We chose our own seats and were handed all types of menu that had nothing to do with the time that we were there. Some specials menus which started after 5pm but it was 3p. Then this ugly caucasian girl comes over to ask my boyfriend, how is he today? Never acknowledged me at all! Lol she has the face of a fly, yes you, you know who im speaking about now, right? Im sure you do it every time. Then, who i find out later is the manager, serves us the food, and my fish on the tacos looked like mcdonalds nuggets and i asked her what is this, a kids meal? Then she gives me this attitude and walks away. 10 minutes later, i asked her to speak to the manager and she say umm hm, not, how can i help you? At the moment, Im so shocked and having to take her out of the equation because she was going to be part of my complaint. SMH Bottom line, BECAUSE OF THESE 2, EVEN IF THIS WAS THE LAST PLACE ON EARTH TO EAT, I WOULDNT WASTE MY MONEY at that location! I did go the one on south st. Around the same time and did not have one problem.

This is my official first ever review. I feel its important. Ok so my first time at Copas. It was a few days ago. Ive always heard about this place and decided to see whats the hype. The place was empty. There were about four parties there. All of them spread out. The host decides its a good idea to seat me (Im alone) directly next to a party of five facing their table. I thought it was weird but whatever. I changed my seat. The host WAS pleasant nonetheless. Outside the temperature was 87 degrees. Inside was 90 degrees. I was physically uncomfortable. I ordered a quesadilla and fries. I think it wouldve been delicious if the chicken wasnt burned. The food was bad. I might have caught them on the wrong day. I think I shouldve gotten drinks because the bartender looked like she was doing her thing!!!!! The servers were hot and uncomfortable and I could tell. I finished my food. Left a tip and decided not to return.

I would not eat here again. They didnt have lemonade, my chicken tenders were covered in thick, oily batter and they charged us an 18% gratuity. The waitress refused to give us separate checks in order to receive the gratuity. Its stealing! Their gratuity policy is they charge 18% for tables over 5 and checks over $50. We were a table of 3!!! I called and spoke to Nicole about it the next day. She answered the phone and when I asked for a manager, she told me to hold on. Then, she came back on the phone saying she was the manager. I asked if she was the one who answered and she denied it. Go somewhere where waitresses feel the need to provide good service and not somewhere where they steal it. Btw..we were never informed of the policy and thats illegal.

After a long work week a friend and I visited the Copabanana in University City around 9:40 pm on Saturday October 3rd, 2015. We were greeted by a polite staff, and our server was a pleasant mix of friendly and professional. Unfortunately, her manager thought that we were spiking our drinks. This was insulting and I was humiliated. I requested that he come over and smell/taste our drinks, and speak to me. I was the told that he was "flustered" at the moment, and may be a while coming over. I felt disrespected, because I saw that he wasnt busy at the moment. He came over about 15 minutes later, and apologized (insincerely) after checking the camera. They comped our $9 appetizer, however I dont think that was enough.

Came here with my girlfriend and Parents. Split an order of fries with onions and peppers. I had the small bowl of chili. It was tasty, but extremely oily. The service is hit or miss (agree with Kelly H. on this one). Ive waited for 15 minute without anyone seating or great me. This last time I was seated promptly by a very nice waiter. My mom ordered her burger medium-well and sent it back because it was too over-done. The waiter had said that their medium-well was still pink, but cmon...anything over medium is grounds for being thrown out of a restaurant. Their burgers are amazing. They no longer cary the bison burger, but still offer a salmon, turkey, vegi, and bison burger.

My daughter and I attempted to have lunch at the 40th and Spruce Copacabana Saturday afternoon. We asked to be seated outside. After waiting 10 minutes for our beverages- the server told us we have to leave a credit or debit card with them until we finished eating. Ive eaten several times at the restaurant and was never asked for my credit card. We felt very embarrassed by this experience and decided to leave the property. I called the manager today (Sunday) and made a formal complaint. Apparently, the restaurant have experienced people running off without paying their bills. They should consider not having outside seating rather than embarrassing their customers.

Very poor service. Hostess removed us from our seats since we came through the wrong doors. People were given our seats even though they came in after us. We mentioned that we came for the event, the hostess then rudely said we had to buy something. We were attempting to buy something when we were forced out of our seats. Hostess then said we can sit at the bar, which was full. Left after that. Very disappointing experience, I was looking forward to an event they were going to have. Although, 5 stars to the event woman. She was very friendly and delightful.

Stopped in for an early lunch, the jerk/mango burger was really top notch. With lunch we ordered margaritas, a favorite of mine, but we could not even drink because of the copious overload of salt that was in it. I told the waitress but she just giggled and walked away, so Im not really sure what that was supposed to mean. If Im paying for a drink that cost more than my meal I would expect it to at least be drinkable. Never going back which is a real shame because the food was so good.

Ive always thought of Copa as something slightly different from a Mexican restaurant. Sure, they have nachos, but they also make an epic cheeseburger, and their famous Spanish fries. Regardless, the food is really good, and every margarita is about one and a half pours, which is a nice little bonus, especially because theyre on special for different happy hours during the week. Go on Wednesday for half price burgers - they have a nice menu of burger options with different toppings.

If you are at work and go to Copas during lunch time. It wouldnt be wise to do so. I arrived at 12:10 pm and had to almost walk out the door before my food came out. I didnt get out of there until 1:15 pm, and I had to carry my food out. The atmosphere is nice and the margaritas are great. But the wait time is horrible. If you are on a time schedule and is looking for a quick bite to eat. Copas is not the place for fast food service.

Good food but terrible service. Ordered food for lunch and not only did my delivery person leave without giving me my receipt, he just handed my food to one of my co-workers and left. I went downstairs as soon as he called and he was no where to be found. NEVER tip in advance. I also asked for no bread...guess what happened? BREAD! My advice...go somewhere else.
