I used to like BJs about as much as any Costco or Sams (which I no longer shop at due to my boycott of Wal-Marts), but they have a major issue in their meat department: they routinely sell rotten meat. I bought a family pack of three ribeye steaks (which are typically a great value and great quality from wholesale clubs...Costco and Sams, anyway) and went home to grill them that night. As soon as I opened the plastic wrap around the steaks I was smacked in the face with the foul odor of rotten beef, and when I grabbed one of the steaks and flipped it over it had patches of greyish-green on the underside. Thinking that getting a pack of spoiled ribeye steaks from BJs must be just a one-time-bad-luck kind of thing I payed special attention to the steaks the next time I was there. I thumbed through their ribeye selection, and about 50-60% of the steaks were very noticeably turning color. Funny, though, that their sell by dates were still 3 or 4 days away. When I got home I did a quick google search of BJs wholesale rotten or bad meat and found many people with the exact same complaint. One person posted their story of buying a pork roast that had a BJs label placed on top of the suppliers label. When they opened it up at home and noticed the meat had turned they peeled the BJs label off to notice that the meat was about 2 weeks past the suppliers sell by date. The BJs label that had been used to conceal this had a sell by date that had not been reached yet. Bad, bad business, BJs. If you cant sell your meat in time or you are not handling it properly you can not just place a fresh sell by date on the label and try to offload it to some poor consumer who you may end up killing. I will be taking this complaint...and probably a rotten pack of steaks that I will grab from their meat department as evidence...to their customer service desk to have my membership cancelled and reimbursed.

Another great BJ’s – that offer superior customer service, and in addition to that – the interior of all sales floor shopping areas are well kept for customers to enjoy the ultimate shopping experience. I deeply enjoy the coupons that BJ’s provide – which in return help families save money on bulk-rate items. This Warrington BJ’s club is easily accessible to and from local traffic via highway 611– which in return gives potential customers a new way to check out this savings club. Even though Wal-Mart is located across from BJ’s, there can be no comparison on the savings a local consumer can save when shopping at BJ’s. The rewards can be immense – especially pertaining to manufacturer coupons. Many of the larger items may seem expensive, but the savings are well worth the money when buying wholesale items in bulk. Customer service is always friendly, and very helpful if a problem arises when checking out at any one particular non-self-serve station. I enjoy shopping at this store – as it temporarily removes me away from the hustle and bustle from shopping consistently at the Red Lion Road BJ’s location – which in peak hours can be a pain when travelling to and from Roosevelt Boulevard. I would like to commend BJs for adding an extra layer of security relating to their deli-sliced luncheon meats -- for establishing new and updated reinforced plastic bags and inner sheets to help keep deli products stay fresh for a more prolonged period of time -- giving its loyal consumers more bang for the buck.

TWO WORDS FOR 2 STARS: DELI COUNTER. RUDE RUDE RUDE. This is the worst deli counter I have ever been to. And it is consistently terrible. I have been here many times- doesnt matter if its morning, noon, or night. They are always busy, yet the counter is ALWAYS under staffed and extremely SLOW moving, The staff that does work the counter is very RUDE. The deli area fills up quickly with 5-10 people and huge carts surrounding the counter. Even if you pull a number, if you are not standing directly on top of the counter, they will barely whisper the number and then skip you within 2 seconds. I have been overlooked and skipped twice. When I was standing right there. They wrapped my lunch meat up, the girl at the checkout register picks the bag up, and the lunch meat falls out... she picks it up and puts it back. no refund, nothing. absolutely disgusting. I dont care if you hate your job- quit.Do not treat your customers poorly just because you dont want to be at work. Other than that- the deli prices are very good. That is sole reason I even attempt to order from the deli counter. And the rest of BJs is awesome. But its very disappointing to be treated this way. And I have seen many other people be overlooked as well. Such a shame.

There is little to NO customer service at this location. I emailed the customer service about issues at this club, get an email back stating the club would call in 3 business days, 5 days later no call, so I emailed again and was told that the regional manager would be calling. 2 days later the local club called to just waste my time, attempting to put fault on corporate headquarters in not sending my correct phone number and other b.s. The Deli at this location is about the only reason I have a membership for the pricing, but over the last 4 months this store was very long wait times at the deli no matter what time or day you go. The other day I had number 06, number 99 was being served, 3 people working at the deli, it took over 30 minutes as one person decided to start cutting cheese for pre-packaging, another decided to stock deli ham (even with 2 unopened in the case). And just attempt to get tires, BJs only offers limited access to tires (unlike Sams or Costco) and no reason why. I am not expecting them to be in store in stock, as most are able to get within a day, but to only offer 1 tire type offers no choice.

So pleasant customer service - Received the 60 day trial membership coupon so called on 5/1/15 (Fri) around 5 PM and visited the Warrington, Pa location on 5/2/15 (Sat) around 2 PM to compare with Costco on prices and selections. The lady on the phone and the guy at the customer service were so helpful in explaining the membership and the current membership promo. Even thought I called and visited during their busiest hours, they were so nice and pleasant. I got the 14 months membership and will definitely be shopping here! Thank you both who helped me last weekend! You both really made me feel like a customer. God bless.

Despite the other bad reviews (which reminds me.. Philbert.. what?? What are you even saying??) I think BJs is great! Their deli department is the BEST. Cold cuts at a fraction of the cost of food stores. Their meat department does NOT sell rotten meat. Ive never had a bad meat purchase from there. I wish they had a pharmacy and ink refill center, like Costco, but I can manage without those things. Itd also be pretty sweet if they handed out as many samples as Costco, but alas.. they do not. All-in-all though, Id say BJs is definitely worth the membership fee. Their coupons are always on point too.
