This is one of the few local restaurants in Shaler, and it recently changed owners so things may have changed since my last visit. However, it pains me to say that I never recommend this place to friends. For the most part the restaurant offers mediocre to less than desirable fare like those iceberg lettuce salads that stopped getting served everywhere else in the world. The interior is old and not maintained well. Expect things like holes worn into that plasticy booth material you last saw at Chuck E. Cheese. It is all locals from patrons to staff and on the positive side of things they are all friendly. However, there is no desire to make this a unique restaurant or serve delicious food so inevitably youll leave pretty disappointed. I really want to like this place, but it doesnt produce a quality product in most respects.

From the outside Shaler Lounge looks like the typical neighborhood bar. However, it is so much more. I have watched football games there, pigging out on appetizers and beer , and I have had four course meals in their dinning section. Shaler Lounge has a little something for everyone there. I have never had a bad meal there. On Tuesday nights their special are whole wings...and they are among the best wings I have ever had. From burgers to wings to pasta dinners, Shaler Lounge is a hidden gem in the North Hills. I definitely recommend this great place!

The food: I had a reuben sandwich, probably the worst Ive ever had; a sloppy, soggy, sandwich with greasy fries, all topped off with dirty silverware. The decor: unclean, the ceiling tiles are discolored from the buildup of smoke and grease. The table was sticky to the touch. A foul odor emanated from the restrooms that are right beside the kitchen door. The service: poor. I sent the meal back and the server returned with a check for $2.89 for a soda that was flat. Upon exiting, there were 2 bar patrons urinating on the sidewalk.

My experience was a few months ago, the one bartender, Stephanie, spent more time outside then in around the bar. She short changed me and my friend, charged us for a few drinks, made my view of the place not runned right without management being there.

Food was fresh and menu was more extensive than typical bar food. Meals for our party of 8 did not come out together, but they were busy other than that the service was good.

The store has a quality selection of cold beverages and also contains a good menu to order food. Staff is always very nice.
