I arrived in Charlottesville on a bus and had a 7+ hour layover scheduled here. I had been traveling for over two weeks and was going to be traveling for another two weeks after it too, so I was exhausted and wanted somewhere to hang out, use the internet, and drink some coffee. I am so glad I came to Calvino Cafe and will come back if I am ever in Charlottesville again. The owner and her daughter are wonderfully pleasant and really try to make people feel comfortable. I even laid my head down on the table and rested for awhile and they had no problem with it. Great coffee, reasonable prices, and great classic rock playing. Stop in if you have a chance!

Stumbled in here for a latte one rainy day as I was walking home from the bus station. Now I love going back and taking my friends. A really great place to sit and have lunch or a cup of coffee. The espresso is SUPERB- I know a good latte, and this is it. The sandwiches and cookies are also delicious and high-quality. The mother/daughter staff is also great. I also love the books of Italian lit on the shelves. Great atmosphere and great product. Glad I needed the caffeine so much that day.

Well, I bought a cup of coffee, the person asked me if I wanted a small and I said yes, he then said, $2.15 which I paid with my credit card. When I looked at my expenses, I saw that I was charged $2.45. I didnt pay attention when he gave me a copy of my bill. I dont think I am going to get coffee there in the future. That doesnt sound like an accident to me. As for the coffee itself, it was ok but with a name like Calvino youd think it would be stronger than that.

Out of all the coffee places I have gone to throughout my years in Cville, this place is by far my favorite. The coffee is high quality, but fairly priced, the people who work there are personable, and great at what they do. Its never overly crowded, and great music in the background. I HIGHLY recommend it.

Love this place. Great smoothies, everyone is super friendly. My favorite is the Valencia. Most coffee places only offer regular or soy milk, but they offer almond and coconut milk----great for someone with allergies. Ill definitely be back.

Great little place to get a lunch panini or breakfast sandwich (all day). Not a cheap sandwich but well worth it! Very fresh and they have daily specials. Its a cozy space with friendly staff.

They dont know how to make a cup of coffee. In a tiny little space they are cooking, making smoothies, and the usual espresso drinks. Quality suffers. I wont come back here.
