We wanted to try a place neither of us have had tried. We went for lunch, and it wasnt busy at all at noon on a weekday. Usually, thats not a good sign. Its a great location with a great view. The weather was fantastic, and it was perfectly comfortable to eat outside on the deck. We seated ourselves and were promptly and pleasantly greeted by our server. We asked whether there was a lunch special; we were told there were no specials, except for alcohol. We were told the lunch and dinner menus were the same. We decided to ordered fish tacos (choice of tuna, shrimp, or mahi mahi). We asked whether we could mix and match, but we were told they all had to be the same. We asked whether we could substitute another side for the fries, and we were told there were no substitutions, and any other side must be ordered separately. We chose mahi mahi. He misread the menu, overlooking the mention of guacamole, so it wasnt appetizing to him. Thats his fault, not the restaurants. She has lived on gulf, atlantic, and pacific coasts and eaten many fish tacos, so the food review is hers. She was excited to try fish tacos with mango pico de gallo and guacamole, a combination she hadnt experienced before. The fish had an excellent flavor and was cooked almost to perfection. Unfortunately, the mango pico de gallo wasnt fresh. The tomato texture and refrigerator taste indicated it was not recently made. The corn tortillas were too soft for tacos with pico and the liquid made them fall apart almost instantly. There were pools of moisture on otherwise dry tortillas. The chopped onion in the guacamole was too large and the texture of the avocado was like runny mashed potatoes. The ratio of fish to guacamole and pico was also not what would be expected. We feel like there were not $15 dollars worth of fish in our tacos. Overall, there was maybe 1 to 2 oz. of fish per taco at most. That said....the french fries were incredible. They were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside with awesome flavor. The decor inside complemented the Lexington and its war-time theme. The mop-bucket next to the sushi bar and empty boxes by the bar didnt help. However, it was cool and comfortable, as well as attractive to the eye otherwise. We thoroughly enjoyed the music. It was good rock at an appropriate volume. As we waited for our change, we debated whether to rate the restaurant as a 3 or a 2. The server shorted us our change by almost a dollar, which cinched a 2 rating. We believe 15% gratuity is a baseline, and only extremely poor service by a server would warrant no tip. We still tipped more than 15%, but shorting change is inexcusable. We dont know the reason we were shorted, but theres no good reason. Our introduction to the restaurant was disappointing. As we prepared to leave, we saw Yelp had an average 2 rating from patrons. We hope its better than our experience. They have a great opportunity, but they fell short of meeting reasonable expectations.

We came in here after our tour of the USS Lexington. It was one of the only places that looked more family friendly amongst all the "bar and grills" in the area. Upon walking in during what most people would be prime lunch hour, the place was almost empty. (This shouldve been a sign.) The servers were friendly but service was barely encouraging. The food was very disappointing and way over-priced to say the least. The menu is very eclectic and a bit of strange mix of foods for the style of restaurant they were trying to be. One of the food items we had was the gyro. It came very plain with a plate of a tiny piece of iceburg lettuce, a single round slice of tomato, a couple of sliced rings of onion and a tiny condiment cup of tzatziki sauce, for the two "gyros" that came on a plate with fries. The gyros were dry, sliced Mediterranean-style meat in a pita pocket. We had to ask for a second stack of veggies for the second gyro pita. It wasnt even close to what it should taste or look like. Ive had alot of fish tacos in lots of different restaurants all over the place and have had some really good ones. These fish tacos were very plain as well. They came with plain sliced cabbage placed on top of the fish in the tacos. The cabbage wasnt marinated or seasoned in any way. Ive never seen or had a fish taco so plain and flavorless. Apparently they use different fish for these tacos depending on the day. The kids sliders came out burnt and dry. The patties looked they had been cut pieces of a bigger patty that was pre-made earlier. The cheese slice was so small and the burger was so over cooked that the cheese was pretty much completely dissolved to nothing. Dipping it in lots of ketchup couldnt make it better for my 10y old son, but he ate it because he was hungry and didnt want to wait for a re-do. Bottom line this is a "bar and grill". I dont think there is any food that is actually cooked fresh in this "kitchen" per order. It seems they use a microwave to cook most their food. As close as it to this beach and the USS Lexington, I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Terrible service! We were told we could seat ourselves by the waitress working outside and sat for 15 minutes before we asked if someone could help us. The girl we asked to help us instead replied by asking who sat us. All we ordered were drinks, 4 alcoholic and 5 waters, it took about 35 minutes to get those. The chalk board outside said the oysters were on special at 25$ for 12. As a group we decided not to eat because of the high prices and terrible service. There were probably 7 tables total that were occupied and at least 8 workers and they told us they were understaffed. One of our drinks was a martini that tasted like dish soap with a cucumber.

We were very disappointed!! Service was OK, but food was over priced for what it is. My fiance ordered oysters no prices on board as it said "special" market price is NOT 25.00!!! And didnt expect them to be that when menu said market price. We wanted to order Salas a Chips as app. I cant have gacumaule and just wanted the salsa and chips it was going to be 14.00... No thank you!!! I will make sure to tell my family and friends not to go here.. Also Im having an Expo in July and I will tell all my vendors and people who are coming .. Not to come to this restaurant!

A dining establishment targeted towards our military and veterans is fine. I love the idea. Offering a 15% discount is awesome. But thats where I stop with the good comments. Charging $14 for a mediocre burger and 13 waffle cut potatoe chips is ridiculous. 30% markup from what should be charged for what I got today is a preditory. Process range from $13 all the way up to $29 for main meals and the drinks outrageously priced as well. Unless you have a heavy wallet Id avoid this place. Go to Whataburger if you want a burger, itll save you $8.

It was nice. The staff was friendly. We sate outside in the mid afternoon. The seats definitely needed some cleaning. The bathrooms were clean though. Our waitress was awesome. The peel and eat shrimp was tasty. I had ordered the blacken grilled chicken. It wasnt so great it was rubbery. My man had a burger and it was good to him. The drinks were cold. That works. And all in all the experience was good. I think our waitress was the best. Which made up for it.
