushi had a frown on his face the whole time! Very unpleasant! He finally said something as I was walking to the door! Im not quite sure what he was saying! But it was a bit too late! Average food at best and way too expensive! $40 for one person!!! I will not be going back!

I have been going here for years. My 15yo daughter had her first real food here. (Green Tea Ice Cream!) And though I dont even live on the East Coast, the Chefs (One of whom has been there since I started going there.) & wait staff remember me and are always the most friendly of anyone I know. The specials on the chalk board are always delicious, try them! Ive been known to order a roll for lunch on-the-go and find that its less expensive (and much tastier) than buying sushi from Wegmans down the block. Definitely a place to go out of your way for!!

As far as sushi goes, this place is average at best. Better than crappy grocery store sushi, but there are many places in the DC Metro that are significantly better for less money. And for average sushi, they charge rock star sushi prices...$9.95 for a spicy crunchy tuna roll?? come on. Be sure to order IN the restaurant (and not call ahead) for pick up if you are fond of your wallet. The menus on their website are outdated and the current prices are about $2-4 per roll more than what their website menu dictates.

This is one of my favorite Sushi restaurants in DC Metro area. It is in a strip mall and you will miss it if you blink. The owners/ host are very nice and very accommodating to different dietary needs. A friend of my is vegetarian and they make good veg sushi for him too. We let the sushi chef decide the sushi for us and have ever been disappointed. Sake selection compliments well with the sushi .

My mediocre rating is entirely to do with price and quantity. They charge way too much for how much food they give you. I have only tried their roles. They are good and the fish is fresh. But $12-16 for a roll with a couple ounces of fish is ridiculous. I was desperate for sushi and they were close and fairly fast so it went well for that. The decor and service are good.

I travel for work and have eaten at many Sushi restaurants (including in Japan). I picked up some food at Yokos last night and must say the food was good. It was not excellent! However, I am not easy impressed by most Sushi places. I would recommend this place. It is a good, clean place, with friendly service.

Finally made it down the road to try Rising Son Restaurant. It was great. We ordered the Hashed Out for breakfast and split it. It consisted of ground sausage, bacon, onion, jalapeños, potatoes, cheddar cheese, chives, and pico de gallo and sour cream on the side. It was huge. And way more than enough for 2

The food is absolutely awful. I ordered chicken Teryaki and combination fried noodle. Absolutely awful! May be the Japanese food should be left to Japanese to be prepared not cheap imitations! It doesnt taste like ANY Japanese food at all!

This is by far my absolute favorite sushi restaurant!!! Little pricey, but I cannot resist how good the sushi is. I eat sushi probably once a week, but Yoko has me wanting to eat it everyday!!! Highly recommend:)

Yoko sushi is the best local sushi spot. Quiet dining and high quality sushi. They are very willing to accommodate food allergies and special requests. The staff is great (Sunny especially). Its my go to spot.

Good food, sushi was a little loose (rolls) but tasty. Tempura was great. Pricing is high, probably not a place Ill frequent because its so expensive despite the good food.

Terrible sushi. Really really terrible food. I get sushi twice a week and this had to have been some of the worst sushi I had in a long time. Fix your food.
