I visited "The Proper Brewing Co." a few weeks after they opened, before they got their kitchen up and running (for any who read this review later on). Date & Time of Attendance: 12/13/15, 7:00-8:00pm. Looks: I walked in and was immediately impressed with the exposed brewing equipment, the clean design and colors of the front dining area, and the huge wrap-around bar, and the exposed air ducts on the ceiling. Service: Upon walking in, I was immediately greeted, and ushered towards the bar up past the dining room, which was not yet open. When my wife and I sat down, we were given menus, told about their staple beers, were asked if we had any questions. The rest of the night, both bartenders were extremely personable, and had us laughing and chatting, and always made sure that we had what we wanted. The Beer: I am a homebrewer, and I drink craft beer. In other words, my standards are a little higher than most. That being said, this beer is great..I was blown away by the options they had, the reasonable prices, and the taste and body of their beers. My wife and I were both very impressed with everything about this place.

Love the energy in the main bar, the dining tables down the hall from the bar are quieter, and the dining room even more so. The back room is the restored Palace theater and whether it be live bands, fundraisers, fashion shows... any event there fits a good-sized crowd but has the intimacy of a smaller venue. They had a painting party there in the dining area, before they opened the kitchen, which was fun! The staff and owners are very nice, genuinely concerned about customers. I like the beer flights, and most people I go with are way more serious about beer than me (a wine lover) but they have good ciders, a few wines, and some pretty good cocktails on the menu. Its always fun trying new brews. Ive never been unhappy with the service ever, but if you want to get a table on a weekend... they do get busy at night!

Thank goodness. A reason to visit Quakertown. Honestly, I had low expectations, but to my surprise it was very good. I liked it better than Stone in San Diego (I am not a hop person). It is a little sterile on the inside, but it could improve. I like pubs with some character. Character aside... I thought the beer was good. Tried all of them. I found the light beers to be very drinkable which is odd since I usually only like beer that light will not pass through. I didnt love the darks as much, but I did enjoy the Proper Cherry. It was just right. The food that I had was very good. I give it two thumbs up and hope good things for this place. It has lots of potential. Lots of potential... cant wait to hear some music and see what events they put together.

Exceeded expectations Since I saw a lot of families eating here some with young children I assumed this would great place to take my 15yo son for dinner I was correct We were seated within 1 minute of entering at a perfect table Staff was polite and legit friendly Food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering When food arrived it was perfectly cooked and prepared We also ordered loaded fries and the pulled pork and bbq sauce was the best I ever tasted and the main reason I am writing this review Tried a beer I forget which one but it was absolutely outstanding Cannot wait to go back again A must try

FINALLY a decent bar in down-town Quakertown. I walk past this place on my way home from work every night - though I dont stop in EVERY night. Beer here is great - I like the beer flights; it helps to decide which one to go-with for the evening. Burgers are great too; I cant wait to see this place excel! Ive told everyone at the bank about it so hopefully word will start getting around town. (I am never setting foot in that skunk-dive Eagle Hotel again! )

Fantastic beers brewed right here in this small quaint town, totally unexpected from a visiting guest. A must visit if you love local brewed good hearty beers. They also serve wines from local wineries too! I had the gaspacho soup, very hearty generous portion. Never had creamy gaspacho and have to say it is the best gaspacho soup and cream soup Ive had for a long time. This place deserves 5 stars right from the heart of a New Yorker.

I like this place more for the food than anything else. I really did enjoy my meal last time, and it was better than the time before. I like that they brew their own beer, but I wouldnt say that they have the best selection. We waited a little too long to get our food, but it was so good, I ended up not caring. The waitress was definitely friendly and on top of things, though. Ill definitely be here more often.

Great atmosphere, clean, and fabulous staff. i love seeing a business like this in Quakertown. I had a chance to speak with ownership and they are very receptive to comments/suggestions. Stumbled on to an open mic there on Tuesday. The gentleman running the show said it is held once a month on a Tuesday every time. I will be back to check it out again!

Was a little crowded as they were only opens few weeks and the back room was not open yet but was seated within 30 minutes. I didnt mind standing and waiting since I was able to finish off a few delicious cold ones. Really enjoyed the gabbi wit. Food was really good and setting was nice. Growler prices were on point as well. Would definitely recommend.

My son and his new wife ( my new daughter) had their wedding reception here this past Saturday and it was perfect. Everyone had a great time. The owners and staff were the best. We also had the rehearsal dinner there and once again couldnt ask for a better experience. Thank you for a great time

Service was extremely slow. Shrimp cocktail over cooked. We ordered 3 medium burgers, all over cooked. Never saw our server to tell him that the food wasnt good. We had to ask for silverware, napkins & ketchup. It was our 1st and last time going there.

All their beers a great. Staff is always friendly. The place has been growing and the new spot in the back for bands to play is awesome. Place looks great and has a decent location. Their burgers are really good. No lie they may be the best I have had.

The beer is amazing here! It was great to try a flight of beer and figure out my taste further. The food is natural so it is a little pricey but well worth it. Great staff and place. Would choose this over apples or a generic place any day

Great burger, nice selection of beer. Visited once when they first opened and had a limited menu. The service & food was great. They expanded with additional seating/bar near the entrance. Hope they continue to do well!

Great food and beer. Highly recommend the The Proper Cherry Stout and Proper Snakebite. Even if your not a stout person it is a must try! My friends that love IPAs liked it too. Chicken quesadilla was excellent.
