I know there are quiet a few good reviews here but I am afraid I cannot offer one. When I first moved to Addison Circle I thought "what a great little place", unfortunately the four times that Ive been there have all had horrible experiences and my clients who have visited have said the same thing. Apparently if you want a second cup of plain coffee you must pay a fee and my coffee is always just warm not hot. But its the service that really is lacking. They act like your inconveniencing them when you come in especially the older woman who I believe owns the place. When I first moved there I came in smiling and saying hello that I just moved in the area. You would have thought a death shroud was over the place in their response. So I thought were there are defiantly NOT from Texas so maybe they need to get to know you. Nope, four times later and same responses even when I would bring other people with me and its hard to understand what they are saying due to their accents. Last time I was in they acted like a cup of coffee and slice of cheesecake was us asking for way too much. The coffee was once again cold and to top it off a guy came in they knew and suddenly they were all smiles to see him. It is the weirdest business that Ive ever been in and the food is just OK. The desserts are good though. In a day when business are struggling to stay afloat and hospitality goes a long way in people wanting to come back this place needs to go back to school. Its unfortunate as I would love to have a personable friendly place to sit and drink my cup of joe and read my book in Addison Circle. I walk down the street to Starbucks and give them my money instead. Apparently Starbucks has heard this story over and over about Astoria from their customers, sad.

I have lived in Addison Circle for 3 years now and I actually saw this cafe while it was being built. This place always looked empty and the one time I walked in the staff didnt seem welcoming so I left. Well the other day, after my work out, I went to the Starbucks down the street to get some coffee, on my way back I was hungry so I figured I would stop by this cafe and grab something to eat. I found a table and placed my coffee on the tables outside and was about to go order something to eat, when this rude individual shows up, he looks at my coffee and remarks with a nasty hand gesture " I would appreciate if you get that coffee of my table", I mentioned that I was going to get something to eat, so he got really nasty and said get it off my table now. In any case, I picked up my coffee surprised and let him know that this was poor customer service. He then had the nerve to say. "I dont give a f$$%4", then he started using even worse language. I figure this place must be going bankrupt which is why the owner is making sure people forget about this place and never come back here, HORRIBLE PLACE!

I have been going to this place for the past 3-4 years and normally I love it. However my last stop there left a horrible taste in my mouth. I came in for a raspberry smoothie to go, and before I even made it in the door the waitress outside was extremely rude. I told her I wanted to make a to go order for a raspberry smoothie & I had planned on following her to inside to the register to pay. While we were still outside before she even put in my order she asked me for a card so she could place the order, I looked a little dumbfounded and told her I planned on following her inside to pay. Once my smoothie was ready the guy told me my strawberry smoothie was ready. I told him I had ordered a raspberry smoothie, well the waitress who had taken my order decided she would put in her two cents & she insisted I ordered a strawberry smoothie. No apologie nothing so i told the gentleman not to worry about the raspberry smoothie and I will not be returning. Horrible customer service!!

Disgusting coffee, very ambitious and polite staff. If I were to rate against the cake and two coffee drinks I ordered, my review would be one star — BUT the staff tries so hard. It seems like this whole place tries so hard at what they do yet fail miserably (the coffee was so bad we actually laughed at it). 1) Stop serving old cake. If the maraschino on top has lost its moisture, its old and should not be served with normal fare. 2) The goal of espresso is NOT to be bitter and/or ashy. It seems the baristas may not understand the concept of overextraction and the correct grind (do not max the grind by default). 3) Dont put finely ground coffee on top for decoration of espresso drinks, that is disgusting. Cocoa is the norm and much more palatable. 4) I dont know what you guys are doing, but your iced coffee is very watery. It should come out a deep brown (also known as the color "espresso").

this is about "like a death Shroud".I am a devoted happy customer of this place for more then 2 years and i wanted to state that you could say anything but horrible experience .This place is great and its known for the best coffee and friendly service. I am amazed that somebody expect a second cofeee for free ,and just for the records this is call a Refill ,and I guarantee you that Starbucks charge for that as well.As far the accent problem ,yes some of them do have some accent but all of them speak fluent English and this is never occur as a problem to me ,besides that I think this is awesome.I am really sorry for your Experience but i dont believe that all this is happen.By the way the older women it’s not the owner. The owners are very nice family and they are very friendly and generous and they run this bussines very well .

I live in Addison and this place is by far the best coffee shop I have been to in Dallas. The atmosphere is warm, the staff is very nice and courteous and the food is excellent. The coffee is an excellent brew. I suggest the breakfast panini of your choice and welcomed conversation with the staff. The lunch and dinner menu are also great and the deserts had my daughter in complete indecision over which to pick. To the poor reviewers: If you prefer big chain places like Starbucks so much, leave the eclectic places like this one alone. Take your McCoffee and your wanna be hipster attitude there instead. FYI it is illegal for a restaurant to allow you to bring in outside food or drink. But if you had ever worked in a restaurant or even had common sense you would know this.

Astoria has, probably, the best spot for a business of its kind in the metroplex, right in the restaurant mecca of the mid-west... and theyre throwing it all away on lack of excellence. About the food and wine: The wine is not worth the price tag, but it is good wine. The food is... the food was... please dont serve food if youre not going to make an effort to make it pleasant! Please? I had been here before and it had been a good experience. I will give you this much; the service was speedy and the location is still one of the best. Sadly, this place has lost its charm. Thats my piece :)
