Really a 3.5 star place. I was rather disappointed with Mellow Mushroom as it receives raves from reviews, as well as friends and family. We ordered the pretzel appetizer, which was pretty good, and the only part of the meal I felt worth the cost. A 16" pizza thats thin crust (not NY style, just thin) which has a cost of $26 is insane. Its a hipster, trendy atmosphere (Im pretty sure this country boy was the only one not wearing a beard ironically and knew how to use a hammer) so of you like that scene, its all you. If you are gluten sensitive, I can imagine this place being a step above other options. That being said, it did fell like I was eating health food, not pizza. $51 total for 1 half appetizer, 1 large meat pizza, 1 beer (not even a pint, either), and 1 soda is outrageous. You should know I go out to eat for the food, not atmosphere, so your opinion might differ. Think of this place as if Whole Foods opened up a pizza chain. If you like California style pizza, this might be good, but for a New York (real NY) pizza person, move on.

Great atmosphere, good service, and the food is terrific. The family went and we ordered 4 small pizzas to sample rather than trying to decide which one to get in large. We ended up with bayou bleu, mellowterranean, philosophers pie, and house special...consensus from family was they finished in that order. But they were all delicious. We also had the pretzel bite with beer cheese sauce because we were hungry and you have to wait for the pizza...delicious. Service was really good. Were usually picky when it comes to restaurants, but this place makes the list. Highly recommended for date night or family night.

Mellow Mushroom offers up some of the tastiest food Ive had anywhere, and they do so in the it own unique way; its as if by stepping into one, youre entering a time machine to the 1970s. Their pies are all very unique and always come out perfectly. Their staff is quite friendly, and they are good at making me feel like a guest as opposed to a customer. The store itself is filled with neat art, great music, and its all in a family friendly environment. Theres even a replica VW bus you can eat in! If youre in the mood for reasonably priced pizzas, salads, hoagies or calzones in the Southlake area, look no further!

Its 8:30 on Tuesday July 24, 2017 the drive from Roanoke was about 15 minutes just to be informed once I arrived that they are closing early but all signs say 9:00PM All online marketing says 9PM. Be aware that you should call before going to Mellow Mushroom in Southlake because they might not want to honor their posted hours. I will not be back. Poor business practice and operations. This makes me question how they hire and train employees and managers. I guess they are making too much money, they sure dont need any of mine.

Service was very inattentive, we ordered a Coors Light, and the waitress said they didnt have Coors Light. But they did because they served one to another customer, and when I pointed it out, she said ohh I though you said a pitcher, which they do not carry on draft only in bottles. I didnt care how it was served just wanted a coors light. Instead of ASSUMING she could have told me that they came in bottles and I would have been fine with it. And all the appetizers are way too overpriced

First found this place in Pensacola, FL and LOVED. So glad to have tried this one. This is not a fast pizza joint. They handmake all of the pizzas so you may have a 20+ minute wait. We got ours in under 15 when we came after the lunch rush. They have lots of creative pizza recipes for you to try or of corse the old "BYO" pizza. Dont forget the calzones and other hot sandwiches plus a large selection of tap and bottled beers with a local focus.

Tried today for the first time with the family. They completely forgot to bring out our appetizer and by the time we were about to ask, the food came out. I asked for half and half on the pizza, which came out with the toppings on the whole pie. No refills on drinks, had to ask and the place was dead and staff just in the corner drinking sodas. Had to wait forever for the check and the pizza was frozen quality at best.

WOW, lots of different choices, great prices, and excellent service, you get it all here at the Mellow Mushroom. Wen for a business lunch and ended up just having 2 munchies, The Spinach Artichoke Dip, and the Pretzel Bites. Both were out of this world taste sensations. The service was perfect its as if she was just waiting on our table. Perfect timing on the drink refills and to make sure we had all we wanted.

The food here was great. We got the hummus which was okay; kind of expected for a pizza joint. We ended up getting the shitake mushroom pizza which was super tasty. Buttery and garlicky and awesome. My only complaint would be that our waitress spent a lot of time talking to this one table about their baby. Luckily for her they werent too busy but that kind of thing wont fly during peak hours.

Seriously folks, the best pizza and service around. We ordered on their recommendation, so I have no idea what we got, but it was gustatory art. Family and I showed up from the waterpark, still wet, kids were in towels, and they couldnt have been more hospitable. When family comes in from California, this is now always on their "before I leave Texas" list.

I thought it was okay. Our waitress - Emily - was certainly friendly. The whole staff seemed to be enjoying themselves. The tortilla soup was thick, rich, and tasty. But my veggie burger was just "meh." Not enough flavor the the patty, and not enough toppings to make it stand out. Id give it another go. But I wouldnt have the veggie burger again.

Fantastic pizza with lots of choices. I went there for the first time a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised, seeing as I had never heard of the establishment prior to that. The waiter accidentally dropped some of our food, but profusely apologized and brought us some more quickly. It was a tad expensive, but Id say it was worth it.

Had lunch here with my wife while in town on business. We had ordered online because of our schedule, but decided to eat in once we arrived. Our food was ready and it was very good. Service was good as well. I have eaten at Mellow Mushroom in other cities, but this was my wifes first time and she also enjoyed the veggie pizza we had.

Absolutely fantastic. First time eating there and everything was great. Great service, great atmosphere and the best pizza I have ever had, fantastic selection and variety. So fresh. And the crust they use is not like any other Ive had, so flavorful in a natural way. Great craft beers! The "Cobra Betty White" beer is a must try.

The food was pretty good, sadly the service wasnt that great. We found a couple of hairs on our food and previous food on our plates. The waitress tried to charge us for stuff that already came on the pizza. Last time we came here, the service and food were excellent. I dont think we will be coming back again though.
