I am not one to post anything about places but my family and I went here tonight for my birthday- The quality, service, and cleanliness of the restaurant has gone down hill big time since the last time we were there. We sat down and my son noticed a spider web right on the window sill next to the table. Whatever, no biggie, told him to ignore it. A few of the things we wanted to order werent available because they werent on the menu or they didnt have the right stuff to make the food. I ordered brisket and ribs, the ribs were really good- brisket was tough as hell. I could hardly rip it with my hands. Kids got chicken and both loved it. The section with the sauces was messy. Now onto the bathrooms. Having to walk through a bingo parlor is strange. Then you go in there and its nasty. Theres a weird wall in there, my kid asked what was back there and after inspecting said, oh! Its just spiders and toilet paper. (And thats what it was). Not sure who is in charge of cleaning that, but someone needs to get on it. Trying to pay and get a box was forever. Really expensive for the quality that the food is now. We wont be going back again.

We have been enjoying the delicious smoked tastes of Muddys BBQ since they opened on Pricetown Road. But more importantly, we choose Muddys - Dave and his staff to cater our wedding last October. From our initial tasting and selection of menu down to the night of our reception we received great service and more than expected! Dave went above and beyond and created an awesome display for our buffet at our barn venue - he was there several days in advance setting up and you could tell how much time and passion he puts into this business. The quality of the food was amazing, our guests were thrilled and it was very reasonably priced. We loved the extra things Dave put into our meal - such as the hand carved watermelons with love birds and the attention his staff gave us personally as we ate our meal that evening. Thank you for sharing your passion of great food and service - we will continue to be patrons at the store and for our future catering needs!

We live in Exeter, where there is a noticeable deficit of decent restaurants (Exeter got called out for the low ratio of restaurants to residents in the recent township study, actually. True story). We typically fallback on viva castle pub, panera or maybe alebrije when we eat out near home. This was such a welcome change at muddys. HUGE orders of food. Awesome flavor. Friendly service. We ordered wings (crispy, not crazy-hot, served with chunky blue cheese), barnyard fries (just wow), and the pulled pork with all the toppings (go for it - its awesome, especially the garlicky greens). Can see us becoming regulars here. :) Thumbs way up!

There arent enough good things to say about this place! We drove over an hour to get here but it was so worth it! If you are looking for authentic Texas bbq with meat full of flavor no sauces are needed and fall off the bone ribs, brisket you can cut with a fork, pulled pork that melts in your mouth and wings that take you to a spiritual level, then look no further! They also do take out and catering! The friendly staff was a treat and the menu was very simple which is definitely a plus! We found our new favorite place thank you Muddys!

Their sign says best BBQ in Berks country and I would probably agree with that statement. However, while the BBQ is solid and the sauce is good, it generally isnt the best BBQ Ive ever had. The one thing that I really didnt like was the coleslaw, which was finely chopped and soggy from too much liquid. With that said, the portions are huge and I made multiple meals out of my pulled pork platter. Overall, its a decent place to stop into if you are in the area.

Definitly wasnt a very good experience for me. The ribs were dry and not even fresh, a few days old at a minimum. The brisket was even worse. If you do or know real smoked bbq this place overdoes it. Very subpar BBQ if your looking for recently cooked good tasting BBQ items keep looking this is muddy bbq at best...the name really does say it all..the Mac & Cheese was good but ya dont go-to a BBQ for that!

This place is awesome! You can really tell the amount of passion they pour into their food. The price is set well for the large portions you receive, and everything Ive had there Ive always enjoyed. Staff is real friendly, too.

Why do I need a last name
Not really much to say. It lives up to its name with the abundant BBQ related stuff on the menu, the food is ready fairly fast, and the quality of the food is very good. No real downsides, good place.

Consistently great local BBQ. Theres no better (and easier) way to please a big group of people than to get one of the big combo packs from Muddys.

Bad wings, got sick. We sent them back. Offered to make us a new batch but not refund our money. $7.95 for 6 wings. Over priced BBQ. Use caution!

Secluded in a small valley so you feel well-removed from the hustles of Reading and Philly. Excellent bbq but slow on service.
