Horrible service and blah tasting food. I dont want to give this place even one star but it wont let me comment otherwise! I have come to this place only a few times and each time has been horrible service. The young girl that was our waitress (Tiffany) was too busy fooling around with the bus boy and playing on her cell phone. The table beside us, her other table, was disgruntled over her service also. We didnt tip her because all we got from her were drinks while other servers served our food. She didnt even pick up our dinner plates when we got dessert! Our table was loaded with plates and used glasses. I told the older woman at the cashier and she just laughed. My wife and kids all agree that we will not come here again! HORRIBLE SERVICE!

Step back into what my kids would call the olden days simply because they have a more laid back style than todays hustle/bustle restaurant style. The food is A#1 as far as GOOD OLD FASHIONED COUNTRY STYLE LIKE GRANDMA MADE kind of food. Real brown gravy made from meat stock, real potatoes, real homecooked lima beans, fried okra and the broasted chicken --all totally out of this world kind of good. My friend had the cheeseburger--an awesome representation of homemade burgers. My other friend had the open-faced roast beef with gravy and potatoes and raved about how homemade it was--and we are gals who know about homemade since we all come from the country and are excellent cooks as well.

to the customer who saw a cockroach: after over 25 years in the restaurant industry, if a roach is in the dining room, 9 times out of 10, it comes in a purse or bag from a customer. If a food establishment had a roach problem, it is usually contained to the kitchen. But as for my experience here: We had an excellent meal. The fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans and corn(creamed and delicious, like really, the best ever!), with rolls is a steal for less than $9.00.! The server was sweet and food arrived quicker than expected, considering we got there as they opened and had a line out the door. Well done and Ive recommended to everyone Ive seen!

Ok so we sat down to eat and the server was real nice. Our food came and it looked great. My friend sitting across from me said theres a bug on the wall right next to you. IT WAS A COCKROACH!!!! I immediately stood up and moved our table away from the wall and lost my appetite! They sent over a different server who told us we did not have to pay. We insisted that we would be happy to pay. She then waved her had and told us "go on and get outta here". I dont recommend this place until they have been exterminated and checked by the health department.

Their good is fantasticx, but their service is absolutely terrible. I keep coming back thinking it will be better, and it actually gets worse. Its nearly impossible, without yelling or grabbing, to get the attention of a waitress when you need something. And if you dont have sweet tea, expect your refills to be few and far between. Their food is spectacular and Id recommend a to go order every day, but youd save more time going to another restaurant during dinner rush on Friday night and still leave less frustrated.

By far the best home cookin out there. I live in Nashville, and try to make the drive up to Lebanon as much as possible. The food is great, the people are great. How could you go wrong with a combination like that. NOT TO MENTION it doesnt cost a fortune to eat there. I highly recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a nice sit-down restaurant to eat at. They also have carry-out, but in all honesty; who would want that. Thank you Sunset! Thank you for being a wonderful place to eat.

Another classic American diner. Sunset has good quality simple southern food. Chefs salad was fresh and had chunks of real baked ham (instead of the chopped slice of deli ham usual in inexpensive diners). Flavor was excellent. Chicken tenders were typical - that is, not very good. Frozen, overbreaded strips are deep fried. Taste and texture were predictably mediocre. Cooked vegetables were tasty. Overall a good value, you wont be dissapointed if you like diner food.

Food was pretty good although catfish was fried a little too hard. I would have given this restaurant 4 stars, but the cashier on duty Ms. Shirley left me standing at the cash register for 5 minutes while she sat down to play with a toddler. The line was already very long and Folks had already been waiting and now I finally reach the top of the line and she sits down to smooch all over a toddler....... UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Worst service i have ever had. We came in there on September 17 th after we laid my father to rest. I have never been so disrespected in all my life. This was my fathers favorite restraunt. I nor any of my family will ever come back. The server was rude and gave the females dirty looks a.d made rude comments. My father while alive ate there 1 to 3 times a week. We had a group of 20 .

Best Food Ever! My family and are visiting from Texas and we stopped here to eat dinner. Im a picky eater and my parents wanted something besides burgers and chicken. We were all able to get what we wanted and it was amazing southern food. Way better than Texas. Friendly and upbeat attitude. Great service and food. Will try my best to come here again.

I didnt get to try the food, we walked in and waited for awhile to be seated , while waiting we were never greeted and the lady at the cash register saw us and never said anything and after waiting awhile to be seated with employees walking by us we left. Horrible service ... wouldnt call it service at all will not be going back

I come from a family of great country cooks. I am a 73 year old minister in Gallatin, Tn. I have never had any better country cooking in my long life. I love every experience I have had at Sunset. Would recommend it to anyone. Dont mind driving the distance. Great food, service, and down home people. Go for the gusto!!!!!!!

While dining, a cockroach was crawling on the wall, we wanted our bill and to leave , a manager (older lady, I believe just to be another server who was not the one who took our order) came over and told us to just get out and we didnt need to pay the bill. Very rude, very alarming.

We have eaten here many times and it is a great place to eat. Today we were disappointed , we looked on this site to see what the hours were, then we drove over an hour to find the resturant closed today. Not sure when we will try this again. :(
