Patisserie is gorgeous, space is gorgeous. Ive purchased a couple hundred dollars of product, and it is some of the best around, but this is not France. I was a bit disappointed to learn the almond croissants are day-old plain croissants, filled and re-badged. The Macaroons have phenomenal presentation and are all immaculate. Some have very good flavor (the fruits, coffee, others). Croissants are average, not the best Ive ever had, which surprised me (3 trips to try them). They may need a new butter source. One kind of jelly we tried was wonderful, the other was just ok, and had very little fruit flavor. The entree I had was far, far too salty (duck confit). I could not believe this came out of the kitchen. I happen to be fine with more salt than most people, so, it was certainly ridiculous. I read another review noting a similar experience. My request for some kind of aioli or other sauce to accompany my fries was met with, "We used to have that, but now we just have catsup (with corn syrup, no less)." Seriously? French? Maybe New American, it does seem like they will do ok, based on talking to friends and customers and observing their location and steady business. Good! Its too bad they have to over salt and dumb down cuisine to please the Trumpkins. (The Patisserie chef made one of Trumps cakes, and is quite good, I guess Im looking more at the Restaruant side, different chef).

Very overpriced. Many of the pastries are brought in from a third party supplier. Being charged for his hand made pastries and he doesnt even make them all. Dont be fooled, theyre tasty but just not his work. In your reply, your very comments verify the truth of my statement! "We make everything from scratch here/ that our bread and breakfast pastries, ONLY, are actually imported directly from France" When I was in to buy the pastries I was told they are made in house, that nothing was brought in from outside. Youve just stated that this is a lie. Not all of your people are making that clear. Thats deceptive. I will stop in shortly to talk to you.

If youre looking for delicious and oh so good desserts, then this is your place!!!!!!! Went here for dessert and after dinner drinks. The desserts were phenomenal!! I had the azure flourless torte, and OMG was it so good! I also took home a 6 piece box of salted caramel macaroons, which are so delicious too! Ill have to be back to try dinner here!!

From the moment we walked in the door to when we left the service was outstanding. The food was fabulous. Great bouillabaisse! We celebrated out anniversary and were treated well. The atmosphere transported us to somewhere other than downtown Lancaster. Desserts were exquisite. Speaking to the chef capped the evening. We will be returning.

My girlfriend and I stop by everytime we are in lancaster. We have been to Bistro Barberet alot and never once had a complaint. The pastries are amazing better than any I have had in some of the bigger cities. They also feature la colombe coffee, which is out of philly another reason to stop by.

Bistro Barberet has the best croissants in Lancaster County by a long shot! I would gladly pay double the price for them. I served them recently at a brunch I had for friends -- my guests raved and my husband was greatly disappointed there were none left for breakfast the next morning.

I was doing some photography in Lancaster recently and this shop caught my eye. They have an overwhelming selection of pastries. They all look like amazing works of art! Everything is so fancy, the place is very welcoming, and the owner is very nice! Ill definitely be going back soon!

The two ladies at the bakery were very nice . The people at the restaurant area were looking at me weird prob cuz I look like a child lmao. The macaroons are amazing.. They are so soft and just melt into your mouth. I would come back to get more pastries.

The food is authentically French. From the French bread and butter to the croissants and fruit tarts. Dinner and Lunch in the Bistro are both amazing or just grabbing a pastry to go. The restaurant is very chic and the staff is friendly.

Prefix meal option was incredible... Still dreaming about the fish souffle and the gnocchi with tatsoi! Can hardly wait to come back! (Oh, and how could I forget the desserts.. and Im not even a dessert person!).. Just INCREDIBLE!
