Dear Saga Management: Hello I am writing you today for a few reasons that I think management or corporate need to hear. I have been coming to your restaurant for a few years now and the food is either hit or miss. Here and there the food is off due to the inconsistency of your hibachi chefs. My most recent experience however was wonderful with your chef named Shawn (now the waiter on the other hand was horrendous). Let me first say how bad my experiences have been prior with your asian chefs. Not only can they not speak english well enough to cook a MEDIUM RARE filet Mignon but they almost always mess my order up. Now I understand that could be the waitresss fault too but it has happened way too many times with the same chefs. Back to my point, I cant even carry on a conversation beyond "hello welcome saga" with these japanese chefs. Their english is so poor that for the money I am paying ($30 a meal) my meal better be cooked right. But rarely ever is it done right, until this past weekend when we had chef Shawn, or Shawn-ishimoto as he jokingly put it (YES some actual personality and humor from our chef for once!). Some how or another there is a white chef now that I can actually have a conversation with who knows how to cook my food right.... because I can actually tell him how I want my food prepared! How convenient! Before I would try to start up small chit chat with my robotic asian chef who seems to be programmed like a loud cheap made in china plastic toy that you would pull a string and they would say the same phrase over and over again. When I would ask a question like "How long have you been doing this?" to which the chef would then ask what I said in confusion and then I repeat... and then he asks me if I wanted steak sauce!! How asinine is this that in a community like Robinson where the people are middle to upper class and majority English Speaking cannot even carry on a conversation with a guy who is cooking my $30 filet and lobster? I have been quiet long enough and do not want to make a scene while I am out in public with my wife, it is embarrassing asking for a manager and the whole process. This is just another PAYING consumers opinion and I feel like it should be known when someone is doing a good job they should be commended and thats why I am writing you today. Our chef Shawn this past weekend was phenomenal, he was funny, entertaining and had our whole table cracking up at what he was saying. Too bad the rest of your staff and chefs were not more like him. The food was cooked to our liking instead of over cooked and under seasoned. I would rather focus on the positive and not the negative and get someone in trouble or fired but our waiter was horrible, he was rude, inattentive and emotionless (like your chefs in the past). Could you please give your staff a lesson on manners and how to smile. They say it takes more effort to not smile than it does to actually smile. Thats all I have said my piece. I really would like to know though WHY do you continue to employ immigrants who cannot even speak english well enough to hve a normal conversation? I have emailed businesses before and I do not expect a reply back but deep down in my heart I hope you have read this and taken action. Peace out, One Love.

Went there for the first and last time last night. I had recently eaten, and was not hungry, but my SOs family was in town, so we all went out to eat. They ordered hibachi and I just got an appetizer. After I ordered, the waitress came out and asked me three times if I was sure that was what I wanted. I said yes. Then they sent the cook out, who asked me again if that was all I wanted. I was embarrassed at that point, because everyone in our party as well as the other parties at the table was watching. When I told them AGAIN that was what I wanted, they turned to my boyfriend and asked him if I was sure that was what I wanted. Apparently I dont know what I like to eat. So everyone elses hibachi was cooked and they were eating by the time my two skewers of about 4 small pieces of chicken arrived. They were 50% fat and tasted terrible. But I couldnt have any of my boyfriends hibachi because they charge you $9 if you want to share a meal. And to make sure we didnt share, they stood next to our table and watched us eat and listened to our conversation the entire hour we were there. None of us felt comfortable to speak and relax with them standing over our shoulders the entire time. There is another hibachi place even closer to where I live in Robinson that doesnt try to pressure me into getting food I dont want and doesnt watch me while I eat their food (their food also isnt made up of 50% fat.) Ill be going there from now on.

So disappointed!! Made reservations for 8 for my boyfriend and I. Watched people walk in without reservations be seated before us. Was not seated until 840. Waited 10 minutes for a server and ordered drinks. Several people at our table ordered lemon with their water. No one received a lemon. Ordered drinks from bar and they were brought out 10 minutes later. My boyfriend ordered a green tea cooler. He received a vodka with ice. He also ordered a sweet potato roll. 20 minutes later our dinner is being started and we can see his roll sitting on top of the sushi bar. We waited and waited. He had to get up and retrieve his own roll.. Unacceptable. Dinner was average. Used to be much better. Waitress never got refills for anyone at the table or checked on anyone. Extremely upset and disappointed. Used to love Saga & rave to everyone about how great it was. Food spilled on the floor in several areas not cleaned up. Will never return, and will take my hibachi nights to Nakama.

The food was amazing, but our waitress was extremely rude. My friends card was declined and the waitress yelled at her for not having enough money, even though she was about to get her wallet out and pay with cash. She began spouting off personal problems that she was experiencing and she acted as though we were going to "dine and ditch", when in reality, we all paid for our meals in full. I had to use some coins to pay my bill because I was low on cash, and she essentially called us children for doing so. She told us not to come if we couldnt afford it. We could clearly afford it, but apparently she doesnt think that coins count as real money. We also left large tips even though her attitude was very negative. Even though the food was delicious, the service was a damper and we will not be returning.

Ate there tonight, or tried to. Our sushi platter came back looking great...except for the live worm that was on the plate. Immediately lost our appetite. The manager apologized and offered to cook us something, we declined as we were already late for an engagement. He offered to make it to go in 5 minutes, so we gave in a said ok, just picking teriyaki chicken, the first thing we saw on the menu so we could go. 15 minutes later he came back with our food and a Bill for $16. So you apologize for almost giving us stomach worms by insisting on cooking us another meal and charging us for it. Not sure what kind of business sense that makes, but we will never be back. By far the worst sushi experience we have ever had.
