Pretty bad.........................................................................Originally from Pittsburgh, I have now been to Blue ABOUT 10 times over the past 5 years. The restaurant is hidden away in an old shopping center with a huge vacancy rate. The original owner/CHEF did a fine job but has since opened a new restaurant after selling blue to the previous owner of the bordering pizza shop which was boarded up, and has since closed. Staffing and personal issues have plagued the restaurant and remain unresolved. The owners brother was hired as the executive chef and I believe was let go, then brought back again, then let go again. One of his previous chefs was also let go then brought back and remains the current executive chef. The place is a bit dirty (dust balls in the rafters!?), the food is MEDIOCRE at best and the decor is in a word DATED. The staff changes every month and the general manager, too inexperienced to even run a McDonalds much less a fine dining eatery could care less. Its not that the food is bad its that it isnt really good and extremely expensive. Save your money and go somewhere similar which will end up being a little more than half the price and a much better meal.

Great especially with Bobby bartending the appetizers are very good and go well with the premium drinks. The dinners are good and well thought out. Previous reviewers said the decor was dated... I dont think so and Im 29 and find it to be what I expect for a martini bar. Back to Bobby he is by far one of the best bartenders I have ever seen. His drinks are mixed well, loaded with a good amount of alcohol and are very consistent. This place is a good value during happy hour as the martinis are decently priced. After happy hour you should be ready to pay a premium for the drinks. They are not overpriced by any means there just what you would pay anywhere. I have never had a bad experience in the 10 or so times I have been here. I have never had a hangover as well which is very surprising given some nights when I was particularly thirsty.

We like to support local businesses so we tried out Blue North . Wow Everything was so good. We had the black tiger shrimp and hummus for apps. I would describe each as fresh and flavorful. It was hard to choose our main entree. There were so many things we wanted to try. We settled on the filet and the scallops and were really considering the wagyu burgers and duck pastrami. Both of our dinners were cooked perfectly and were savory sweet and delicious. Great wine selection. Our server was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly. The timing of our food was perfect between apps and entrees. Highly recommend. We will be back for another dining adventure!

The bar area is good if only youre planning to have drinks only. Otherwise, if you would like to have your lunch or dinner, please please go somewhere else. The food is extremely bad. Dont let the casual atmosphere fool you as the restaurant, chairs and carpets are pretty dirty. I think the kitchen has some issues with the airflow as when you order fish, the smell from kitchen comes back to dining area. Anyone can guess what you had from the menu from the smell of your shirt or jacket when you go home. The servers are there just to take your order or bring your plate. You have no chance to get their attraction for ordering extra stuff, even asking the check.

Spoke way too soon in my first review. My experience here was pretty damn bad. I enjoyed my steak, but I was the only one out of nine of us who enjoyed their food. A few of us just plain didnt even get our appetizers and all, I begged the waitress for my soup, literally, all night I dont know how many times I must have asked and eventually just got so annoyed that I told the waitress I would just take it to go when I was getting ready to leave. We waited almost an hour to get a second bottle of wine. Oh and to boot, when I left I finally got soup! But it wasnt even the kind Id ordered. My advice is, definitely do not come here on nights when they are busy.

Looked like a cool place when we got there and our server, Shannon, was fantastic and very accommodating. We had approximately 20 people there for a meet and greet, many of whom ordered entrees in addition to the appetizers we had purchased to share with everyone. Youd think the owner would be grateful for us introducing people to her place, yet she made us feel as though we were a nuisance - in spite of the fact that everything had been arranged ahead of time. Certainly did not feel like a welcome guest in her establishment. Her attitude could have made up for the fact that the food was pretty pricey for relatively meager servings. Wont be back again!

Wonderful semi upscale food. Ingredients are typically local and excellent. Food can be a bit on the pricey side, with entrees varying from 20-35 dollars, but is well worth it. Servings vary immensely, some dishes are quite big whereas others can feel on the small side, but the quality is always there. Blue North is usually fairly quiet for dinner, so it makes for a relaxed evening. Theres a large variety of cocktails available, all quite good, and an extensive wine list. They offer monthly wine tastings which are all worth going to with some friends. The bar itself has good happy hour specials too if youre just in the mood for a drink and appetizers.

This is the only restaurant Ive ever walked out of. After being seated and looking over the menu which looked promising, we waited, and waited, and waited. While the owner walked around chatting to what seemed to be the locals and regulars, we were left there to sit for 20 minutes without anything. No water, no interaction whatsoever! That is not an exaggeration! The service here is terrible! This place doesnt even deserve one star. If I could give a zero rating, I would. Customer service should be your number one priority when you own a business and the owner was very rude.

I was informed that the owner owns the pizza shop next door which generates enough cash flow for both places. The owner doesnt seem to care if this place makes it or not so I guess that explains why specialty draft beers are $7 and some drinks are $10....Someone ordered scallops and the dish stunk so bad, I think that alone was almost $30.....The bar seems pretty cool if your over 55....I would never eat there again, would only stop if I was desperate for a drink... I worked in pizza shop before, would not spend big money on people making minimum wage to touch my food...

My wife and i went there on a Saturday night, only half the tables occupied. It took 1 hour to receive our appetizer and final left 2.5 hours later, the food was over priced and poorly cooked. The only good thing about Blue is exist door and seeing the sunrise the next morning as we walked to our car.

My wife and I had our first Blue experience the other evening at Blue Restaurant in Duncan Shopping Center. While shopping at the local Grocery Store my wife and I noticed the Blue Restaurant. We decided to give it a try and had an enjoyable experience. Excellent Filet!
