The first time we went the food was good but not special. What was irritating was the lack of customer service and careless staff. I assumed that it was perhaps the fact that they were packed... inexcusable but okay its fine. 2nd time which was today, there was a sign that said to Wait to be Seated. Not nearly as busy as the first time, stood there for 10 minutes while 2 customers near us had also complained that they havent been seen for 20 minutes. 2 waiters pass us, serve the food, and dont even acknowledge us. We wait 5 more minutes and no one says a thing. I went here because the ratings seemed great but to be honest you can get equally fresh sushi in plenty of other places in this area and get treated much better. This will most definitely be the very last time my family and I go here. The only reason why I gave this review 1 star is because I could not give it negative stars.

The only Japanese owned restaurant that we know of in NoVa so it has to meet some high unreasonable standards. After dining here, were happy to say that it doesnt fall far from our expectation. Sushi is fresh. Noodles is al dente. And, the service is friendly. It can be slow at time but relax, try the cold sake and enjoy the ambience.

This was my first visit and I didnt have a full meal, but what I ordered was excellent, especially the house salad dressing. It was nice to hear Japanese spoken and the employees were very friendly. The menu choices and decor made me feel like I was in Japan again. I look forward to my next opportunity to eat at Blue Ocean.

There was still egg shell stuck in the egg roll and it was very very hard to chew. We told the lady and she said sorry and walked away. These restaurant is normally very good like 10 star good but I dont know what happens these time.

Delicious food, especially the lunch boxes and the gyudon (beef bowl). The price is a little expensive for the amount, but the quality is good. I wouldnt recommend the unagi, though, it was a little too sweet.

The food is delicious, service was quick and friendly, and the prices were great for fresh sushi. As a bonus there is even a good crepe dessert place next door. I will be back.
