My husband and I had take out from India Palace tonight and we ordered many different things to try since we have never eaten here before. We got the tandoori assorted appetizer, an order of cheese naan, the chicken bhuna, and the non-veg thali. Our biggest issue was trying to figure out what everything was since it wasnt labeled and we arent very familiar with Indian food. The chicken tikka in the was delicious and we also really enjoyed the tandori chicken legs that came with it. The lamb boti kebab was slightly dry, but still very tasty. The chicken bhuna was amazing. I will be having that every time we order from here. My husband had mixed feelings about his thali. He liked most of what came with the combination dinner. He enjoyed the lamb curry and the shrimp saag, the meat samosa was good and so was the kheer. He thought the chicken korma was delicious. However he personally didnt like the lentil soup or the raita. The lentil soup is pureed and we just didnt prefer it that way and honestly we didnt really know if we were even eating the raita correctly. We have never had that before. We both favored the naan over the poori. We will be going back soon and I really think that we will enjoy our dinner even more now that we have an idea of what we like and dont as far as flavors go. The price wasnt bad considering all of the food we got.

Weird experience... to say the least. First off, Im not a huge fan of Indian food, but I was willing to try again, since my gf liked this place. We sat down and opened our menus, and the first thing I thought was, "Wow, this is a bit pricey for a place like this." But I shrugged it off and ordered my dish. Our dishes come out, and Im a bit shocked. My gfs dish is about 8 pieces of meat in a pool of sauce, and mine is literally just vegetables in sauce. We each payed $13 a piece. The food was alright, but I just couldnt believe what we got for what we payed. Usually, when you go to a restaurant, even if it expensive, you are happy to pay up if it was really good. I used to be a server, so I always tip, even if the service is bad (which it was). I put my $6 tip down on the table. Then things really got weird... the older lady that was serving our table up to this point (whose only English word was "Hello"), came up to our table and said the only other word she knew in English ("tip?") as she pointed at the cash on the table. I nodded, and this lady SCOOPS UP THE TIP and runs off before we even have our card back, before the table is cleared, while both our waters are empty, and while we are still seated. We were both a bit shocked at this behavior. Odd place.

Friend said she had been going for 20 years. It looks it. Took forever to be greeted / seated when they opened for dinner. Bossy old lady telling me to grab my napkin so she could pour water into a glass w lip smudges on it. Yuck!!Ok, Ill order warm tea instead. Chai tea had no spice or taste. Server said its bc there is no sugar. Really? Maybe its a language barrier. Old dirty tablecloths. Server took 20 mins to take our order but good food (hence 3 *s) came out fast. Problem was they are so bad at service he didnt have plates so he grabbed some & handed them to me! We werent even done w the meal & here comes bossy lady wanting to pick up our plates when we are in mid conversation. Is there a cutlery or plate shortage? As she rolls around the dirty dish cart. Then she slams the bill on the table. By that point its comical. Forget it. Another disappointment in Great Greenville. I wont go back to dine.

Used to be one of our favorites but has become very hit or miss. This last visit it took almost 20 minutes for someone to even take our order and then almost an hour to get our main course, which was the tandoori mixed grill. The chicken was good, the skewered meats were over cooked but tasted ok, however the ground lamb kebab was literally inedible. It was overcooked and hard as a rock. We also didnt get the canbbage dish that normally comes with your meal and the paratha bread wasnt so good and was tiny. Mind you this was on a Saturday evening and there were maybe four or five other tables and a lot of empty space. Between coming about as close to walking out of a restaurant as I have ever been due to how long it took to give our order, get our appetizer, and then to get our food (which made us late for another stop we had planned), and the steadily declining hit or miss nature we wont be back.

Over the past four years weve given India Palace several Second Chances after today we will never ever go back. first of all the service was awful. second the food even though is good its never serverd warm. when you order the all-you-can-eat thali theres never any chicken its just sauce. even when you reorder its just sauce. then when you do reordered your looked at like youre stealing from them. this has happened on more than one occasion. Ive eatten India Palace thousand times. we were the last customers at Spartanburg before he moved to Greenville thats how long weve eaten there. so I feel like my review is fairly valid from 25 years of eating at an establishment. but after today that will never happen again and its a shame because it is a good restaurant.

We have been on the hunt for Indian Food in Greenville! There is a decent selection of restaurants, but this one is the current holder of first place. The service is pleasant, the food is packed with flavor and spice, and the menu selection/lunch options are AMAZING! You start off with the paper thin spiced chip with a onion topping. Then we selected an item each off of the lunch menu, which I believe was around 8 dollars. I got the Chicken Korma, which includes the curry dish, rice, and a spiced cabbage bowl. Included in this was my darjeeling tea, which is amazing! I would have posted the picture, but I dont know if everyone would find it funny. Our plates were empty.... scraped clean!! I cant wait to go back!!!

July 28, I went there last night with 2 of my friends for dinner. We ordered lamb biriyani and chicken biriyani. The food was good, a little too oily but okay. It was a lot of portion for me so I asked for a box and packed some for later. Today, I eat the remaining biriyani and 2 bites in, I feel something sharp in my mouth. I thought it was a chicken bone and I spit it. No, Its a piece of GLASS!!! Im not sure if it is glass or a transparent plastic but its very sharp. I have also got a minor cut on my tongue. I dont think I can ever go there now. And sadly, this biriyani is going to trash. PLEASE BE CAREFUL OF WHAT YOU EAT THERE.

My family loves Indian food and my husband likes places that are inexpensive so we decided to try this place for Mothers Day. It took a long time for anyone to come and take our order and when a server did come he was unsmiling. After we ordered, we also realized that he and not asked us how spicy we wanted our food,, so we had to call him back, which took a while. However, when the food came it was very tasty and portions were generous for lunch Our water was kept refilled, but it took a long time again for our plates to be cleared. Had the service been better I would have given it 5 stars.
