I am a loyal Mill Creek Mudhouse customer and absolutely love the espresso/coffee there. It is rich and flavorful, and every morning, a cup of mudd makes my day shiny! I have actually been going there almost every day for too many years to say. I tried all of the other coffee places and have found some really good coffee around this town, but I found that it was the Mudhouse that goes down smooth and is my jam. People stop me around grounds - often strangers - asking me where I got some Mudhouse because we do not have one at UVA. There are a lot of us out here who love MUDD! But at Mill Creek, its a family thing. We all support each other there. I have had conversations with regulars at the Mill Creek Mudhouse who tell me that they drive out of their way to go to Mill Creek Mudhouse. I have friends who I never would have known had I not met them at Mill Creek Mudhouse. Nick, I have to say that I am disappointed that Mudhouse gave any weight to a customers insecure and highly caffeinated rant about the service at Mudhouse. Her opinion is valid and is her own - I respect her right to have her say. But a gift card? Seriously? You should be more worried about MY business, frankly. I think it is great that you all get together to discuss best practices and try to make Mudhouse a great experience for everyone. There was no need to out the barista or make an example of her publicly. I hope that it will make a difference that Miss Schyler is a big part of the shiny for me. Support the people who make coffee for us every day. They help build the community that we feel that brings us back each day for the great coffee and the company! I challenge everyone who reads this to visit Mill Creek Mudhouse and see for yourself. Peace.

Hi, I used to go to Mudhouse Mill Creek and the girl that worked there was nothing but sweet and helpful. I came to this page to leave a good review for the Mudhouse but I saw the managers response to a negative review and became extremely disgusted. Nicks response to the negative review is one of the most unprofessional and poorly handled things I have seen working in customer service in Charlottesville. He did not need to identify the employee as the customer did not, yet he goes and calls her out by name in his response. I have friends that have worked at Mudhouse Downtown and Mudhouse Crozet, both who said they worked there when Nick Cardoni was the manager. When I brought his response to this ladys comment up to them, they said that employees are trained to clarify the customers order into the Mudhouse standards. One of my friends said that there was no cappuccino button on the register screen when he worked at the Crozet location, he had to enter it as extra foam (dry) latte to ring up an order. So it is possible that the girl working was repeating it to herself or just saying that out of habit. It reflects poorly on the entire business that a longtime manager would be quick to point fingers at an employee and call them out by name, instead of responding in a rational manner.

WOW worse than starbucks. By a lot. And I detest starbucks. Had bad morning just wanted a medium cappuccino and she says. HER: We dont have medium ME: A Large cappuccino HER: Oh so you want a DRY LATTE... ME: I want a large cappuccino, whatever you call it here HER: WELL a large cappuccino is a dry latte. ME: ALL CAPPUCCINO IS A DRY LATTE LARGE OR SMALL HER: WELL WE CALL IT A DRY LATTE! ME: NEVER MIND I do not want to TRAINED BY ANY CORPORATION LARGE OR SMALL ON HOW TO SPEAK YOUR PECULIAR LINGO! IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN THEN FREAKING MAKE MY COFFEE! Its people like the this horrible barista who started the interaction with a way to enthusiastic "Well I think our coffee smells like garlic, so to each his own" that make me vow daily to never leave my house again. EW. NO STOP. Just the coffee, less opinions, more coffee. And somebody buy a real coffee maker, they dont want to make the large because its a hunk of junk so this is the sewage you get.

I am infuriated by the treatment I got here. I went in with my boyfriend to get a drink on 7/31/16 and waited in line for about 2-3 minutes before getting up to the register, before I could even open my mouth to say hello the guy at the register said Im sorry were actually closed you just missed it we close at 2. -_- it was 2:01 and I was waiting in line before 2. He couldnt serve me when I was waiting in line since before 2 or even at 2 but he could serve the girl before me and chat up the 2 college girls there. I did not get his name but he was tall and had dirty blonde hair. I am outraged by this, he could have at least told me while I was waiting in line that the girl in front of me would be the last person he took. Thats bad customer service in my opinion. Ive worked in customer service for 3 years too. I will never go here again. -Gisele

I go here often, and have experienced the customer service of many of the baristas there. They are always courteous and quick, even under the pressure of impatient people standing in line. Plus the coffee is fantastic, which is what its all about isnt it?

Superb coffee. Kind of expensive, but if youre looking to treat yourself, a great place for that perfect latte.
