We have stayed at the Hershey Farm Inn (in the main hotel building) on many occasions and customarily have been pretty happy with our accommodations. However, when we were there in November 2012, our king-sized bed was incredibly uncomfortable. Upon checking out and mentioning how unhappy we were with the bed, we were advised that the Carriage House and Farm House units were going to be "completely renovated" during the Spring of 2013 and would all be getting new beds. So, when we booked our latest trip (June 14-16, 2013), we opted to stay in the Carriage House and brought another couple with us (Rooms 400 and 430). To say our rooms were a disappointment is a huge understatement. Both rooms were exceptionally dark during the day (due to insufficient lighting) and uncomfortably bright during the night (due to the spotlights in the parking lot and nothing on the lone window to darken the room except an inadequate mini-blind that let in light). The renovations did not appear to have been done by a professional. But worst of all, the "new" beds did not seem to be new at all! In fact, our king-sized bed was so uncomfortable (hard and lumpy) that I went out and bought a mattress topper at Bed, Bath & Beyond so I could get some sleep the second night! (The Inn didnt have any vacancies, so I couldnt try a different room.) The other couple had the same problems with lack of light/too much light that we did, but their bed seemed marginally better than ours. At $288 for two nights per room, we definitely felt cheated. On the positive side, the employees at the Hershey Farm Inn are all extremely gracious and helpful. The food at the breakfast smorgasbord hasnt changed in years and is still tasty, if predictable. (We ate elsewhere for dinner.) The flower shop never ceases to amaze and the gift shop and the nicely stocked boutique make for fun browsing. Overall, I would give the Carriage House a 2+ rating and would never, ever stay there again. We do have reservations to return to the Hershey Farm Inn in August 2013 and will be staying in the main hotel building. Hopefully well be more comfortable there. If not, we’ll be finding a new hotel for future visits.

We stayed at the Hershey Farm Inn from 7/5/16 - 7/9/16. The room was ok. It had 2 queen beds and an outside porch area overlooking the pool. The bathroom was small but that is too be expected for a hotel. My main complaint with the room was the bugs. Not sure what kind they are since Im no expert but they were all over the place, both alive ones and dead ones. They need to get an exterminator out there ASAP. We went with another family and my sister in law and their rooms were infested as well. The second day of our stay, we had our room cleaned by housekeeping. My wife had some expensive makeup STOLEN out of her makeup bag. We noticed the following morning when my wife went to get her makeup after showering. I went to the front desk at approximately 7:30am and was told that they did not think she would have done it because they never had any issues in the past and was a long time employee. I was told to send an email of what was stolen and they would let the housekeeping supervisor know when they got in at 9am. I did as requested and went on with my day. Around 3pm I had not been contacted so I sent a follow up email and was contacted within the hour. Maybe they were hoping I would forget. I was told that the housekeeper denied it but was willing to pay for what was stolen if it didnt turn up be checkout. Seems odd because if someone accused me of stealing something, I wouldnt offer to replace it unless I was guilty. Needless to say, I received a credit for the cost of the stolen item. Also, please beware of the benches and chairs by the playground equipment. They are so brittle that a 40 lb child would probably break it if they sat on it. Some other issues: the outside was filthy (see photos) Dont use the ice from the machine for anything other than filling a cooler. The filter is overdue for a change. (See photo)

My oldest grandson (Tyler) turned 19 on August 19, 2015 and he picked Hershey Farms as the place he wanted to eat. There were 8 people in our party and we arrived at about 5:15 P.M. We were greeted with a friendly welcome and seated immediately in the rear area with a great view of the farm. Our server was prompt and explained where everything was located and took our drink order. We all had chosen the buffet. Best choice! The food was the best we ever had. From home cooking to special orders to the huge array of deserts to pick from. Everything was fresh, hot food was hot, cold food was cold. This area was kept spic and span clean. Not something you see in a buffet style establishment. Only had one issue...the waffle iron and I did not get along too well! But, the person attending the grill came to my rescue right away and "trained" me! I call him the Grill Master!!! Please try the grill! Awesome! This restaurant is amazing and the staff are wonderful! Please check out the gift shop and homemade bakery items too. Everyone deserves a round of applause! If you are going to see a show, come here first, get your bellies full and relax. Bring your appetite, not your attitude cause you wont find that here! Oh! by the way? We are locals, this is where you will get "good eats"! Thank you all.

I went here to eat tonight with my brother and my father. We were greeted by a friendly employee and were given a table in a corner. First thing we noticed was a dead fly squished into one of our menus. We let the waitress know about it and the only thing she said was "oh, okay." Didnt even replace it or apologize. Left the table with it there in front of us. There was also about a dozen or more flies buzzing around the table. As well as a lot of dirty food marks along the wall. My dad got the buffet and loved the food, but not so much his coffee,in which he said tasted like mud. My brother and I both ordered burgers off of the menu, his well done and mine medium rare. When we got them his was practically burnt and mine wasnt far behind it. The waitress was seemingly friendly throughout our visit after the menu fly thing. She kinda seemed hurried to get us out, or to not have to be around us (She asked me if I was done with my plate, while I was still eating, with over half of my food left). Overall I dont think Id recommend this place to anyone I know. It was dirty, super overpriced, and maybe in need of new waitresses.

I always liked restaurant because food was very good with big selection, which is main reason why I stayed here for first time, when I arrived I found out restaurant is closed January and February which should have been stated when booking room, one of the other guests hit my car in parking lot and of course they said nothing about it, so I asked staff if they have a security camera in very small parking lot for hotel guests, they have cameras everywhere else to make sure none of guests are stealing, but no care in the world to put a camera outside to keep an eye on guests vehicles, the TV has very limited channels and TV kept cutting in and out making it almost impossible to watch, the TV is old HD plasma that needs to be updated, grainy screen, after telling staff about my car that was hit by another one of there guests said he was sorry and nothing he could do and walked away, not that I expected it, but he could have cared enough to look into it, I suggest if your looking to stay in Lancaster to pick one of the many hotels in area and stay away from here
