Insolent condescending treatment is what I got from the owner (Kevin) of Dunn Bros Coffee in downtown Nashville. I had taken a sausage yeast roll in with me (which he doesnt sell) when my girlfriend and I had gone for coffee there. After his wife condescendingly told me not to bring food from outside into this place of business, I decided to ask for my money back for the coffee I just bought. The owner publicly berated me saying I had disrespected his place of business. I had made the mistake of being born with poor eyesight and not seeing his small, poorly placed, dog-eared sign saying no outside food allowed. Even if I was wrong in bringing food with me, I didnt see his sign, I did buy his over priced coffee, and was a regular customer. I stress WAS!!! Kevin, YOU WERE WAY OFF BASE in how you treated me and my girlfriend. You owe me a BIG apology. My complaint to the BBB states how the apology should be delivered. But since you acted the way you did, I expect you never see that you can be wrong and its your way or the highway. Well, the highway will lead me to Starbucks with no problem. They have no delusions of grandeur and allow me to eat my sausage yeast rolls there.

I know the owners of This Dunn Bros, and they are some of the nicest people you will meet in Nashville. If anyone,(and I guessing the same person is responsible for all of this negativity) had a bad experience, I am sure is was a misunderstanding, or maybe just a tough day for one of the people involved., or maybe they dont get Kevans awesome, dry sense of humor.. Notice all the negative reviews, almost half, were written within a couple days of each other. That is what we call a "big red flag." What I can tell you is that when my business flooded, Kevan and Fawn were the first to volunteer. and the hardest to work. They take pride in their business, and dont need angry, petty, Hyperbolic reviews online meant to personally hurt them. If you dont like their coffee or their shop for any reason, dont go.. But getting online to try and convince everyone else not to go is petty and silly. This is a family business, not Dennys. They have fabulous coffee, they have great live music, they are great people, the place is beautiful, clean and awesome...GO!!.

The service is actually good, and yet the owner seems to have a "little-man-complex" and feels the need to berate his workers at times in front of customers for very trivial things. At least, that was how he acted when I used to be a patron. I used to go have a cup of coffee and study there in the nice lounge area on my lunch hour. That is, until the owner told me that he couldnt just let me sit in the store studying without buying something due to homeless people trying to take advantage of the lounge area. It didnt make sense because I bought coffee every time I went at some point while studying for the 30-45 mins I was in there, just not always immediately upon arriving. I wasnt angry at the guy, but I did think it was a lesson on how NOT to do business. I work with about 100 people in an office across the street. He not only lost my business, but that of about 10 others who after hearing my story said the would just walk a block over to Starbucks.

Dunn Bros is my favorite coffee shop in Nashville. I live and work downtown, and theres no shortage of coffee places, but this one is better than the others. Its a franchise thats locally owned, and the owners work on site. They roast the coffee beans right there in the shop, and there are plenty of tables, so you dont feel guilty hanging out a little while to drink your coffee, even when there are a lot of people. Theyve recently added a bakery concept called Provisions Bakery Cafe, and the food is really good. (The breakfast biscuits are awesome, and they have turkey bacon!) Their coffee is delicious, and they have better prices than the big chain down the street. Plus they just added a smartphone app and loyalty program.

I was on business and was looking for a coffee shop. I had never heard of this shop so I took the opportunity to try it out. There were several people exiting as I entered and I took my time to look at the options before I placed my order. The staff was very friendly, in fact I spoke to several of the staff who asked about me, where I was from and made several recommendations of places I should visit if my work schedule permitted. Needless to say my first visit led to my second, third and as of this review my fourth in three days. I would recommend this store to anyone. Too bad this shop doesn’t have locations in my Kentucky hometown.

We went here one morning for coffee. Their roaster is right in the store, which is cool, but I was a little disappointed in the coffee. They had ~8 different kinds of coffee they were selling in the bag but only had 2 offered on drip. The morning we went they had a French roast and a full City Brazil. The Brazil didnt taste that awesome, especially for being roasted right there. I would have liked to see pour overs so that you had more options as opposed to the two drip coffees. Aside from the coffee, the staff were nice and the prices were reasonable.

I love this coffee place. Their cold brew is amazing, and the staff is kind and courteous. The food is priced well compared to other places of the same/lower quality nearby, especially the pastries in the morning. The pistachio muffin is to die for ! I would pick Dunn Bros over Starbucks any time, and I can get to Starbucks without going outside in this TN humidity.

Dunn Bros has the best coffee in downtown Nashville. I recommend the daily Full City Roast taken black. Their sausage, double-egg, and cheese biscuit is delicious, too. The other food items look good, but I can never convince myself to order something besides that biscuit. If youre doing breakfast or just coffee in downtown Nashville, do it at Dunn Bros.

The bagel is chewy and delicious, even better lightly toasted. I ate it as part of a sausage egg and cheese sandwich, with the remainder being all right. The egg isnt cooked fresh there, but passable and the sausage patty was too uniform. Coffee is good.

I frequent Dunn Brothers and love it there. The atmosphere is great for coffee meetings or just to work away from the office, and the employees are helpful and friendly. Definitely has the local boutique feel unlike Starbucks.
