Its hard to review when the pie is something delicious I can actually eat (Im vegan), while the owners are pretty horrible people. Upon entering, my husband and I were give a little sample of the pie, which I did not taste (did not know it was vegan). My husband declared it very good, so I looked up the ingredients, and the saleslady confirmed it was vegan - I immediately grabbed 3 of them and went to the cashier, where I realized that I could actually taste a sample. I asked the saleslady for a sample, and as she was giving it to me the owner came and took it out of her hand before it reached me. I started laughing, thinking it was a joke, but he got really upset about the fact that I would dare ask for a sample when we had been give one already - and this is while we were paying for 3 pies!!!

Would have given 5 stars. Everything was perfect. Except the manager some old guy decided to be a complete moron and extremely rude. Just for my husband pulling up to the entrance to pick me up so I wouldnt have to walk far after buying some pies to bring home. He literally banged on our car window with our 3 year old daughter inside getting very scared. And then yelled at me in front of the whole place telling me "not to shop here ever again". After just spending $30 in his shop. What a disgrace. He belongs in a nursing home, not around guests coming out of town to buy things from his shop. If we would have been doing something bad Id understand, but literally pulling up to entrance to get in the car? Ill be filing a report with BBB.

Shoofly pie is amazing. Got a sample as soon as we entered and purchased a pie. If I didnt try any of the other food, I would give a 5 just for the shoofly pie. I give 3 stars because of the other food. Pretzels werent that good. There is a shop in Kettle Kitchen that is the best. Picked up 3 woopie pies. The regular, red velvet, and oatmeal. The regular and red velvet were okay. they was too much cream and it was very sweet. I would suggest getting them from Kauffmans Farm instead. The Oatmeal one though is awesome. It might be my favorite woopie pie. The Root Beer is a bit odd, but I have nothing to compare to except A&W type. Probably wouldnt get the root beer again.

Dutch Haven has the best shoo-fly pie, and cookies, and the various items they sell are amazing. They are right in the middle of so much fun as well. Visit the "back" building and see beautiful shawls and afghans at low prices, and impressive yet affordable cedar chests. Nearby, visit the Outhouse, and stay at the Fulton Steamboat Inn, where you can send free postcards to your friends. The whole area is a ton of fun, and youll probably leave weighing more but not minding one bit. We go at least once a year to enjoy all that the Lancaster area has to offer, and Dutch Haven is a focal point every time!

I bought two shoofly pies after trying a sample. The sample had barely any crumble on it, but the pie was extra heavy on the stuff which ruined the experience for me. Also, Dutch Havens shoofly pie isnt how I remember shoofly pie as a kid. I remember it having no crumble and the filling was sweeter and firmer with a slight flavor of black licorice. Dutch Havens filling was more like goop with saw dust thrown on top. The "Americas best" was definitely self proclaimed and not awarded. I dont know whether to toss the extra pie or gift it lol. It might end up in the trash either way.

Their Shoo-Fly pies are their No# 1 pies and their Pecan pies are their No# 2 top selling pies. I got a Shoo-Fly, Cherry and Chocolate Pecan pies. They were all delicious, and the Chocolate Pecan pie is my favorite. The store is unique. Majority of the store is filled with merchandise/souvenirs, and the pie counter is in the back where the register is. To exit the store, use the door by the register, the only way out. Interesting store layout. I will definitely return for more lies. Yummmm!!!

Poor at best. My wife and I stopped to but some local goods. We are from Lancaster and know what fresh home backed Amish goods are and this is not the place. The peach pie we bought was made with caned peaches. I can understand that in winter. This was peak peach season. The woo pie pies were stale and unsatisfactory. This is just a tourist trap for people who don not know anything about Amish baked goods. You can literately find better in Lancaster county any were else.

We stopped by looking for wooden rockers for the front porch. While sitting in samples discussing our options an employee brought us a sample of warm Shoo-fly pie to share. When we asked about a glider to match the rockers the staff referred us to the "junkyard" out back for some different options. We spent about 20 minutes at the junkyard visiting with the seller (owner?) and we left with a couple rockers and a pie. Good folk, good food, good wooden furniture.

Omg! You want to know what I think about this place....I guarantee without a doubt you will never have a better Shoo-fly pie anywhere else! If I could of buy all of the different pies, but Shoo-fly is my fave. The store has so many different things. The furniture is real solid wood. You dont see that often anymore. The people working there are so friendly. Overall a great store.

This is a nifty little tourist stop in the heart of Amish country. A lot of the souvenirs seem to be made in China, however. There were some genuinely authentic Amish items for sale and they even offered us a free sample of their Shoo Fly Pie. It worked. It was so good, we ended up buying one to take home with us. Not a bad place to stop when your visiting Lancaster.

This has been the best shoofly pie weve ever tasted. Several other places in Lancaster County make it too sweet. Dutch Haven is perfect. Also recommend Dienners Country Restaurant homestyle buffet right next door.

One star for the pie sample and one for the pure entertainment value of product range. Dont be fooled that this is even remotely Amish. The carnival ride looking wind mill will help you dash those hopes.

Friendly staff. As soon as I entered I was given a sample of the Shoo-fly pie to taste. Everyone can find a gift to take home, affordable and moderate prices.

Dont buy the shoofly pie or the root beer its not good. The pie is way to dry dont taste anything like the pieces she gives out. And the root beer is awful.

Love the wet bottom shoe fly pie. Dutch Haven has it. Bought 2 large pies and we enjoyed them both. Lots of souvenirs, furniture items, etc.

Best place to buy Shoo Fly Pie and Great souveniers. When shopping you get a free piece of warm Shoo Fly pie with whip cream.
