My wife and I dine here several times a month typically and its always great. One of my favorite things about Pluckers is how genuinely happy most of the staff is and the attitude they put into their customer service. This most recent time I ordered was the complete opposite. Im not sure who the hosts name was, he was kind of tall with long black hair I guess, but he was absolutely rude. I was just getting a to-go order and he is both the person who took my order over the phone and handed it to me in person. Both times I noticed his general shortness with me and disdain for working. When I said I had an order to go he sighed and said "of course" and rushed me off the phone through my order. Then in person he simply handed me my food without even checking/showing me the food for accuracy, as they always do, and when I asked for an extra ranch that I had forgotten to mention on the phone he sighed and just walked off. I was going to ask for silverware and stuff as well but I was pretty done with it at this point. Ill say that in the future if I call this location and know that this is my host I probably wont be ordering. I love pluckers and a big reason why is the experience so this definitely didnt live up to my wife and Is typical expectations.

I know that people say “you only take the time to complain and not praise”. Well, I did reviews for several other places in town that I have been absolutely satisfied with in the past. This is NOT one of those places. I met several coworkers there for lunch. I was about 5 mins behind them. Waitress took my drink order. When she returned with it, I placed my food order: grilled chicken salad. 20, 30, 45 minutes passed by. Everyone else had gotten their food and were almost done with it…I still had no food. Waitress came by finally and said “You’re food will be right out.” 10 more minutes. She came by one last time before I just told her to make it to go since lunch was over. She said, “ok” and walked off. Not an apology, not a discount (which I wouldn’t have expected anyway), NOTHING. Paid $12 for my salad and drink. Seriously. I swore off this place since that day. Be ready for this type of customer service. I would choose another place for the same atmosphere and cuisine. It’s San Marcos, you’ll find something. STAY CLEAR!! (only gave it 1 star because thats the minimum!! True scale would have been -2 stars)

Food is amazing some of the best wings and fried pickles Ive ever had. The reason Im giving them 2 stars is due to poor management. When we came in there was 5 couples waiting ahead of us two were for inside. the rest including us were looking for first available. The problem was there was 6 tables outside waiting to be bused for over 30min. With 2 bus boys working. All while 4 hosts at front counter two just standing around talking with waiters while the bus boys are overwhelmed with inside and outside tables. This is where management should step in and have the people standing around and pick up the excess work the bus boys have to drive down wait time we all sat around for an hour waiting for a first available table when multiple tables sat dirty for an extremely extended amount of time.(waited 40min for table and had time to write review all while tables were available then when seated the table had yet to be wiped clean)

Im adjusting my review. I dont know whats going on with the movement of their corporate overlord towering over the flow of business, but its bad for business. The normally friendly and active bartenders are timid and more worried about checking off boxes than they are taking care of patrons. You have your naturals, of course, like J.J., Jessica, and Becca; but seasoned vets like Lauren arent in top form anymore because of it. Even the food in the kitchen is showing drop as they become more corporate. Honestly, I dont know what their fear is. They are light years beyond the "Hooters" crap on the other side of the highway...just read the reviews. I wouldnt eat at that place with a gift card. Pluckers is home, Pluckers is family, and Pluckers is whats great about America. Please dont make this place a corporate McDonalds and take that from us. Let them do their jobs and lets enjoy some football!!

Great food and great service me and my family come here all the time of course with any where you go you have an occasional mess up or not so great server but pluckers is always more then welcome to fix it and make it right for future occasions. .... I love pluckers. ..most comments that are negative on here that Ive read are usually very close minded and only voice on here instead of giving places a chance to fix any issues that one may have had. .. this business is high volume and they keep up very well for the volume rolling in so Im am always pleased with the service if not they always correct and compensate for any issues with out me having to have a negative attitude about it. ....great job pluckers and crew

First visit was awesome. The place was packed at 7:30pm on a Wednesday for a team trivia event. Talk about a blast. Two things, if you order a tall beer, be prepared for 32oz of cold, cold beer. If you order wings, and think youre macho, back off a couple of notches. I made the mistake of ordering them hot thinking I was safe. After just 5 wings I could barely breathe, there was sweat running down the back of my ears and my mouth, lips and tongue were on fire. I couldnt quit eating them; they were delicious. Apparently they have bands 3 nights a week, trivia one night and Karaoke on Monday nights. Im going back for Trivia and Karaoke and this time, Ill order something less than "hot" when I get wings.

Waited 10 minutes for our server to come take our drink orders. My group were getting ready to walk out when the server did finally get to us. The place was not busy, it was a late monday night. Seemed to be half a dozen staff just talking. Our wings baskets and salad got to us after the table of two next to us got there food, they also arrived 15 minutes after us. Service was almost unacceptable but got a little better, server came to refill drinks, but never asked if we needed anything, Cleared table before we really finished. $6 tip for the effort, 10% of bill, hated our server, will be eating elsewhere from now on. Also, be prepared to pay high prices. Really horrible first impression.

My husband was dying to eat here again so before we went home we stopped here and waited for the restaurant to open. Its always packed so going right when it opens is ideal. We got sat right away and were attended by Miles immediately. We put in our order and our appetizers arrived within 5 minutes and our meal arrived in less than 15 minutes. It was super fast! For appetizers we ordered fried pickles and fried macaroni. It was amazing!!! For lunch I got a burger and my husband got the Philly cheesesteak. Both meals were packed with flavor and arrived hot. If your in the area and looking for a great place to eat, this is the place. No wonder its always packed.
