Ive been to several different restaurants in Shelbyville TN that has similar types of food and were disappointed, then by accident I drove past the"New Century Buffet". I was very pleased,they have a nice variety of foods, all of it was hot(temperature), fresh and appealing, reasonably priced. I definitely will return again and again for sure, I went on a week night(Wed) so it wasnt set up like some do on a higher priced weekend, good work, and thanks for a good meal...

Its dark when you enter. After seeing the food I soon understood why. It reminded me of National Lampoons Vegas Vacation when Clark goes broke and ate with Eddie at the buffet. Yellow stuff,blue stuff, red stuff and chicken. Experimental dishes of chicken. Not real Chineese. Sweet and sour soup had what looked to be earthworms in it. The best thing was the green beans and water. Abysmal at best.

They say three and under is free but we always get charged for our three year olds. I got up to get the kids a toy from the machine and the waitress cleared my table and took my plate that I just got for my self.. One time after my first plate she came and brought my ticket.. I dont like them putting a limit on how much Im allowed to eat. They are always in a hurry to get us out

We just moved to Shelbyville with family, we drive by New Century. We were sceptic about going in just because of the appearance of the outside of the building. We were wrong to judge so to speak a "book by its cover" the food was really good compared to another restaurant in Shelbyville. We will be eating there again

Very hit and miss. Good little buffet but inconsistent in quality. Selection is decent. They have some of that generic sushi on the bar. Some of the food is dry like they dont change it often. Other than that I would recommend it if you are really hungry and craving Chinese.

Pretty good food overall and I have been going here about once a month for about three years so its good enough and my favorite Chinese restaurant in Shelbyville. The only derogatory mark against them is the condition of their building.

Their selection is terrific for even a low carb diet, but they need to turn up their warmers on the buffet so food wont be cold by the time you return to the table with your plate.

Here in Shelbyville this is our usual go to. The other one by Walmart is not worth going to. New century has way more selections, just wished their salad bar had more options.
